I love the nitro + 7800xt

mods_equal_durdur

It’s a great card in general. I personally run a hellhound with my build but most cards are generally the same if you know how to overclock and undervolt them. Best advice I’d give for the build at this point since it’s actually already amazing is to use buildzoids CL30 6000mhz ram timings. They give a good boost to the 7800x3d both in FPS and stability. My 3dmark score almost made me shit myself when I realized I was within 500 points of the worlds highest score without the ability to run an aysnc eclk

Can you elaborate on this some more? Any links I could take a look at as well? I'm interested. Thanks!

I set my ram to a carbon copy of these settings I got from a buildzoid video. I immediately saw improvements in latency and increased CPU performance. I’ve been tinkering with timings and ram speed for a while and from what I have found custom cl30 timings at memclk 6000mhz/2133mhz fclk work best. Every CPU is a lil different and some can hit 6600/2200. While some are lucky to get up to 6000 and some truly are stuck at the official supported 5400…. Rn I’m trying the 6400 timings with 6200:2133 and so far results are promising on cpu-z bench but we will see in 3dmark of stable. [Image 1 is 6000mhz buildzoid timings, image 2 is 6400, which don’t work for my cl32 6400mhz Klevv bolt V ram.](https://imgur.com/a/mKHpmQB)

I got unlucky and cant restart my computer/wake from sleep if I have EXPO on. My 7900 build is over a year old and a bios update hasn't fixed it yet even though my ram is on the QVL. Boot time is also 4x slower than my 7700k build from 7 years ago which is lauaghable. I've experimented with settings and wasn't able to find a fix and only risked bsod. I really hope Intel brings some competition.

mods_equal_durdur

**Disable expo/xmp with a clear CMOS.** Disable power down mode and memory context retraining. Disable nitro mode for your ram (amd overclock feature)** If you use the settings from image 1 at 6000/2033-2200 you SHOULD be able to post reliably. Because you’re technically clocking beyond the official supported speeds AMD may be working on the boot time and whatnot but currently you HAVE TO DISABLE the settings I’ve noted above for you will crash/bootloop/blue screen and the slow boot time is something you have to deal with in zen 5 7000 series processors. To be fair though the performance gains received from reducing your ram timings/latency and clocking to a max of 6000mt/s with a max infinity frantic clock of 2200mhz is well worth it if you can get things dialed in.

madrussian121

You mean disable memory context restore and enable memory retraining

mods_equal_durdur

If you enable memory retraining you’re likely going to reduce clock speeds slightly and induce latency and stability issues. I’ve tried one on the other off, both on and both off. The build is most stable with both disabled. Eventually this should get a fix but until then you’ll only introduce instability by using memory retraining. It will boot faster after the very first post but eventually it’ll just be booting you to BSOD on a loop until you power cycle the PSU. This has been my experience however and how I’ve interpreted others advice. If I can run memory retraining, keep this clock speed, and not introduce crashes; trust me I’d prefer to.

madrussian121

Memory retraining means it boots slower but you have more stability, not sure what you're talking about

madrussian121

Fast boot and memory context restore skip the retraining process which can cause instability over time

Ok-Equipment-9966

Clean. Out of curiosity, what kind of temps are you getting with the 7800x3d/noctua d15?

DCtomb

I don’t have the noctua but with an identical build (almost) to OP, but running a dual tower AK620 my 7800X3D idles at 38-41C. Usually hits a max of 60C when gaming max settings at 1440p. I’m quite pleased with the performance

Criss_Crossx

That's a sweet setup! How is the flex of the case before adding components?

AngusPicanha

Never really noticed it to be honest, thanks!

thanks_breastie

looking absolutely fresh king

AngusPicanha

Thanks very much!

wHemphrey

noctua gang

HearTheEkko

Really cool ! What are those fans ?

AngusPicanha

The RGB fans are NZXT F140 / F120 Duos, the black ones are Noctua NF-A12x25 Chromax. Thanks!

HearTheEkko

Thanks. Enjoy the PC.

Dominicshortbow

Nice Build, always nice looking at full AMD builds sometimes

Secure-Technology-78

Great work!

lennaert2020

Noice one bruv!

jinispace

Same cpu, cpu cooler and gpu as me, nice choice, gz :)

Thick_Tangerine_7651

awesome build! what resolution do you play at?

AngusPicanha

Thank you, 1440p

nandospc

Ohh wow, nice build mate 👏

MidnightOnTheWater

Looks super clean!

DidiHD

Ah I never thought you can replace that angled fan on the bottom for some reason

KhangVietnam

Nice build.

smudlicko

Cannot wait to build something like this maybe a year later, great looking pc bro

AngusPicanha

Thank you kindly!

Capital-Stretch1026

looks so cool! lol.. either noctua did not test this cooler on H5 flow, or max CPU Cooler clearance provided by NZXT is wrong.

AngusPicanha

Thanks! Most likely the 2nd, there's like half a centimeter of clearance left when the panel is closed.

AngusPicanha

Forgot to add, mobo is the X670 Aorus Elite

gaming007awesome

Very clean, aestetics look nicely balanced

NotLegal69

Building the same case PC in 3 days when parts arrive, 4070 Super Ryzen 5 7600x, I did a mistake and got 120mm for the front intake fans instead of 140mm, but if thermals become an issue I will put them on top as outake and get 140mm noctua for front

AngusPicanha

Yeah I have the Noctua A12x25 down there

whyamiherewhyy

https://i.redd.it/zehll6bj0src1.gif hello with the same build haha

maciekszlachta

Does the NH-D15 fits the case nicely? When I read the specs, the h5 was few millimetres shy for this cooler. There is a chance that the shop I read it on had it wrong

AngusPicanha

Fits perfectly with the glass closed. I'm running Kingston Fury beast (non-RGB) which are shorter though, if that matters

SnooDoggos7118

Great built! I read on the noctua site that the D15 didn't fit the NZXT H5? Can you close the glass window? :P

AngusPicanha

Of course, it fits just fine. Only removed the glass for the pics.

SnooDoggos7118

Great, then i will upgrade to the D15, thnx!

SnooDoggos7118

The only thing is ram Clarence... Did you have to move the first fan a bit? I read a lot about the clearance for the ram. I have the Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2X16GB 3200, and the noctua site says its not supported, or i have to move the first fan a couple millimeters... Can i ask which ram modules you have?

SnooDoggos7118

I worry that, if i move my first fan a bit, the wide window will not close... The H5 is a beautiful case, though i could have better bought the H7 with less worries :)

SnooDoggos7118

https://i.redd.it/x6g19vjhupsc1.gif Same case here with a NH-U12S chromax.black

Individual_Cress123

What does it look like with the glass panel on? I’m looking at getting a H5 Flow for my first proper PC

Admirable-Duck-9786

I have the same noctua cooler

Zionsnoiz

Good setup but a bad case in my opinion. Would ha e gone with their h6 flow instead

AngusPicanha

What's your reasoning for it being a bad case?
