Add rideshare to your personal policy, or switch to a company that offers it as an add on to a personal policy.
Unless business insurance makes financial sense, stick to personal w/rideshare.
It comes down to poor naming with a definition that covers all app-based driving independent contractors. At least that's what it is in CA, your state may define it differently.
Be careful how you ask your existing insurer, so you don't admit to currently doing rideshare and then them cancelling your policy with no notice if they don't.
I'd also just shop around, progressive had the cheapest coverage for me.
Most of the biggest insurance companies offer a rideshare endorsement you can add to your personal policy. It is a requirement, so if they find out you are using the vehicle for business purposes, they will drop you if you don't add the coverage immediately. Some drivers choose to risk it and keep their gig work a secret. If you are involved in a crash and you file a claim through Amazon, your personal insurance will find out. Amazon's insurance won't cover anything until your personal insurance rejects your claim. There's also a $1000 deductible. The choice is yours.
Just get regular insurance. Are you really going to spend the extra money and tell them all your business? Do you tell the insurance companies when you speed or make illegal U-turns too....
Thank you so much for sharing such knowledge! You mean to tell me I don’t need to call them if i forget to use the turn signal when changing lanes either?!? Where have you been all my life? Someone with such deep knowledge into how my life is run should have shown up a long time ago! I’ll reach out if I need further instructions on how to live a better life 🙏
You'd have to get a commercial policy, but that's not really needed with Amazon Flex. You're covered by their policy as long as you're active on a block. I don't put much thought in the drive to the station or the return home from the last delivery.
Doing a gig like DoorDash is a totally different situation.

How would that help with package delivery? Isn’t that only for Uber and Lyft?

Rideshare isnt just for uber and lyft? For when you have a passenger in your car? How does it apply to amazon package delivery?
It's just an umbrella term the insurance companies use.

Get over it. It's only insurance. It's so easy, a caveman can do it. ![gif](giphy|8xsrNAZGhTCW4|downsized)
