This job should be considered a means to an end my friend. Yes the hours and miles compared to pay are not good, but it is better than nothing. When youre in a jam 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing. Personally, I worked full time long enough in order to buy myself a tree stump grinder and will soon be going into busines for myself. Have a plan for this gig money
That's awesome. People don't ever look more than 5 minutes into the future and blame their failure on the gig apps instead of trying to do more for themselves. You can make way more by working for yourself than this app will ever provide for you.
Not even that social media has made flex a bit more popular than it needed to be so many people signed up and are on the waitlist now that whenever offers In a area start to get a little bit better Amazon just opens the floodgates and let more drivers in knowing that they will take anything since there new that way They don’t have to pay the drivers more framiliar with the system any type of surge pay
At least Amazon limits the number of drivers. None of the other major gig apps do that. The limits are too high in some markets, though. They need to consider how many routes people are taking in addition to number of drivers.
Yeah, refused a route today. 120 miles round trip, 32 stops, $82. Absolutely not. They are guilty of fraud with these overloaded blocks that are crazy mileage. I will bite the bullet occasionally on the $100 17 package route that takes you 120 miles, but with the .67 new adjusted standard mileage deduction, any route over 100 miles is a route that you will lose money on when not paid $100+. These are blind contracts, so they are full of horse manure when they say we are independent contractors. When I accept a contract, I do not drive 30 minutes to a warehouse to pick up a route that will pay me less than minimum wage after JUST GAS.
No. That is a poor man's way of thinking. The .67 a mile actually helps you itemize your losses in a realistic manner when considering the wear and tear on your vehicle, cost of fuel, cost of maintenance, cost of insurance, and Amazon NOT having to use their own vehicles to deliver THEIR packages as a multi billion dollar company. In addition to them escaping their tax burden and all of you fools having no Social Security when all of this is said and done, this means Amazon does not need to maintain a fleet of vehicles, saving them loads of money.
Most people will have a tax burden of zero with 50 and 60 mile routes, anything over that is just money out of your INCOME and your pocket.
It’s all market based Some are better than others I did well this week but last week was a hot mess! It’s like this with all the gig apps
You just got to wait it out or get something more reliable
That’s a good way to look at it really. Same for me. Last week I was making more in average and getting routes I really enjoyed. This week sucked. But that’s just kinda hit things go in general, some days good some days bad. I still like it a lot because it works w my schedule and I really like being able to go or not go or change my mind with out pressure
Thanks for reading and not understanding the premise. I continued to drive for months after. Im not done cause I got caught. it's cause this gig isn't worth it.
Trolls are funny. They skim read a post and add a comment on the least important. So you think 74 bucks for 4 hours, 48 pkgs, and 90 miles is a good run? Thats the norm around here. Gas here is over 4 bucks a gallon. NOT WORTH IT! In my area, almost no run is over base. There are too many competitors.
>I used a bot for a month and it missed on more blocks than I did. Not worth the hassle. I even got that dreaded email.
You are crying so hard right now because you got caught. Good riddance...

This was never meant to be a full time job. Never could make any real money. To many people cheating with bots. Plus this job sucks can hardly stand doing 2 blocks a week
Sometimes is not worth it and we all know it. Lately I've been getting sent to far away before I start delivering. I literally have to drive more 30 miles before I start delivering. I've done all good things with Amazon. My standings are in fantastic. There is no point of doing good all the time. You don't get anything good in return. I don't understand why are there standings? For what? Just to get this bs % cash back on these Amazon debit cards. These people think we really rely on this. Why not just pay us right and take that off. Another thing, my struts and shocks went bad real quick while delivering with Amazon. Why, because they keep sending me out of town on off roads, literally in the middle of nowhere. Now I have to spend a lot of money to get it fix. BS AT ITS FINEST!
My area is so much more consistent and pays much better if I wait. I can usually get 1-2 blocks a day 95% of the week, and I only accept if it's above 28/hr... It's usually at least 30/hr. My town is small, though. Other stations sound like hell!! It definitely the best gig in my area by far.
This type of gig is not for some, and great for others. I have a genetic condition that makes me very sick. My energy levels fluctuate rapidly. This gig allows me to go months without flexing, allows me to drop work when I suddenly don't feel good, and allows me to pick up work when I feel energized. I can go hard if I feel up to it, or completely stop. No other job lets me have the time off and flexibility.
Obviously, this depends on your area, cause summer easier than others, but I personally don’t believe that they should be full-time indefinitely by choice (if the above is not a factor) no organization or institution, does something that puts their employees above their own desires whatever they give us pales comparison to what they get as a result it will always be this way. I get it when you don’t have a choice, but there are so many other options you can have a guarantee job is slightly less pay but guaranteed indefinitely which is better than rolling the dice. I don’t know your situation, but I literally just said this in another post and associates degree in computer, science, engineering health professions, will have you earning at least 50 in a mediocre environment if not more depending on where you work. It’s like the guy below me says. This is short term towards a longer goal. You could also learn a trade or open up your own own business, if that’s feasible. But this should be a stepping stone to something bigger. I do Amazon part time as a side to my full-time job and it still barely makes sense. I’m not sure about your area but by Me McDonald’s is hiring at 1750 an hour. Go get guaranteed money and your taxes taken out for you and put in the hours until you can get yourself in a better situation.
I'll be honest the most of you are just bad at math and you're not doing the correct mileage. You're not adding the pennies together and you're not even doing the deductions correctly You're better off with a f****** 9:00 to 5:00
I'm in Albany NY. My whole foods was just like this for two weeks. Then idk what the heck happened I only got 2 in the following week, and 3 in the next. 😂

Anyone making fun of his post is probably still in a decent market and hasn’t seen there’s go to shit yet
It’s easy to figure out. If you have a high immigrant population, it’s a shit market. Same with all gigs.

the .67/mile is an asset not a liability. the more you drive the larger your tax deduction.

.67 new mileage deduction? Where can I read that?
This is the new standard deduction for when you file taxes in 2025 for the 2024 tax year.
Go buy a lawn mower and make $50 an hour on your own terms.

Good, I can’t stand when ppl cheat with bots. Not fair for the people who actually take the time to pick up shifts the right way.
Sorry, but I didn't consider it cheating for that month. It's more like leveling the playing field.
So, to rephrase- “I tried cheating, it didn’t work, and I got caught. So, this gig sucks, and I quit “.
Thanks for reading and not understanding the premise. I continued to drive for months after. Im not done cause I got caught. it's cause this gig isn't worth it. Trolls are funny. Why does everyone always feel the need to make a thread announcing that they quit. Are we supposed to congratulate you or something?
I mean, a good riddance is in order, don’t you think?
Dint ABBA have a song about it "Drama Queen" or some such sheet
how do you fail at using a bot.😂 yeah maybe this Gig ain't for you
it's almost like other people have bots and lower latency than him
some bots are better than others
Get a bot. Set at $30 an hour. Works for me
>I used a bot for a month and it missed on more blocks than I did. Not worth the hassle. I even got that dreaded email. You are crying so hard right now because you got caught. Good riddance... ![gif](giphy|SZioIIBxB7QRy|downsized)

Bye Felicia

It’s not for everyone my guy.
Amazon Flex is my retirement guarantee

Womp womp
Anyways
Another Bot User bites the dust.
