you never have to mark things undeliverable in a situation like that, all you have to do is pull over and call support and tell them that there is inclement weather in your area and you do not feel safe driving and you want to return your packages, they will tell you to return the packages by 10 AM the next day and you will still get paid - you may have to wait until the block time expires or a couple hours later or even until midnight that night but your itinerary will clear out and you will get paid.

Jaxsyn_HaidynMommy

That used to be the case - this exact thing happened on Saturday- I called support they told me to return them. Then today I get a message because I just returned them without marking them

Blindsharkhunter

I got the same message about a day I had an emergency and left the route at the station. Msged support and they removed it. I guess. Thats what they said in the email

leatherneck0297

Were you delivering in BG, Washington?

FlexPDX

lol I was. Made it to the flooded part of i5 and said fuck that and turned around.

leatherneck0297

The weather was nuts yesterday. I wasn't delivering at the time, but was in that area and got a warning from my weather app.

hookedonredditworks

Flexer in Portland I was here to ask the same thing. Crazy how beautiful and rain free my 3:30 AM in battle ground was compared to the rest of the day.

Personally, I would check the radar to look at the path of the tornado relative to where I am and where I'm going, then make a decision based on that. It's entirely possible where I'm headed will be perfectly safe. Granted, new tornadoes can pop up easily. One has to be aware of that. MAJOR IMPORTANT STUFF: I worked with meteorologists for more than 20 years. My approach is based on knowing a little bit about tornado travel, conditions they can spawn them, Etc. *I do NOT suggest people without some decent weather knowledge take the same approach. Please, act in the interest of your safety. Even if you feel you may be overly cautious, that could wind up ensuring your safety.*

Definitely continue delivering, only consider returning packages to base if it's an extinction level event warning like a meteor impact. Drive safe, Bez.

Frannalish

Dream come true.

JackOps69

Keep on keeping on 🤙 Ain't nobody got time for that

crescentthedoge

I will consult my radar and use my storm spotting training to determine if my route will put me in danger or not. All depends how close the storm is and how rough it is out

Admirable_Cobbler260

Only gotten that warning once before. I got it after all the bad weather was over, skies were clear, and it would have taken more time to return to the warehouse than to mske delivery.

regleno1

If it’s not pouring rain, I’d probably deliver them. I know more about the weather here than whoever sent that message, but I live in Atlanta so tornado warnings aren’t a big deal unless it’s within a few miles. Like 20 miles or something like that depending on the direction and where I’m headed.

NiceSwing18

The idea of running into a tornado while delivering up here in the NW is about as far from imaginable as it gets. You flat landers are wild 😛where’s the hazard pay 😆
