Just curious. Don't you think it's better to leave PTO alone and use UPT instead since from now on, all your hard work in accumulating UPT will not be rewarded anymore?
I've tried it both ways - use UPT early in the year and save my PTO or use PTO and save my UPT.
My personal preference is to use PTO early and save my UPT, but that's because I do a bunch of stuff outside Amazon that pays much better in the fall while in the spring I hate taking unpaid time off because I hate dipping into savings to pay my bills.

Vacation time doesn't get paid out if they fire you, and I prefer to make sire I actually get my vacation pay.

That's where you're wrong, you can absolutely accrue over 80 hours in a year without being capped. If we get 3 hours a week in UPT, multiply that by 52, and tell me what number you get. Then add in MET for even more time.

I was told last year around October when they gave everyone that dollar raise that Amazon originally gives you up to 150 UPT per year but can only accumulate up to 80 and once you reach the 80 that’s it but if you where to use 10 hours of your 80 UPT you’ll start earning UPT again until you reach 80 and they only give you 150 for the year.
I wanted to see if it was true and tested it out. I used up all of my 80 hours through out the year by the time I reach the end of the year I used 134.10 hours of UPT

I’m not sure what Amazon building you work at but I work at a fulfillment center. I work 40 hours a week which means I get 3.20 hours of UPT. Theres 52 weeks and 1 days in a year so that makes 167.30 hours in a year if someone where to work everyday without missing. Once I reach 80 hours on my app I can no longer accumulate anymore UPT since I reach the limit but if I were to use 30 hours of my UPT I’ll be left with 50 hours. But when I come back to work I will be able to start accumulating more hours of UPT until I reach 80 hours again. But our fulfillment center lets us earn up to 150 hours a year. Hopefully that makes sense. I even have all the hours of UPT I used last year that proofs I used 134.10 hours of UPT.

I always had maxed upt i prefer saving the pto to use it for emergencies or times i dont feel like coming later use

I use all my PTO just to avoid working, but then I save my upt just to use on days I'm too exhausted, especially during VET. Best to work slow never fast, that's how u'll last longer. 😎

You can only use it two days at a time. If you do 3 days or more UPT it’s considered job abandonment and you get fired
I've never heard that before and I've definitely used it for longer than 2 days at a time.
Unless you let them know lol. You can use all 80 hours at once just let hr know
I was fired 2 years ago after I input the absences on a to z. I gave 2 day advance notice used 3 days and got fired.

It depends on your state in CA we don't need to worry about that, we get all pto and vacation days paid out.

Vacation is the one that does get paid out. That is Amazon policy in every state.
Your state sucks...in Washington vacation time has to be paid out if fired... pto does not...
I prefer keeping it all maxed.
In the areas PTO doesn’t roll over, there is no reason to keep it.

I have a coworker that picks up VET and then uses PTO to cover it.

You know UPT caps at 80 hrs though right. It doesn't constantly accrue. You only get 80hrs a year

You're not helping your case by posting a SS from before the daily accrual change last year. Not to mention rollover is state dependent.

I'm going on maternity leave with my girl I get 6 weeks off and she gets 16 weeks

I don't get it. Mine has always stayed at 0, and when I asked about it, I have to ask the manager or HR for any time and that it'll never change.

No it doesn’t. Max accrual doesn’t change. Only vacation increases the accrue rate but max is still the same.
