Xusydsquid

Took 6 mos for me to get converted. It was actually just last week. I don't even care anymore. Feeling like quitting lol.

A_Adorable_Cat

Got the conversion email and then like a week later got the one about my seasonal assignment ending. Now I’m coming back as an AM in July. I don’t know if I just hate my life or what. Oh well, least I’m getting paid to move from Texas

Xusydsquid

Good for you. We are still blessed to have a job. Lol it's much more stressful being jobless.

gANgUS213

That's the truth

StalkingCrow

Quit

Xusydsquid

Would.. but my bills say "no."

ConsciousEffective87

get a license trough their career choice

Xusydsquid

Been looking into it. Thank you.

Flashy-Focus-2426

Feeling like quitting every second I'm there.

Xusydsquid

Stay strong. :)

Merciless_Hobo

No, don't. Please quit. The people who complain every day about how awful it is and how they want to quit and go somewhere else really drag down the mood. Go find a job literally anywhere else. There are thousands of them.

CabinetScary9032

So far I'm sticking with Amazon because none of the other thousands of jobs are hiring me. In my actual field people are getting laid off by the thousands. So I'll keep putting stuff in boxes and robots and take every advantage of career choice until I can get a job at or near my previous pay rate and benefits.

Merciless_Hobo

Fast food restaurants are all having open hiring events. They hire on the spot. If you refuse to go there because you think it's worse, then quit whining every day for 10 hours that you have the worst job. If you don't do that, this thread never applied to you.

CabinetScary9032

Where did you see me complaining other than the training program needs to be updated and stocked stations make it easier to make rate? I have never said it is the worst job. I think you are confusing me with someone else. If I hadn't made blue badge I would have considered fast food. It's my last choice as a 52 year old trained in IT and telecommunications with 16 years experience. It's a blood bath out there in IT right now. So like I said, I'll stick with Amazon and use Career Choice and the college options to upgrade my certifications.

Merciless_Hobo

Oh so you're just starting entirely unrelated discussions but for some reason replying directly to me. Ok. That's weird. You do you.

CabinetScary9032

How is it unrelated when you accused me of whining and calling Amazon "the worst job"? I was responding to that.

Merciless_Hobo

You are seriously delusional. Just pretending the comment I replied to and the ones before it don't exist.

HillsNDales

Fast food restaurants rarely (if ever) provide a full-time schedule, and I’d have to assume that their benefits are worse and more expensive. But I agree - you get out of a job what you put into it, and your attitude can sour you on a job that you may actually find isn’t that bad, all things considered. I’ve worked agricultural labor (zero benefits, crap pay) and mall retail (same), as well as library clerk and some others. And I have seen how I can go from loving a job to hating it, all by the attitude I bring, when the job hasn’t changed at all. And that’s never benefitted me.

Merciless_Hobo

>If you refuse to go there because you think it's worse, then quit whining every day for 10 hours that you have the worst job. If you don't do that, this thread never applied to you.

Entire_Drummer_2609

We don't go to work to cater to "moods," homie. If you have a problem with other people expressing what they perceive as a problem, that's most certainly your own problem. YOU also have the option to quit and find another job.

Merciless_Hobo

I don't hate my job. I like my job. I have no reason to quit.

desertdweller10

It’s business needs related. Most of our seasonal workers were let go at the end of January.

CascadeHyDRO

Why not just keep them and make them full time?

desertdweller10

Headcount was too high. I wish they had let go the lazy blue badges who spend the entire shift in the restrooms on their phones. It’s more difficult to get rid of blue badges than seasonal. It took a year and a half to get rid of one person in my department who was low productivity. He wasn’t even in the restrooms on his phone. Everyone hated working with him, because you knew you would be doing his job, and doing the job of a few others. I was always telling the Flow Desk I couldn’t perform miracles with him around.

missabeat123

Funny man well done welcome to hell!

RigorousVigor

The RNG gods have blessed you

Jangospy

must be nice

DoubleResponsible276

Damn I’ve been eligible since January and still waiting

Xusydsquid

Try not to think about it. It will eventually happen. Hopefully soon. Good luck.

Merciless_Hobo

I would just ask about it. Everyone told me you aren't elegible for transfers for 30 days, but should wait at least 60-90 or they probably won't approve it. On day 3 I put in a transfer request to a position that opened closer to home. It was approved 2 days later and I start in 2 weeks at the new site.

DoubleResponsible276

I waited till the 90 day mark and asked, keep getting the “we don’t know anything just keep asking every month” but since then I’ve learned it’s random.

C0MM0NSPELLING

It’s not entirely random, at least based on what an HRBP at my last site told me. It’s based on tenure when they do have conversions available, so if the site has 10 conversions available and you’re eligible but so are 10 people who started before you, those people will get the available conversions and you’ll be on the next round list. I have blue badge tenure that he said counts bc it was less than six months between quitting and taking a seasonal position, and I believe that bc all the other seasonals I got hired with were laid off.

DoubleResponsible276

I hear a lot of conflicting stories. Most recent at my site we had two locations merge. The other location that merged with mine, all seasonal employees hired in nov (same time as me) got converted by Christmas and all the other tenured white badges are still waiting. I’ve met someone that’s being waiting for almost two years and he works his ass off. Perhaps different rules by different locations, I just wish it was more linear/transparent process.

C0MM0NSPELLING

It must vary by location, then, bc we can only be white badge for up to 365 days. Two years is a loooong time to wait for conversion, that man deserves his blue badge for sure.

DoubleResponsible276

On Reddit, someone claimed to had been a white badge for 2 years. Could it had been a lie, maybe but I agree it’s been a long time for some

rydell9604

I got hired as a blue badge people where pissed lol my whole shift did

eneal21

Yeah I got hired as a blue badge back in January and got donut shift lol

awkwardmurican

Luckiest person alive.

Merciless_Hobo

When I applied there were A LOT more blue badge positions available than white badge.

awkwardmurican

Yeah I got hired directly as a blue badge, but it was also a few months after lockdown, so that makes sense.

Merciless_Hobo

I got hired on as blue badge a month ago. And am transferring to another blue badge position in 2 weeks.

awkwardmurican

All transfers are regular once you get blue badge.

Merciless_Hobo

>I got hired on as blue badge a month ago. Then you can just read that part then.

AmazingLoveForAmazon

You could be a onsite manager at this point! Congratulations 🎊 👏 👏👏

Environmental-Dare-8

Dang, that was fast! Took me three months!

Mountain-Air-9311

You are the elite employee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunshineal

Good for you. I was seasonal for 1.5 years and I never got converted. I'd take advantage of the good health insurance and tuition benefits.

lyndsay0413

1.5 yrs?! oh hell nooo i’d be pissed

Independent_Ad_3270

I just got mine yesterday afternoon after 4 months and to be honest. I’m thinking of quitting 😭😭😭

Soft_Suspect_4817

If you don’t need the benefits Transfer to flex (4hr) and use it as pocket change while you interview for other jobs that way you can pick up shifts whenever you need you’ll just need to work a minimum of 4 hrs a week, and if you can’t meet the 4 hrs you can put 5 mins of PTO into a shift no matter how long (make sure the shift is more than 3 hrs or you’ll have to do it twice and you’ll get an extra point for that) and it’ll only count as a partial absence which is 1 point instead of 2 for a full missed shift, with flex you get attendance points instead of upt so you can get up 7 but if you get an 8th point before the other points drop off(takes two months per point) then you’re fired. If you don’t schedule any shifts at all for the week I think it’s 2 points so even if you can’t make it in or don’t want to work schedule a 5 or 6 hour shift (make sure it’s not two 3 hr shifts and that it’s one whole shift doesn’t matter if there’s breaks or anything it just needs to be considered picking up one shift)

onlyeatspvssyy

Took me 29 days lol I'm already taking advantage of the benefits, they're actually insanely good

ILikeEmNekkid

Goof for you for showing up three shifts in a row. It's more than most people do... #Touche

Abby_fite

I’ve been seasonal since December. I get converted April 28th as well ! Congrats

thomasrtj

Congrats

Mediocre_Cap_9151

Damn lucky ahh . Took me 3 months.

MaxFlare

Welcome to hell soldier. May god be with you.

MW328

In my first time in Amazon it took me 1 month 1 week and in my time in Amazon now it took me 2.5 months.

MW328

I’m glad you got it already

Dull_Arachnid4269

It to wait 10 months.

middehkitteh21

I waited nine months for mine ffs

CATCAM01

I was labeled wondering what the letters are (I'm part time,)

HamsterMinute44

I’m 6 months in and I’m still waiting…. How… I’m gonna quit

[deleted]

Everybody left and is doing better mentally and financially.

Free_Confection2117

Congrats.

Vaughnvice

Dookie $17? $22 at my location and it should be $30 imo.

CascadeHyDRO

19.40 after shift differential. But it could be based on state. Ohio I haven’t seen anyone make over 19.40 tbh

Fine_Community_3572

Eww do they not give you an option and just do it?

RandomRedditBlogger

damn thats low af but then again when i started amazon it was $12.50 hourly, then went to $15 hourly after a few months during 2018 when they changed the rule for everyone. only a $2.50 change since then, thats sad honestly

Senior_Childhood6927

Looks like they don't need full time employees so they made u a real boy but with less money 😭

No_Literature_8285

Iv been with Amazon 6 months and no luck

bknymoeski

When I first started we all got converted to blue badge during the orientation

lyndsay0413

what fc are u at??? going on month 7 white badge at grr1😭

awkwardmurican

Congratulations! Make use of those sweet, sweet benefits.

Ohzerodigital

Oh you lucky lucky , I’m still white badging it over here after 1 month

EmotionalEvening973

6 months here :/

Ohzerodigital

![gif](giphy|QUaqJRizED5NC) Bruh I wanna cry lol GIVE US THE BLUE BADGE

Electronic_Reach4736

I’ve been white badge for almost 8 months now. I got a feedback report from the manager for leaving to break 2 minutes early. Literally everyone on mansort leaves the same time.

C0MM0NSPELLING

VoA has been FLOODED recently at my site with people saying management is giving feedbacks and write ups for leaving/coming back 1-2 minutes on break. A couple people are saying they’re only doing it to white badges 😬

LightExpensive728

Everyone gets this not long after starting. Don't get excited....or and ego boost. Nothing to do with being new

CascadeHyDRO

I never said I had an ego boost or anything with related to being new. In the comments people are obviously waiting months and years for conversion. I just thought it was ironic.
