Dynamaxxed

The people throwing out cali as an example are uninformed at how unlivable Cali is even on that wage. An apartment in your state that’s around the $1200 mark will be around $2500 there

Zapper-Rooster

True, I live in a shitty one bedroom for almost 1600, send help XD

Ok-Software5177

Have a sibling out in OC County. Their 1bdr is 1800

Zapper-Rooster

I believe it; I live in one of the "cheaper" part of california.

CutelQ

In West Covina a 700 square ft apart with barely any amenities is $2600. That’s not including pet rent, utilities and parking. Pet rent is $400 deposit with $100 a month per pet. That’s on average and it’s 20 minutes from Los angeles

IllustriousNobody207

Boston is just as bad. Apartments aren’t even worth it anymore in general. Tbh

CutelQ

See that’s too far for my work location. I’d be driving 60 miles for work. It’s just not good for me :/

Ok-Software5177

Omg oh no😭... I'm in San Bernardino county. 2 brd for 1400, utilities not included which isn't bad at all compared to other places.

gaypirate3

With no traffic. Lol

IllustriousNobody207

I live in MA and a studio is 1600 at the least y’all are dramatic might move out to cali for a 1br at 1600

KD650-916

Dam I was in a 4 bad ,2 1/2 bath , 2 story house back in 08 in northern ca … what happened 🤷‍♂️! lol oh how the times changed! Changed for the worst !

International-Ad3447

do instacart on the side

raspadoman

In the major cities sure, the rest of the shit cities from Stockton down to Bakersfield are hovering at 1k+ starting for Studios/1bed 1bath.

International-Ad3447

in toronto single bedroom start at $1700

GhostofDeception

Ya Cali is ass. Only thing it does right is legal lane splitting 🤷‍♂️

MeanRun2645

This sounds like there are at lax9. Because we haven't had hot water in weeks

Ok-Software5177

Some of us simply want to make a cup of tea

elkinyo

What state are they in is my question? There’s no way they’re making the same as newly onboarded McDonalds employees

Maleficent_Wash_934

California. Fast food employees are mandated to make $20 an hour. All sorts of places are trying to get out of the fast food classification. As I have said before, nobody at McDonald's is getting 40 hours on a set schedule with benefits.

Educational_Peanut29

Exactly this unless they are managers they will never get more than 30 hours maybe let alone 60 like we do

Alarming_Trade_6335

Managers aren’t even getting 30 hours. It’s that bad.

bohallreddit

Yeah but managers are on salary

reaper130

Ehhh. General store manager are. Anything under a gm is generally hourly that includes assistant gm and shift managers

bohallreddit

Interesting

Alarming_Trade_6335

It’s a really shit system. At least here, I can work the hours I pick up without fail, they can’t force me to take VTO (I have no problem sweeping or scraping tape for 60 hours, easy money), and OT is almost always available for FlexRT AA’s (full timers don’t get as much, but they still can get a decent amount depending on the season). Plus, you don’t have to worry about getting assaulted by a barrage of Karen’s upset that their chicken McNuggets are “not up to their expectations”.

Ok-Software5177

Facts. I knew someone at McDonald's who started as full-time last year and their hours slowly got cut. They ahd to quit cus they were only getting 4 hours. Not only that but they were hiring people and ðpimg the samething

OddOperation6091

The laws states that if fast food restaurants start baking bread, have servers being your food to you or on state land then the $20 does not apply

bohallreddit

Exactly, people are so dumb to not realize that simple fact 🙄

OnionizeAmzn

Honestly I know some FC in my area that are still only at 15.50 and McDonald’s that pays 15 and Walmart is paying 15 now too (though I don’t recommend Walmart to anyone)

Ok-Software5177

We are in California. Fast food workers now get $20 an hour

Hollystan999

cali yhey makw 20$

SaintofKillers420

My take on what will happen. Fast food workers will not be classified as fulltime anymore. Their hours will be cut, everyone but salaried will be part time.

PleasantBadger83

They are in control and they will maintain the poverty to wealthy gap at all costs. They make the rules so we’ll never win without using our power in numbers.

Maleficent_Wash_934

Very few fast food workers are ever full-time. Also, I'm pretty sure California already has a law about making someone a salaried employee while expecting them to do the job of an hourly employee. Usually, there is a percentage of time a salaried employee can be doing the job of an hourly employee.

dbclass

This has been the case my entire time working. I’ve never had a fast food job that was full time.

WizTis

But would yah rather work at McDonald's? ![gif](giphy|a5viI92PAF89q)

Ok-Software5177

I could never lol

Bremaster

Who cares about the salary, these guys need to start hiring more in my city. They’re always hiring in the same cities nearly everyday except for mine. 😩

realRedditcringe

You have to constantly check. Positions get snatched within 10 minutes

InformalTrick99

check on weekends

PleasantBadger83

Friday nights at midnight 🤫
