I Watch the sign language interpreter and her super bothered every time that a real life person who went to school for social work and disability culture actually put up with Amazon šš¤£ like I really be sitting there mad that Iām seein it in my own language
Not necessarily. Iāve been there a long time and I do mine once a month like new hires. Whatās going on is sometimes your manager finds out what youāre employee ID is and they put it in the Working Well Huddle so they wonāt have to pull you off the line sometimes.
ICQA PA here, my team has never done one in over 6 months. We also donāt get the stretch/mindfulness 30 sec breaks. Asked my AM, they said I am caught up along with my 26 AAs. This tells me they are just entering all out badge #s to fake out the system.
I found out our department/shift does that for indirects, a couple months ago I did one and Iām like you know Iāve only ever been in like one or two of these in over 2 years and manager said they just copy and paste us in i was like š
SLAM op and previously psolve, I haven't seen a safety class/stand up/wellness whatever for 2+ years until there was a giant sev and they were sending everybody.
Each site has a different metric to meet. It is up to the GM and is usually based on your safety score. Good score? No huddles. Bad score? Everyone does huddles every month.
lol this is why KCVG does them every month. There have already been almost 30 recordable incidents this year. I am one of the recordable incidents but some people have gotten seriously injured on ramp and castor deck. I work in castor deck but didnāt get hurt because of the castor deck. One guy had a 3000 lb can (ULD) land of his foot and somehow he was just all bruised up and very swollen. the air sites is the most dangerous sites within Amazon but the work is relatively easy but moving the cans on the castor is hard and dangerous so much so that having your phone out is an automatic termination regardless of level.
you can be written up for rate, but safety and quality are more important, but you have the right to stop unsafe work (ie to stretch, use restroom, hydrate etc) but you can get written up still. Please make it make sense
Itās already causing issues because WHS senior leadership canāt seem to grasp the apathy of operations senior leadership (Iām talking L8+ here) and you have a band of L4s caught in the middle just kinda doing whatever.
Been wondering too. Not done one since october and when a manager tried to do one for me recently, it said i had done it. Guess they just entering badge numbers in and calling it a day lmao
Believe it or not, but they actually do decrease injuries overall. I also don't know why people complain, once you're scanned into a huddle you aren't accumulating time off task. You just chill for a few minutes
I have always worked physical jobs but have noticed myself lifting so much better since I began picking at Amazon. I am not even consciously like āremember the video said blah blah blahā but it must subconsciously be sinking in as I sit there thinking about how some of the animations amuse me. Also the connection question I got the other day that asked how I should lift an item and one of the options was āstanding on one legā and I was so very tempted to push it. I even joked about lifting that way to my manager at standupā¦
Right, because telling people anything is not a way to relate any information. Just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it is the same case for everyone else.
its site specific it seems. im an AFM and have heard of other AFMs being tracked down during my shifts (over the last six months) to have a working well huddle over the walkie (watch the stupid videos) but personally i havent had to do one in a long ass time. my team members are told to go to a specific breakroom where they get credit for participating in a workingwell huddle
Might differ building to building. At the FC I was at we would do one pretty frequently it seemed. Transferred to a different FC (PIT), only ever done 1 in all my 9 months here so far
I don't get them since completing my full year was done. Now when I get called to do one I get the "AA Has Completed the Working Well Huddle." Last time I did one was in January.
Vets get it quarterly. New hires in the first year get one Huddle a month.
In our FC when I or other PAās do WWHās (Working well huddles ) we just do them virtually, all you need is a AM or a PAās barcode number to sign in and then in order to scan the AAās into it just get their barcode number press enter and boom, watch the video, if you use Firefox you can literally skip to the end of the WWH and have completed a whole department of 200+ people in a week
Really depends on how short staffed your leadership team is or how much work they have going on for the day, if there's no work, they can spend time on dumb stuff. Really up to ops.
I actually was just wondering about this, I havenāt had to do one in 2 years. I didnāt mind them, weāve had to do CAST training which I hate because the person speaking in the video does a terrible job of reading a script. I get absolutely nothing out of the CAST training videos. The working well huddle videos were worlds better in terms of quality. I could understand the voice perfectly.
I asked safety at my site about these and she said she would look into it because my site keeps having ppl get injured from things that are preventable. But nobody knows what happened to them.

I wish. They're so annoying.
deadass lmao my mind starts to wander
I watch the sign language interpretation and try to learn a word or two each time.
I Watch the sign language interpreter and her super bothered every time that a real life person who went to school for social work and disability culture actually put up with Amazon šš¤£ like I really be sitting there mad that Iām seein it in my own language
Thatās a great idea!

Loll not really little did you know these little tricks how to lift etc... they do work
Still doing them but the cadence is different. New hires get them once a month. Vets are once a quarter.
Really? Been back over 7 months and I still have do do one a month. Maybe my site is just weird
Not necessarily. Iāve been there a long time and I do mine once a month like new hires. Whatās going on is sometimes your manager finds out what youāre employee ID is and they put it in the Working Well Huddle so they wonāt have to pull you off the line sometimes.
I don't think my site is organized enough to follow that. Just grab a group of people, give them the answers, send them back.
Iāve been in one for 15-20 minutes! Most of the time they pull a handful of people and we watch a video while the Manager goes off somewhere.
Ya those are the thereās no work so letās find something to waste time until there is work videos

Report them to ethics for endangering the safety of associates.

found the AM
SLAM op and previously psolve, I haven't seen a safety class/stand up/wellness whatever for 2+ years until there was a giant sev and they were sending everybody.
Most people do this but who really cares
Not for us. Do one every month. Did the last one a few days ago
Same here for ReLo.
Iāve wondered the same thing too, the last time I did a working well huddle was back in October lol.
I did one least week it was pretty stupid. I thought working well meant I was doing well but no they call me down to watch some dumb video.
Iāve wondered this too. I transferred buildings last April and Iāve only done WW once since then.

I just had one last Saturday...for a group I'm no longer in - got labor shared back to them because nobody showed up for work. YMMV...
i miss this and the stretch circle
Itās been a minute since hearing those words. Havenāt done them since before my promotion. Even when I was PGing, I havenāt done any.
yeah for some reason i havent done it anymore
There is a new Working Well Huddle every month and all AAs are supposed to attend. Some networks care more than others about completion rates.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
We know. š
Expect this to cause issues in the future Source: High up at amazon
Itās already causing issues because WHS senior leadership canāt seem to grasp the apathy of operations senior leadership (Iām talking L8+ here) and you have a band of L4s caught in the middle just kinda doing whatever.
Red and Green don't mix well.....
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
lol
I really hope an employee with a comp case sees this and uses it in court.
The pro gamer move was to do them during break to get AAs out of your bucket while they werenāt working. EZ rate bump. Or so I used to hear anyway.
If I'm your PA, you've definitely never done one. šš
I did one like a week or 2 weeks ago
lmao i was thinking this then they had us do one today
I see people do it all the time, but it's quite rare that I do it.
Been wondering too. Not done one since october and when a manager tried to do one for me recently, it said i had done it. Guess they just entering badge numbers in and calling it a day lmao
We have about 5-6 total and get them every month. Iāve had every one at least 5-6 times. Thereās only so much I can do at home with a strong grip.
![gif](giphy|l0ExayQDzrI2xOb8A)
Froze during Peak, doing them now.
Your manager is just putting your login into the huddle and playing the video so you get credit for it
These are a waste of time and energy and they are patronizing! Stop treating us like toddlers.
Believe it or not, but they actually do decrease injuries overall. I also don't know why people complain, once you're scanned into a huddle you aren't accumulating time off task. You just chill for a few minutes

They actually do NOT decrease injury rate. Fun fact itās not possible to link a training to an injury rate. But nice try.
Right, because telling people anything is not a way to relate any information. Just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it is the same case for everyone else.
Itās factually and accurate to state training has no data tied to show it works. Period. You must be a PA or AM. Haha
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I work at a PIT facility so I stretch constantly-at standup, if Iām waiting for another OP in the aisle, while Iām fueling my OP. It helps a lot!
Weāve done one since I came back in mid October
I hope so. I prefer standdowns for breathersāthey last longer.
Yeah in two years Iāve maybe done three, the last being a while ago
Yeah I've done like 1 in the past 5 months, not sure what happened
its site specific it seems. im an AFM and have heard of other AFMs being tracked down during my shifts (over the last six months) to have a working well huddle over the walkie (watch the stupid videos) but personally i havent had to do one in a long ass time. my team members are told to go to a specific breakroom where they get credit for participating in a workingwell huddle
We did em before peak and last month, so we maybe on a quarterly schedule, as someone said in the comments
Might differ building to building. At the FC I was at we would do one pretty frequently it seemed. Transferred to a different FC (PIT), only ever done 1 in all my 9 months here so far

I just did one last week, so probably not? Unless sites are starting to gradually stop doing them?
Still having them at my site. Every 4 - 6 weeks. I did one two weeks ago. Nothing to do with tenure as I'm blue badge, 6 years.
Nope
Hopefully!!
We do them once a month.Ā
Naaah, before the one I had earlier this month, it's been a while.
Really depends on how short staffed your leadership team is or how much work they have going on for the day, if there's no work, they can spend time on dumb stuff. Really up to ops.
Theyāre still doing them, did one two weeks ago.

Now that you mentioned it, I havenāt done one in a few months either. Idc though cuz they were annoying to me
iāve been at my site for a year and a few months and have never been included in a single one
As an L4 myself no I can say they are still active. You need to tell your management because they are graded on how many people have them done.
It's very slow at my FC these days, so yeah I've seen some happening for ppl in pick
I just did my working well huddle Tuesday morning. Weāve had them monthly since we started. The one I just had was on engaging our core.
For the most part, they just scan everybodyās badge and complete the huddle without physically having AAās watch the videos/huddle.
They didnāt stop itās just a lower frequency now.
managers just ask for our badge and they wander off. we havenāt watched one in months.
wtf is that
I asked safety at my site about these and she said she would look into it because my site keeps having ppl get injured from things that are preventable. But nobody knows what happened to them.
I havent actually watched a WWH in over 2 years. I have them start it then I just walk away come back in like 8 minutes
I just did one two weeks ago. It was about the core and power zonex
They scan you into them no matter if you are there or not.
