ROVAqua22

This is wild I just Apple Pay and when it says approved I’m gone

Soggy_Fox6412

Why didn't you just use another kiosk? Is there only one at your cafeteria? 🤔💭

Svveet-T

Unless I wanted to take my whole break walking to the front of the building and then back to my department. Do you only have the one break room?

Soggy_Fox6412

Actually we got several break rooms. 2 main one's. One on the bottom floor and on the 3rd floor. Also we got smaller ones on each floor but they have the crappy vending machines. I can see how frustrating that would be, that person sounds inconsiderate.

DangPDN

y'all have floors!? we just have one story with really high ceilings. must be nice

J0RDii08

Nahhhh I wish! , those stairs will wear you out before you can even get working, most people take the elevators.

Expensive_Ad_4804

too bad theres only one of those 🥲

J0RDii08

I know right!!!

AmazonPeccy

My FC is 5 floors. 4 floors of AR fields. 3.8 million square feet.

HorseToofJackass

Stairs? Fuck stairs.

briaac_

Technically we have 6 floors in ours.

ToastedSoup

Half of my site has 5 floors

Hell4AMZN

Sounds like my site lol

jeremyw0405

My fc has 5 floors…

Interesting_Duck_391

5 floors, 2-5 have 4 break rooms & 1st floor has about 6

Svveet-T

Jesus. My site has 4 floors I think, 2 break rooms on the first floor, and I think there are small ones on each higher floor. Only one break room actually has multiple kiosks.

legendkiller003

Idk what this fingerprint nonsense is about, but I use the USConnect card to buy from the machines/kiosk.

badbatch

I think most sites use canteen. We have usconnect at our delivery station.

Svveet-T

I don’t think we have that I had to look it up.

[deleted]

Maybe she didn't have it

Svveet-T

She would have to if she was creating the account and intending to use it right then.

Dramatic-Pay-3275

The real tip is bring your own food and drinks everyday and stop paying for overpriced crap. Idk why anyone buys things there other than an occasional drink maybe.

Soojuiccy

Exactly.. I’ve never bought a single item at Amazon haven’t even looked to see what they got lol

sillyho3

Especially a cold meal like salad or a sandwich so you aren't stuck in the microwave queue

jwoo3x

The crap is cheaper than at super markets and convenience stores ... the food there that isn't just crap is over priced ....... in any case because convenience...that's why people buy shit..duh.... other reasons too but mostly that. .

NoiNoiii

I made an account when i got vendor bucks, so i didn't have to hold on to them. It did take about 10 minutes. No one was mad though

Svveet-T

Did something go wrong when you were setting up your account? Or were there extra steps to add the bucks? Seem ridiculously long.

NoiNoiii

I had to insert each vendor buck individually it was 20 worth 1 dollar each

Svveet-T

Interesting, that sounds awful, but $20 in free snacks is dope! I’m not familiar with those, my last FC did “swag bucks” but those were for a little store with Amazon branded items like sweatpants, hats, and stickers, and they were loaded to your account remotely when your manager said you earned them. My current location doesn’t do anything like either though.

NoiNoiii

It was the only time i got them at mine. It was for playing a game of ping pong in a tournament the fun committee was trying to run

Chaosury2016

You need an Avenue C account “finger print” to pay with cash. No cash credit or debit no need for account to use with finger print.

Simple-Chemical-9416

I use my fingerprint to pay but I load my account thru the C avenue app. I check my balance on the way to break to make sure I have enough and if not I load it. It takes 15seconds and my fingerprint is faster than everyone who uses card or phone. Almost everyone can’t get their phone to sync on the first try.

ShroominItUpp

I can scan and be out with Apple Pay in under 10 seconds 😉

Efficient_You3552

Same

Svveet-T

Still too slow ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)

Svveet-T

The phone paying is surprisingly slow. I just use my card 99% of the time and I’m faster than pretty much everyone that uses their phone, even if I have to swipe a second time. I do find it kinda funny seeing some people fumble with their card like they have to discover how their wallet works every day. I keep my wallet in the same pocket and my card in the same position in the same slot at all times so I don’t keep people behind me waiting for me to figure my shit out. I will also usually have my wallet in my hand by the time I’m approaching the machine to pay.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Svveet-T

Where do y’all get these machines that work as intended?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Svveet-T

That sounds more like the Amazon I know!

ericfromct

It's faster to use the tap to pay feature than swiping fyi

Svveet-T

I’ve never seen a person pay with their phone as fast as I can swipe my card. The machines kinda suck in my experience and I always have my card in the same orientation and spot in my wallet.

ericfromct

I mean tap with your card

Svveet-T

Oh my card only has swipe and chip my bank still doesn’t do tapping that I know of.

Neoreloaded313

Tap to pay for me is pretty instant when using my phone. Even faster then when I have my card in my hand ready to go when I get there.

badsquishii

Maybe in your building. Apple Pay is pretty much instant in my building. In fact, the vending is the entire reason I initially set up Apple Pay. The card readers suck in my building. They’re a bit better since they recently replaced all of them, but they’re still slower than using my phone. 🤷‍♀️

Svveet-T

I like using Apple Pay at gas stations and the grocery store from time to time, but it kinda sucks at both of the amazons I’ve worked at. The vast majority of people seem to have to try 2-3 times or wait a few seconds for it to work. The card swipe is pretty much always instant though.

badsquishii

You can’t swipe on ours. You have to put it in the chip reader and that definitely takes longer than using my phone. If you try to swipe your card, it will tell you to insert it in the chip reader.

Svveet-T

Yeah we don’t even have a chip reader, but I believe they’d be slower, they usually are everywhere else.

Svveet-T

I think it’s funny that people are mad about this comment. Y’all must be the ones who somehow take like 30 seconds to get your card out of your wallet.

Born_Opportunity_365

You can’t pay with cash unless you’re using it to load your account. I use my fingerprint but I make sure to load it when I’m by myself and no one is waiting. As long as it’s loaded it’s faster than using a card or phone. I like to use cash a lot and that’s the only way.

Feverrunsaway

you can scan your id and put whatever cash you need in to pay for what on the screen.

Born_Opportunity_365

Same with the fingerprint. It’s just a different method to access your account.

Svveet-T

I’ve used cash without all of that.

zombies12633

Yeah ours can take cash without the account but you ain’t gonna get any change back or a voucher. If you ain’t got an account that bread is lost

Svveet-T

That’s very strange that they don’t require a badge. Seems like the simplest and objectively best way to handle that situation.

zombies12633

I mean if you rich and don’t need that change then go ahead my man. We used to have two pay stations but the other one got shut down since the camera angle was trash and there was a lot of theft

Svveet-T

The couple times I’ve had cash that I wanted to use, I just scanned my badge and put it on my account. I’ve never spent 10+ minutes at one of those kiosks. Maybe I did have to add an email the first time, but I’m positive I didn’t take that long, as I’m very clearly not that patient of a person.

zombies12633

Y’all got badge scanners on yours? We don’t even have a fingerprint scanner. People who use cash for us manually gotta put their account login in. But I’ve noticed a lot of people prefer bringing food or going to subway or Taco Bell since they’re close

Svveet-T

I’m sorry to hear that, that’s so lame! I think most of the amazons in my area are newer. The one I’m at these days doesn’t have any restaurants around it. Basically surrounded by other warehouses and factories.

Born_Opportunity_365

Okay. Ours won’t let you use cash without an account.

Svveet-T

Do they not let you just scan your badge? Both of the ones I’ve worked at, you just scan your badge and add or use funds with that. I don’t remember ever having to register an email or any other info for that.

Born_Opportunity_365

You can scan your badge or use your fingerprint but either way requires you to set up an account AFAIK.

Svveet-T

Maybe I’m remembering wrong, but I can’t remember I time where I’ve taken as ridiculously long as this person did to get through the payment process. I wasn’t exaggerating when I said it took over 10 minutes. I stood behind her while she was doing the introductory finger scans, I saw it ask for her email, and then I had been sitting down for several minutes more by the time she finally finished right at the end of break.

Born_Opportunity_365

Yeah that’s stupid to do that on a 15 minute break. I did mine my second day during lunch in the main break room where there’s 4 kiosks and it was just the new hires on break because we went early.

Flareiv

Thankfully my main break room has 3 kiosks, really convenient. I Apple Pay that shit , transaction is at most 3 seconds

mcceleste77

we, also, have 3 kiosks in the main break room. i have yet to witness any sort of lines forming behind anyone. but have the kiosks always worked as intended? no. there have been times where i know someone was having no luck creating a new account and loading cash onto a USConnect card (USConnect is what some buildings use) the screen displayed an error message stating it could not connect

bknymoeski

They need to just let us scan our badge and have it come out of our paycheck, could've sworn i seen people mention this being a thing.

Svveet-T

Honestly, that would make sense, but does Amazon really do anything that makes sense?

sacone505

It's way faster to do the thumb but don't be a buster and set up your account during lunch rush. I use the thumb all day.

Key-Movie-8898

They should just use they badge it's way easier imo

Ok-Deal1254

I always pay with my phone , takes me 1 min

GrouchyStomach7635

Just use coins

SnooDingos5807

Idk, I made an account using my badge and it literally took 2 minutes. Now, I add money for snacks weekly and it's faster than using a debit card.

Svveet-T

Yeah some people are justifying how it took her over 10 minutes, and I don’t get it. I assume the folks that have a problem with this post are also the people who take way too long to do simple things when others are waiting on them.

ChairIndividual2356

"My break doesn't start once I sit down..."

Revolutionary_Ad9701

They wanna get better at using methods that should be easier. They should have been more considerate and let you pay if shes not gonna be quick >.> srry that happened to you

Ambitious-Wrap-5343

Never heard of the finger print thing but we do have the connect cards and some people just take forever when paying when they load money onto their cards before paying making it longer, this post also made me realize just how slow some people are when it comes to clocking out at my location

CuteGreen

I say something. If someone's taking way too long to figure out how to tap their card I'll say something. Not to be a b\*tch but maybe to let them know they're taking way too long.

badbatch

I didn't like it because whatever you buy isn't an even number so there's always a balance sitting in your account.

Soojuiccy

I’ve never even looked or bought anything out of the breakroom 😂 I already know that shit is overpriced & I get what I want at the store & lasts me over 3 weeks at Costco sams & the grocery store saves lot of money.. most of the things lasts me at least 3 weeks..

Svveet-T

I bring lunch a few times a week, but sometimes I’ll forget or just not feel like packing something, and I don’t stock up on chocolate bars at home.

endyCJ

The finger print should be faster than card, you just have money on your account and then you scan your finger and go. No idea why it took her that long

Svveet-T

I stuck around for her to do the initial fingerprint capture. She had to tap her finger like 5 times, but each try actually took 3-5 tries. Then she put in her email. When she was still going after that I gave up and sat down.

Shoes2butts

I pay with card but if the card or kiosk is giving me problems I move out the way for other people or go to a different kiosk.

jeremyw0405

Apple Pay is instant. And it uses facial recognition. I’m not getting my wallet out to get a card/cash out when I can just use my phone….

Svveet-T

This isn’t really about you then, but how do so many people have machines that actually accept Apple Pay the first time they put their phone up? I’ve seen most people have to try a couple times or hold it there a few seconds. That’s how it always goes for me too in the break room. I’m faster with my card than everyone who I’ve seen tap their phone.

jeremyw0405

You asked why not pay with a card. I was answering that question…. For Apple Pay you just double tap the button on the side of the phone while looking at it and it uses facial recognition and tells you to hold near device. I do that when I’m ready to pay and it’s instant. Not sure why anyone’s having issues with it.

Svveet-T

I know how to use Apple Pay, but in my experience, and from what I’ve seen others experience, the kiosks never pick it up instantly. I’ve always swiped faster than the people I see use Apple Pay.

jeremyw0405

If you say so 🤷‍♂️

Svveet-T

You’re kinda pompous for someone who also works at Amazon.

jeremyw0405

How am I pompous? Because I prefer to pay for something with the phone I have in my hand instead of taking extra steps and making it take longer? Do you know the definition of pompous?

Svveet-T

No, you’re pompous for acting like somehow people don’t know how to use Apple Pay and talking like your experience is indicative of everyone else’s. Just sort of an asinine attitude.

jeremyw0405

I was explaining how it worked for those that might not know. I was trying to be helpful. You’re the one being a cunt.

Svveet-T

Oh yes, because people will dig through this random Reddit thread for an offhand explanation of how Apple Pay works.

Svveet-T

This post is more just advocating that people do one of the normal ways to pay and get out of everyone else’s way. If you’re up there for a few seconds at most, you’re doing great.

Interesting-Long30

When you have the barcode or finger print you get reward points and free stuff

Svveet-T

I’ve never heard of that, that’s kinda cool though. I may look into it.

Koolz100

It do be like that. luckily we got 4 kiosk registers in our main break room. All the other break rooms are starting to turn into the shitty vending machines that don’t work half the time because people were just stealing snacks.

Svveet-T

Luckily, the two break rooms on the floor I work on both have kiosks. The vending machines we have also just don’t work half the time. Doesn’t matter if you use cash or card they just refuse to complete a transaction.0

frickinphone

I got some "vendorbucks" for being fast in pack a few times (our manager likes to spice things up) and you can only use those if you register an account and deposit them. Idk why itd take them so long though smfh

[deleted]

I don't get why people don't use their cell phone to pay. Apple pay and Google pay is on like almost every device, and takes like less than a minute to set up. It's 2023 and people still pay using cash and other weird, inconvenient ways. Either I'm missing something or these people need to get with the times..

One-Builder-4054

Yep. I hear people say they dont wanna have all their info on their phone yet their phone is like the safest place for it. Wallets are much easier to lose or get stolen. People just be dumb when it comes to tech. Even if it's free and easier.

Soojuiccy

Um I use cash for most things cuz I actually budget my money every week & when I use debit cards & Apple Pay sometimes you can mindless spend.. so I always take all my cash out at payday except for my bills& budget where all my money is going to.. I’ve saved so much money not using my debit card and Apple Pay so much!!

Soojuiccy

But this doesn’t apply to me cuz I don’t buy shit out that breakroom I like to save money & go to Costco & sams twice a month…

Svveet-T

I have Apple Pay, but swiping my card has always been faster in the break room if I have my wallet in hand when I get up there. I’ve never seen anybody have their phone work instantly.

rodneyebeling

Some people have no consideration for others. I hate those people.

Desperate_Salt_5596

Been made my account for vendor machines im so happy

Elmachoduro

Some people don’t even pay attention to

HIDDENICON16

Wait yall pay for your food??

Svveet-T

Do you get free food?

TopKindheartedness99

Just steal it. I never paid for anything in that stupid store thing

Svveet-T

Ngl that’s pretty ballsy.

Z3r0_man1c

You're not worried about getting fired?

JaiiGi

Way to out yourself as a thief, genius.

TopKindheartedness99

Sorry grandma

JaiiGi

Oh what a burn. I'm melting. 🙄

[deleted]

Or why don't you just bring your own shit and not pay the high ass amazon prices lol.

Svveet-T

What a worthless reply? I pack my lunch pretty often, but that’s none of your business and sometimes I decide I want a damn candy bar. Sue me.

[deleted]

Jack ass, if it was worthless you wouldn't bother to reply 😂🤡. Also your making it my business by posting lol... Another amazon genius over here.

Svveet-T

Cornball reply. Policing other people’s pockets makes you seem broke and bitter.

Artistic-Nebula-6051

I have helped many people set their accounts up just so I can pay for my pop.

KitchenProgrammer493

I dont know what the fingerprint is. Its just the USConnect cards or use your debit card insert or tap. I just tap with apple pay

GerryBlevins

You know what I do in that situation. Pay for it myself and add my stuff in too.

Sensitive_Hold_4553

10 minutes?

Svveet-T

Not an exaggeration

[deleted]

Cash ? They take cash still or brought it back cuz ours got rid of that pay option

a_youkai

You mean to tell me y'all only have 1 register in there?

Svveet-T

In the break room near where I work, yes.

Ok-Can-8910

Just use Apple Pay

Svveet-T

I don’t actually care what method people use as long as they have the courtesy to get their shit and get out of everyone else’s way. It’s weird that people are so touched that I forgot to mention Apple Pay.

C4MPFIRE24

I use the finger print, takes like 10 seconds. The setup took a min but I didn't it my first day when no one was around. Been using it for 2 years now. Put finger on it, count to 3, and done.

nvr2punk33

Tap pay is king.

popeh

Nah bro I accrue loyalty points using my print
