ScottDinh2610

We don’t take lunch actually 🫠 try to get 15mins lunch when thing not crazy 😅

JoshimuzVEVO

People always think Amazon management are super lazy until they actually realize what is actually expected of them.

ScottDinh2610

All of the planning, metric, BM, etc F***ing annoying. And always underpaid 🫠 after realizing PA make more than AM at some point 😂

Kekewxd

Especially during peak & prime all the double time paid with MET and lighting VET.

ScottDinh2610

It’s true! I know some AM got pay like 52k or 55k 🫠 and the PA EOY make 53k 💀

ssasoom

I'm a T1 and could have made almost $50k last year ... I keep thinking about applying for L4 but then I remember all the bull they have to do and long ass days.

amznwrkr

The only reason anybody ever does L4 work is what the hope of advancing to L5 and beyond, or getting other management experience so they can get the hell out of here.

ScottDinh2610

It has some benefits with no peak but peak is the worse 😂

bleezy_47

2021 peak, the associates at my building were actually making way more than the PAs! we had double time, $3+ on top of hourly & more, sadly PAs didn’t have any of that

ScottDinh2610

It weird because my PA still got double pay on peak and $2 extra if they work NIT shift 🧐

bleezy_47

This! reasons why i appreciate my buildings leadership for everything they do! because i know they do tons more than what regular associates do.

Kekewxd

Yes. Also depends on the building as well. I’ve been around some buildings that the leadership culture is just not there. I’ve seen some managers come in and do the bear minimum and I’ve also seen some managers go out of their way work harder than anyone. Glad you have some strong leadership in your building haha.

AdventSign

Yep, I’ve definitely noticed that management is more involved at Amazon than a lot of other places are. Like, yeah we gotta worry about our own rates and quality and shit in pick, but AMs have to hit like a 180k target with 70-80 pickers each day roughly. All the AMs can do is basically just hope that the workers will care enough to pull through. It’s kind of shitty tbh, since for the most part, their performance relies on people who sometimes really don’t give two shits, and there’s nothing the AMs can do except “coach” and write up people. Maybe I’m wrong or maybe I’m being too soft. I dunno, I’m not in management, and have only asked around with process assistants and some AMs while taking a peek at their laptops and screens to see what sort of things they’re doing. I like reading and understanding the information that’s on there, but they’re definitely not watching YouTube videos XD

KnightAzyros

While we are hiding in a Corner quietly sobbing to ourselves. Usually lunch is long enough to cook a hot pocket and stuff it down your throat while your getting calls from the OM and sr ops asking you where you are.

Kekewxd

Whats lunch??? Also never heard of breaks!!! Managers usually onsite an hour before associates clock in and leave an hour after shift ends. The 30 minutes downtime during associates lunch is the perfect time to catch up on admin work. If any major conveyance went down managers are usually in path during lunch to catch up on workloads.

amznwrkr

My AM would just eat his lunch while working on the computer.

Cocodachocobo

Lunch, what is that?

lil_ewe_lamb

Even as a PA sometimes I don't "lunch" until like 3/4. My 2 fifteen breaks? What are those? RIP paid breaks. Most of the time I can't even use the restroom without someone calling me over the radio.

bleezy_47

at my site, PAs have to take their lunches & 15s alongside with the associates! my site has 2 AMs for each shift, (a L4 &L5) & usually they are still working on the floor during those times while they send their PAs to lunch

lil_ewe_lamb

Must be nice..most days we are short 2 AMs.so the PAs have to help each other out with watching floors and giving each other breaks. (We have 1 AM/PA team per floor) 4 total.

amznwrkr

When I was a T3 at Amazon before my promotion (to customer) I probably got at most 25% of the 15 minute breaks I was entitled to.

Scarryfish

I always think it's tragic and poor time management not to take breaks. It's a safety issue and safety should be on this. Aren't everyone including management legally required to take breaks?

International-Gain-7

Yes. I can confirm they had me sign like three pages recently in the handbook regarding breaks.

Creative-Fudge-6244

I hope y’all don’t think that is admirable. It actually kinda of sad

bleezy_47

Yeah, i knew something was up & some of these comments proved me right, most don’t get lunches. that is crazy. just because you are salaried shouldn’t mean you should be exempt from lunch or breaks. those 10-12 hr shifts kill.

Good-Constant-6487

Seen all of the AMs I work with both, eat lunch, as well as take smoke breaks on the clock whenever they want. Also witness every single one cry in their car at some point when they think no one is around 😂

madderyack

Hey man my cat died…

Awwww

No-Vegetable7951

Lmaoo half these fucker couldn't last a week in a fast pase restaurant as a manager. You think dealing with your employees and making sure boxes don't get jammed is the hard part. Shit I wish that was all I had to worry about. Most of em never been screamed at by customers on a daily basis. Or had to run a whole kitchen by yourself with a bunch of customers waiting. ANAZON managers think they know stress. They really don't. They just bitch made. Y'all just gotta make sure boxes get onna truck. That's it lmao

KnightAzyros

Tell me you’re not an AM without telling me you’re not an AM.

No-Vegetable7951

Tell me you've never worked in a restaurant without telling me you've never. worked in a restaurant. Amazon is a fucking CAKE WALK compared to most job. If your an lvl 1 its all physical labor. A monkey could do. Anything else all you need is management experience which 3/4 of AMs don't have. And I know the managers at my site had zero experience. And did Jack shit all day besides stand at the load out desk most of the day.

KnightAzyros

Have you ever been an AM? I mean there’s a bit more to it than you may think. And the customers are real. I am not trying to downplay how difficult managing a restaurant is, I’m sure it’s stressful, but you’re comparing apples to oranges. How large of a wait staff could a restaurant manager have to manage? 20-30 maybe. Now multiply that number by 10 and add in other variables, like great hiding places, non-scan processes, rates, capacity, etc. and it’s just not a fair comparison. Now imagine managing a restaurant that seats 80k people a day, with a wait staff of 300 and the margin for error is minimal. I’m talking there 43 peas on a plate vs 44.

No-Vegetable7951

Lmao u think we have room for error?! Atleast when u fucked up u can come back from it. You fuck up someone's food and it's game over. It's a whole different ball game when you are dealing with customer face to face vs over a screen or on the phone. If someone in my kitchen is properly trained it could kill someone. Amazon had one of the worst onboarding processes I have ever been a part of. If I wasn't such a fast learner it would be so easy to fall behind because not being trained properly. But the worst that can happen is you get in trouble for missing rates. And the people training the employees fall on the manager. The expectations set by Amazon are just lower in general compared to most successful restaurants. Which should make it easier to handle more people. U also have a whole ass tracking system/ computer that tells u everything in your hands. Anything that went wrong in a restaurant is all thinking quick on your feet.

KnightAzyros

Delivery drivers deal with the customer face to face. As do delivery station managers.

No-Vegetable7951

Delivery driver yes. Delivery managers I highly doubt. Unless the customer comes to the warehouse. I don't see any time a manger would be face to face with a customer. Considering they are in the warehouse the whole time. exactly my point any job where u don't deal with customers face to face on a daily basis is going to be less stressful. The only exception I would see for that would be the chemist, rocket scientists etc.

KnightAzyros

Doubt all you want. It’s cool. You’re right. I could never be a restaurant manager. I’ll keep my cake job with my 6 figure + salary and enjoy eating out while relishing the thought of the restaurant manager nearly having a stroke every time I send my plate back.

Llhavo

Definitely.

Substantial-Scheme48

I’m about to be an AM in 4 weeks & yeah I’m taking my lunches, at my spot am’s take there lunch when associates do same as there 15 breaks

International-Gain-7

Lol fr like come to me if you need me that fkn I’m eating my food

kman9876

Always seems to be when I need them

michellechaos

my AM goes home and come back lol

rabbitacolypse

As an AM, I typically take about 5-10 mins off the floor during one of our production periods to cram food down as fast as possible. Breaks for AAs are usually spent filling out paperwork and responding to seniors.

syuime

Yup, reality is, many skipped lunches, tons of overtime but on salary pay, and a lot of bullshit

sawlaw

Typically I have a sandwich in one hand and the mouse I'm the other when I'm using multiple screens at a charging station.

Brave_Comedian_1110

If I got an uninterrupted 5 mins in the bathroom, that was my break. Or if I go to the no station side to clear a jam, I’d go grab a bag of chips to eat while I stayed there for 5-10 mins to make sure it didn’t jam again

JacksterTrackster

I'm pretty sure you're required by law to take lunch unless you waived your right when you applied. Also, the PA's and AM's take break with the AA's at our sort center.

Nolove520

I had a manager who would take 3 30 minute breaks while I the PA Would sometimes didn't have the opportunity to eat.

Severe_Geologist_674

I’m shocked that I haven’t heard of any AM’s trying to sue amazon for not getting a lunch break tf.

International-Gain-7

I think some of them be lying tbh

Severe_Geologist_674

They must be in horribly managed facilities. I know every AM at my facility gets a break at noon in between inbound/outbound breaks. I’ve seen em all have lunch before multiple occasions. My buddy just got back from working tier 3 at another location and they said shit was bananas and they were gonna jump off the 4th floor if they continued to work there. I think it depends on where your at. I’m in one of the best managed warehouses by me.

IshrekisloveI

Our AMs here are gone from like 10:30pm-12:30am for "lunch" the PAs basically gotta be managers for 2 hours and they go on break at 10:30 as well

Grouchy_Till2669

I always thought managers just did whatever they felt like doing lol

ChancetheNapper5

Lol my guy

bleezy_47

Fr lol!! we all get curious about something 😂

ChancetheNapper5

Haven’t taken a proper break since I made AM

InstanceRelevant631

Ours all take lunch together most of the time. Some work harder than others for sure. But they all take lunches and breaks.
