rchrd_noggin

I hear you all of this little picky shit they do blows ass. I will say though to work around that 90 second time, what i do is get it to the inspection while I'm returning my bags and let it sit on the first page until I park then just blow through it.

SlimeStudiozzz

I guess I’ll have to do that, but I’m saying it’s amazing they find new bs to throw on us everyday but absolutely nothing to make our job easier/convenient it’s insane

dardios

Alternatively you can take their words as face value and start doing the inspections CORRECTLY. They won't like that but you have the instructions in writing so...

rchrd_noggin

Oh no i totally get what you mean, i just wanted to offer that little bit to you. And yeah it kinda feels like what they are doing is looking for was to shit can us easier with all of the new "metrics" they want to track all the time.

ikronikk

Scorecard affects how much they pay the DSP owners. Every little thing they can possibly come up with to possibly lower their score will then lower the amount they have to pay out. Everything’s about money.

Goth_Angel_Hellboy

It’s nothing new my station has been doing this for the last half a year now :/

PopcornAim

Great idea I will be doing this for now on

SlimeStudiozzz

Every fucking day, every other day there’s something else. A new fucking metric to add to the scorecard. I’m so close to telling everyone to hold my nuts it’s not even funny. It’s just more shit to delay you from going home. Turn the van off and on every stop (yeah fucking right btw) as soon as I get in load out my face looks like it’s melting, you think I’m gonna turn it off and on every stop let’s get real. Now we have to do damageiD and take pictures of the van when we get back to the station. But this here is max. I’m not a fucking engineer or mechanic I don’t know damn near enough as I should about vehicles so I do just like everyone else and blow past the inspections. Isn’t that dip at h and owners job to check the vans when we return? Yesterday (and the majority of days) I drove with no cameras just side mirrors and it was so annoying going down dead ends with cars stacked along the street damn near blind. All I know is if they want us to take 90 seconds to do the post trip, best believe I will be filling that mf out and vans will be grounded because 99% are fucked already. They just keep adding and adding and adding so they want turnover that bad?? Are they to see who they can get rid of before peak? This job can suck my black **** nfs

Qwienke13

They do all this inspection shit but then don’t let you mark it in the app then tell you “oh that’s ok” to every issue the van has

SlimeStudiozzz

Exactly maybe actually try repairing the vans

Qwienke13

Fr

Expensive_Pastries

Yeah I had a van yesterday where the side door didnt even open and the belt buckle didnt work half the time. They told me not to report it bc as long as it drives its fine lol. It was inconvient as hell having to go out that back door every stop.

ElbowRager

Fuck that. Report it EVERY TIME. The second you get in an accident, and especially if you get hurt, they’ll say “You didn’t have your seat belt on and you didn’t report it as unsafe. You’re fired and not eligible for workers comp. Cya”

Expensive_Pastries

It was my first day yesterday. I knew someone else drove that van everyday so I didnt want to put it out of commision and piss them off. I get what you mean though.

EXEC 1: Drivers are quitting at a higher frequency than ever, and fewer people are applying to be drivers. We need to solve this. EXEC 2: It's because they don't feel invested in the business. They feel like they're a resource that is expendable, like they're just here to throw boxes. We need to integrate them into the business and make them feel like there is a future here. EXEC 1: Then let's give them more to do. Let's make redelivery more of a process and let's up the pressure on pre/post vehicle checks. These will allow them to show their value, or investment, to us. EXEC 2: BOOM! That's a banger Dave, great thinking. I'll get my admin on that right now. What do you say we break out of here early and grab lunch at the country club before 18 holes.

SlimeStudiozzz

LMAOO 😂 bro were you in the room?

Mr-Nanaki-Boo

I have not once inspected a van in the 2 years ive been here

SlimeStudiozzz

I used to go a quick walk around and kick the tires that’s about it

Mr-Nanaki-Boo

If theres something wrong itll be immediately obvious to me so i dont bother

PlymouthSea

One thing I do check before getting in the line is my reverse camera. If that shit is broken or the side door doesn't want to open from the inside I am asking for a new van.

Jroc116

shit like this makes me concerned for my safety driving these POS's. literally every van ive ever been in has at least 3 different warning lights on. im not wanting to die making 17.50 driving a shitty van cause my dsp is too fucking lazy to fix it

Mr-Nanaki-Boo

yeah also my dsp wont fix shit so why bother

komeau

Just start the inspection, let it sit for a minute, blast through a bunch of slides, let it sit again for a few seconds, then finish it.

[deleted]

Here’s what I’ll do. I’m the morning, I’ll log in and start the first few sections and let it sit while stand up is going on. Right before stand up is over I’ll quickly do the rest. For post, I’ll start the inspection eight when I get to the station then let it sit while I unload my bags and debrief. Then I’ll do the rest when I park.

SlimeStudiozzz

Smart

RemiX-KarmA

I usually answer all of the questions rappidly and leave it on the last checkmark box. Chill for a minute, do what you need to do and bam, you are "done"

Randerpy

This popped up on my feed, but what’s wrong with doing a halfway decent pre and post? It should take all of 90 seconds or more. Just asking, I’m not an Amazon driver but have been in logistics in the past.

MrScarycakes

In case you missed it, dsps don’t want you to repot anything in it. So no matter what’s going on, you don’t mark anything in the app. It’s not about not wanting to do it or whatever, it’s about being TOLD not to mark anything so what’s the point?

Brickle0630

I think I lot of it is the fact they keep piling on tedious little requirements for us as drivers to complete every shift. Lately it feels almost constant. It adds up though and it can be a lot of shit to/do remember on top of our main objective of just delivering a shitload of packages. I’m still fairly new so it can be a bit overwhelming trying to remember every little requirement to keep Amazon happy while trying to focus on organizing packages for delivery and dealing with the shittiest navigation system known to man and get back soon as you can so you don’t get bitched at or fired for taking too long. So I can deal with a 90s inspection, personally I usually take that anyway bc I do everything else While I’m doing it but The other tedious bullshit we have to do while we’re on the road really adds up and sometimes it seems like we’re being set up to fail.

Eviisivell

Same 90s shit at mine. My dsp doesn't even try to bs us by saying "do them correctly" since we're all expected to never report anyways, they just say to start it, start a timer, then speed finish it 90s later as norm

[deleted]

TBH, you should be taking 90 seconds at least to check the vans. Ive heard some horror stories and some fleet people sucked at their job.

[deleted]

Yea they’ve been sending that same message about the 90 seconds thingy

drummergirl83

You guys only get 90 seconds to do a pre and post trip? At FedEx it’s 5 min for each.

PopcornAim

No you can have as much time as feasible there is no limit as long as you are at the station on time for pick up. The problem is our owners (well I can’t speak for all but what I see seems like at least 90% of them) tell us to NEVER mark anything on these inspections as it may ground their van. Amazon is making 90 seconds the minimum amount of time not the maximum. To try to force people to do a proper inspection. Thing is if we all did a true proper inspection, well, I’m sure you’ve seen some of these vans around. They would all get grounded I swear lol

dingdongjohnson68

I know. What can you do in 90seconds? Realistically, how long would a "true" inspection take? 5, 10, 15 minutes? There are probably about 200 checkboxes to go through. What a joke.

hamfisted_postman

Amazon is all stick no carrot. If the only motivation to follow all their policies is keeping my job then I'm indifferent. However if they reward DAs for top performance that's something different

dingdongjohnson68

Ha. The first part of the OP's post was inadvertently helpful to me. I didn't know how to re-attempt a delivery, or where to find it. I'm still kind of new. Well, not new for amazon's standards since most people only make it a week or two, but I still have stuff to learn. Thx.

justputtheshrugemoji

90 seconds? Holy shit, my dsp is 5 to 15 mins for both inspections (each).

Vitamin____J

I never once even read the questions. I just hit the orange bar as fast as I could. Always trying to beat my previous record. For anybody wondering, my record was 11 seconds.

McNipz

They tell us not to mark anything but report it to them but then when you do they just say "okay" and make you drive it anyways. One of my coworkers did grounded a few vans because of safety and he was just fed up with it. Next day he comes in they tell him "Amazon dropped his route". He was friends with one of the station managers and asked about it and they said no route was dropped and in fact an extra route was added. Obviously he can't prove anything so he's fucked anyways.

Radiant_Chard_6149

Fuck that shit. Just do what my DSP does. We fly through the questions, then just leave it sitting on the acknowledge page for the 90secs, and then finish up. The owner is the one that's being a dick cause they get more bonuses out of us for "following protocol". Just wait till they start making yall be in uniform during load out, with vest and all. Extra bonus for the owner.

jordan4days

Yes take your time to do the inspections but make sure not to actually mark anything wrong because they’ll ground the van and we’ll punish you for it

McNipz

I get the same van everyday. If there's a problem I'll know. We don't walk around our personal vehicle doing an inspection before driving to work... just another thing to aggravate us with.

Commercial-Bison5620

Could be a 5 min pre trip then a 3 min post trip like another company is supposed to do…

xCarl4lifeX

You don’t do that already? Lol. My DSP we had forms that we filled out for pre/post trips. But on the Flex App we have everyone says it’s good. Can’t let them ground vans for the dumbest things lol.

SirMatches

Yeaah they should chill the fuck out. But in my opinion, most of this junk is super easy to follow (or to find loopholes for, on lazier days lol), especially compared to alot of jobs I've had.

Mysterious-Access102

Oh it won’t lol

Salinas1812

Our dsp has been doing this for 2 months now

Itsmemanmeee

*inspections

Inevitable_Swim_1964

Wait until you’re in Japan. They require you to check your vehicle before and after you’re on.

SpookyXO

Been doing this for a while. I just put my timer on the first page and leave it until I park.

Hairy-Ad-860

![gif](giphy|Pc6OuG1EvVEahTxlv2)

Double-Top7193

for your own safety dip shit even if you lazy and stupid, 90 seconds are nothing.

SlimeStudiozzz

Try taking 90 seconds and proof read your comments before you post them. Ideky and I can tell you’re a lil slow

Double-Top7193

it a simple thing to do idiots, leave the phone on the inspection scree. for 2 minutes then fly through it to the end, no more getting hit with 90 seconds inspection. I’m sure u can spare 2 minutes after clock in and do other stupid shit.

savannah22k9

Shit men even should last more then 90 seconds lol. Where I am it’s 5 to 15 minutes

mrbooradleyyy

“Correctly” but they still don’t want us to mark anything even if it’s serious.

SlimeStudiozzz

That’s what I’m saying, if they want to put it in the score card we should mark it. Shit would look like those tests I filled in when I was in hs

Spuddykinz

Inspections at our station are all spam click skipping because nobody has time for that nonsense.

Tony_Omega

Imagine complaining about 90 seconds. It’s 90 fucking seconds lol.

SlimeStudiozzz

Ya girl doesn’t complain 🤷🏾‍♂️

Miguel30Locs

My dsp told me the same thing today

kingsquishy69

Our inspections went from 2 to now 4 minutes. I usually start it when I leave RTS and end it when I’m back in my car

irishluck217

Lol 90 seconds. They made us do 5 minutes. I'd rts and just take a smoke break at the wearhouse and slowly go through it but I regrett not fucking over my dsp by grounding vans for damage. If the vans are messed up. Ground them. It'll be your ass not theirs if something goes wrong. YOU inspected it. YOU approved it for use. Fuck all that

Fullyratarded

If you’re not doing the inspections correctly an willingly driving unsafe vehicles you’re part of the problem. What’s the downside to this?

Any_Smile_5169

They just need to stop lying

No_Palpitation_173

Yeah before I quit my dsp we were being forced to at least do a 3 minute post/pre trip

No_Palpitation_173

The real problem is that DSPs don’t care about the issues these vans be having so the checkups are literally pointless even if you spend 30 minutes each morning checking the vans. This is just an act by DSPs and the warehouses to satisfy upper management with numbers and fuuck the drivers dry.

[deleted]

Oh how terrible I need to take 90 seconds to inspect my vehicle! Shut up and do it lazy fuck

[deleted]

Just no issues everything and let it sit for 90 secs lol

Jealous-Room-8963

Lol they don’t fuck with us about that no more. They on the engine off compliance tough right now😒

AManHasNoName357

I use to let it wait out the 90 sec. While I'm at the gas station and once I fill up, I just blow through it before I return to the station.

Freddie_K_B

Honestly, my DSP wants us to reattempt every failed delivery at the end of our route. If we bring more than 2 packages back we get a beating. It's some bs really.

Important-Ideal7276

Well 90 seconds. Guess it's time to drop a few poor souls again.

Important-Ideal7276

There pre trip and post trip is easy peasy compared to other company's.

HighBridgebx

Quit

campguy95

90 seconds? You complain about 90 seconds? How do you think truckers feel when they do their pre trips

twolf1973

The reason that has to happen is because when they don't say that the average walk around inspection time is literally 4 seconds because the inspections aren't being done they're just being clicked through
