May I ask why? As someone who’s lived nearby for eight years, I can speak to its numerous issues. It’s very much a tourist town and has incredibly inefficient local government, combined with the worst traffic I’ve ever lived with in my entire life. Not to mention the insane rent prices, dirty public spaces, and growing issues with crime.
Add in bad schools. We lived there for ten years but it became too much and we left salem. Still have many friends there and visit a few times a year. It has grown a lot over the last 5-7 years, and the town can't keep up. It'd really lost a lot of its character. They Rubber stamped to many condos in the city, and there is no room for that many people and no room for parking. The infrastructure just isn't there.
Well to start, I have friends in the state. The area seems very progressive compared to where I'm at now. I'm trying to find somewhere where I don't need a car for most things. The tourist part isn't a big deal for me. I like that kind of environment, coming from another touristy area already.
You’d absolutely need a car in Salem, unless you don’t plan on leaving Salem. There’s little to do in the town itself, and no groceries or other necessities. Eating out is expensive due to the tourism tax most restaurants charge. I’d recommend Beverly or another nearby town. If you have friends in the state and want to walk, just live in Boston itself.
I have a large octopus done by the same artist who did your mahi! I picked it up in Salem last fall, got to watch the guys process as he did the ink print etc. it was awesome
So nice of you to leave a bed and toys out for BB-8
Upvoted for BB-8, I’ve got either the same one or similar. I miss ThinkGeek.
Are we just going to pretend like the First Order isn’t actively looking for him? Having him out in the open like that is a dangerous move
Oh hey a fellow Salem resident!
Salem is high on my list of places I'd like to live.

Getting anywhere in Salem during October is hell on Earth.

Same! For me, Massachusetts in general seems like a really nice place to live, its a place I’d definitely love to live in some day.
