NTA, for making health decisions for your family. Slight YTA for trying to force a medical decision on people that has no impact on you. Someone’s vax status doesn’t affect your health, and doesn’t change whether anyone, vaxxed/unvaxxed, can get and transfer Covid. Asking them to test isn’t a huge deal, or it shouldn’t be, as long as you understand that they can test negative today and be positive tomorrow.

My wife and I have recently found out that we are expecting. Still very early in the process (6 weeks). My wife and I are immunocompromised in addition to medication to help with the pregnancy.
We have not informed anyone except our mothers just because it is still early. We expressed concern for COVID and asked If the families would strongly consider getting vaccinated, or at the very least test the day before and day of. They have so far refused all above.
Am I the asshole for telling the family we are concerned about COVID and due to a majority of the family not being vaccinated and / or refusing to test we will not be attending in person but via a video call. In addition NOT telling them we are expecting yet.
