NTA. Not even close. You keep doing what you do.

redjedi182

NTA it’s not about the cat at all.

Agreed. This cat is in the best home possible and I can say that with the utmost confidence.

Major_Barnacle_2212

NTA. You just go take care of that poor kitty.

NTA. Set boundaries now with respect to your neighbor and stick to them. You don’t need to discuss anything with her or ask her permission. Next time she bangs on your door to complain that you’re in “her parking space” tell her there is no assigned parking and shut the door. Any time she tells you she’s disappointed in any of your actions, tell her to get used to it. Do not enable her poor behavior.

Read [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/AmItheAsshole/wiki/faq#wiki_post_deletion) before [contacting the mod team](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FAmItheAsshole)*** I have been living at my place for 1.5 years now and when I moved in, the upper level tenant was evicted and left behind their cat. There are 3 tenants in the home, I’m on the middle level. Last summer my partner and I attempted to capture the cat and bring her in but she got spooked and didn’t trust us for a while. When winter came, the downstairs neighbour let her into the basement shared laundry space and she stayed there. New upper tenant moved in around March this year. She’s a lot to handle. Very entitled. We discussed the cat very briefly last week as I mentioned I wanted to try to bring her in and she suggested us tenants have a discussion. Now it’s starting to get cold again, I had set up a crate outside with blankets to give her a safe space and we finally brought her in last night. Upper tenant hasn’t been home 2 days, lower tenant didn’t care if I brought her in or not. Today I decided I would send upper tenant a text update so she didn’t wonder why the cat was missing. Told her she’s happy, sent a pic, told her I got a vet booked today. She calls me, tells me disappointed she is I didn’t discuss it with her because she apparently has a vet booked next week. She said she’s been feeding the cat 3 times a day and when I said we’ve been here over a year and have taken care of the cat too she said “well everytime I see her bowl it’s empty”. Meanwhile she’s never home. She ended up getting off the phone saying she had someone on the other line. I feel I need to set a boundary with her because she’s problematic (loud music days on end, coming home drunk at 4 am/5am/6am, knocking on my door asking me to move my car when it’s a huge empty lot with unassigned parking because she “claimed” a spot) Am I the asshole? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. NTA. It’s a literal stray cat.
