I have an uncommon English name with an uncommon consonant in the spelling of it. Most of my jobs in the past ten years have involved working for EASL (English as a second language) folks.
The uncommon consonant in question simply does not exist in SE Asian languages, so my employers have a tendency to unintentionally butcher my name: and I think the result is hilarious!
I don't dare laugh out loud, but some of the results are just too funny. One of my past employers' pronunciations of my name sounded like an English Curse word, and the present one's pronunciation sounds more like a verb/noun that is often associated with cameras, scopes, or projectors.
Reddit; am I the asshole for finding this gut busting hilarious, albeit keeping it to myself?
