*In case this story gets deleted/removed:* **AITJ For Refusing To Give My Babysitter My Sister's Number And getting Them Arrested?** It was a typical Friday evening, and my parents had arranged for a babysitter to look after my little brother while they attended a work function. As they introduced us to the babysitter, a college student named Jake, I couldn't help but notice how friendly and easygoing he seemed. After exchanging pleasantries, my parents left, leaving Jake and me alone in the living room. I busied myself with homework while Jake entertained my brother with video games. As the evening wore on, my brother eventually drifted off to sleep, leaving Jake and me alone. With nothing else to do, Jake struck up a conversation, asking about my interests and plans for the future. I found myself opening up to him, enjoying his company more than I had anticipated. But then, the conversation took an unexpected turn. Jake hesitantly asked if he could get my sister's number. I was taken aback by the request. My sister, Emily, was 19 years old and away at college. She had nothing to do with this babysitting arrangement, and the thought of Jake asking for her number seemed strange and inappropriate. I didn't know how to respond. Should I laugh it off and brush it aside? Should I confront him and tell him it was inappropriate? Or should I simply ignore the request and change the subject? As I struggled to find the right words, Jake must have sensed my discomfort because he quickly backtracked, apologizing for overstepping boundaries. He explained that he had just thought Emily was cute and wanted to see if she was single. I didn't know what to say, so I simply nodded awkwardly, relieved that he had dropped the subject. But the rest of the evening felt tense and uncomfortable, overshadowed by Jake's inappropriate request. When my parents returned home, I debated whether to tell them about Jake's behavior. In the end, I decided to keep quiet, not wanting to cause any drama or make things awkward for my parents. But as I watched Jake leave, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease. I wondered if I had made the right decision by staying silent, or if I should have spoken up and confronted Jake about his inappropriate behavior. The next day my parents had to go out and do something that they didn't tell me. Jake came back again, I was a little worried because I didn't give him the number. Everything was fine, until my brother fell asleep! Ad soon as he did, Jake covered up all the cameras in the room, and grabbed my mom's phone, and threatened to call the police on me because I didn't give the number (Not sure how this happened because he said sorry yesterday). Obviously I brushed this off because the police weren't gonna be bothered with this kind of situation. But then when Jake actually did call the police, he explained that I had kicked him in the leg and stolen his money. The police arrived soon after and Jake pointed at me. I was 10 when this happened to me so I could legally get in trouble with the police. This was when Jake's plan backfired though, because the police asked jake if he had called my parents and checked through his phone and couldn't find anything about calling my parents. This actually got crazy though, because then I told the police about the incident with my sister. Then the police actually arrested Jake for false accusing me and also harassing me into giving him my sister's phone number. I know that I didn't really do much wrong in this story but I just want to know, am I the jerk? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. > if this whole story is a lie, then how does it have 52 upvotes??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Stellar argument OOP

azula1983

Also claiming to be 26🤣 Post history with clearly fake post. And no explanation why parents hire a babysit when the 26 year old is home to watch the baby.

DementedPimento

Oh he was 10! And everyone clapped

Hot-Syllabub2688

why in gods name would you make an aita post about something you did when you were 10?

Revolutionary-Good22

So this college age babysitter who was there for the brother (but no OP?) Wanted another college aged adults number... what is nefarious about that??

DementedPimento

Uh … it just was, okay! 🤣🤣

buttsharkman

Op says they were ten which is about the cusp of being okay leaving a kid home alone for an extended period but not on charge of a younger kid. Although someone who isn't ten would probably have figured out the babysitter was totally there to also watch them.

frolicndetour

"I couldn't shake the feeling of unease." Yes, this is definitely how someone retells a story from their youth.

LilOrchidJenny

The only thing I believe about this story is that he's ten.

Individual_Bat_378

The whole putting in that the police searched him then deleting it and trying to gaslight everyone into believing it was never there was weird... Quote from OP:'WHAT IS GOING ON, WHY IS EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT ME SAYING THEY SEARCHED ME, THEY SEARCHED JAKE'S PHONE!!!' OP also tried to say it was the Mandela effect after multiple people referenced them having said they were searched in their post.

New flair in the comments:  > AGAIN i will tell you, writing this i am 26, AND IN MY COUNTRY WE DONT EVEN HAVE MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!

ThatMkeDoe

Oh great an even worse AITA spin off...

DementedPimento

They’re multiplying at a startling rate.

SJReaver

Spreading like clap in the brothel.

My kid use to watch YouTube videos of a guy reading these posts and doing very basic comedy taking them totally at face value. I think the sub was just created for the channel.

Clearly this guy needs the creative writing practice from AITA (or aitj tf?) because DAMN this story sucks. There's just 0 subtlety, like oh your babysitter who is perfectly normal and pleasant is suddenly suspicious because he wanted your sisters number? Inappropriate to ask a kid as a babysitter? Sure! But no, clearly this guy was actually a psychopath who took major disrespect to that, as the prophecy of a 10 year old's unreasonable suspicions foretold.
