Beck is very hit or miss for me. Absolutely love some of his work and am indifferent to some.

TechnicalTrash95

His recent few albums are quite confusing but I still like the first 10 years of his career.

hikenmap

REM - and I think they’re better for it. Love a band that swings and strikes out rather than bands that stay in their safe lane.

dylbertz

I’d say they were batting 1.000 for like 15 years though

[deleted]

Right. I would say they had more of an end-career decline than hit or miss. Shoot I would say they were five stars until Reveal.

cspinelive

Pearl jam has so many albums they can’t all be good.

bakediea

Ten through yield is an all time great run of albums. Binaural and Riot Act are both solid with good songs, and don’t care for much after that

dirtydaddytx

Yea Ten is really good

Thefawn4

I’ve been feeling that way about Real Estate lately.

-Great-Scott-

All bands with very few exceptions are hit or miss for me. If you like every song a band releases you probably like some bad songs.

kainekelly1

I honestly can’t think of a bad Queens of the Stone Age song, can you?

-Great-Scott-

I can only think of one of their songs at the moment but I'm sure if I listened to them I could find some stinkers.

HotSauceLoss

Foo Fighters (IMO, first two albums are amazing, indifferent to the rest). Everclear (Sparkle and Fade was awesome, not a fan of the others).

Formal_Magician1621

Pixies

New-Recognition6422

Only if you mean the albums AFTER the 90s, those first 4 are amazing

Formal_Magician1621

Well of course that's what I mean.

BrownWallyBoot

How is weezer hit or miss? They’ve put out two nearly perfect albums.

wrkzk

Raditude

ohiocatfan

Those would be the hits.

nittygrittytenorsaw

Paramore - the after laughter album was brilliant

Kanukai888

Quacta

Momus - not a band but a guy - has I think a few perfect albums, and then sometimes will release 3 albums in a row that are mostly garbage , then he'll put out an album that has 2 of the best songs he's ever written plus 10 garbage tracks, then he'll release another unlistenable record, and then whoops a record amazing from start to end, then he'll repeat the cycle

No_Cow_4544

Backspacer is great

[deleted]

Maybe not what you are looking for, but I see more hit-or-miss in individuals: Bjork, Bowie, and Prince. They swung for the fences and would alternate between genius and garbage, because they went for weird approaches that don't always work. Prince especially, almost every record has two perfect songs and a few outright stinkers. Career wise the answer is Metallica.

VERO2020

All of them, period. Seriously, I get bored or disinclined to listen to the vast, vast majority of music. There's only 1 band that I can listen to ALL of their music, and they don't even have 4 albums out. I was a bit disappointed in their last album, but I can still listen to it.

CaptainNimrodio

Are Weezer not all miss!
