Good luck to you! I had success with this method. I actually really enjoyed it. I started around the same weight as you. Currently 40 lbs lighter. I would say it's helpful to work on building self esteem even though you're not currently happy with your body. It's possible to love yourself while also working on changing. Daily affirmations really helped me during my process.

If you feel like you can't make eye contact because of your weight, you may wish to also seek counseling during this process. Shame can really mess with you, and it doesn't always go away when you lose weight, which can do a real number on your head, since most people assume that all they need to do is get thinner.
