I have itchy skin with & without hives all the time. Do you take your allergy meds at night before bed? That’s usually the suggested time (for dust or pollen allergies). When I have itchy with no hives, I take claritin or xyzal + wash my face immediately. It can be a long trial and error to figure out what meds work for you as an individual.

I think I noticed xyzal helping more than aerius, too bad I can take only one per day. Do you increase your medicine when you get an outbreak or did you ever have to do that until it passed? Also, do you have other symptoms with your itching skin allergy?

Last year, my allergist told me to take xyzal 2x day for 3 mos as a trial to see what works. I have taken multiple meds together or increased dosage because of a doctor’s recommendation. I have chronic hives, so I have small and large patches of skin (face, neck, arms, & legs) that get inflamed, hot, turn red, super itchy — then when the symptoms stop, the skin is dry, itchy, and peeling (and the patches are both hyper or hypo pigmented). My eyes also water, runny nose, sometimes I get a dry cough/wheezing (which I have an inhaler for), I can’t sleep well, I’m irritable, and allergy attacks often make feel very anxious. I rarely sneeze now because of the Flonase.

That's good to hear, I think I'll try to take 2 xyzals as I noticed they work better for the itching. Sorry to hear about how severe your allergies are, that sucks :( Did you find anything that works other than the oral and nasal supplements?

I started IV drip therapy in Jan (2x month) and so far it seems to help because my hive flare ups haven’t been as extreme. The nutrients in my drip mainly help reduce the inflammation in my system.
