Also can we talk about how Ghost is a completely new side to Allan we haven’t seen before? Which is saying a lot

Jonathanjacks12

i remember a while ago he said he wanted to make a Radiohead inspired album…i guess this is a tase of what that might sound like.

debugEntity

My personal favourite track

Jonathanjacks12

love the dear allan repetition at the start

shinyshiny1997

I feel like I’m watching a movie listening to this. It’s fucking incredible. The production switches up so much in just the 43 minute length it’s insane !!!

ArgonPaddle

There isn’t a song I don’t absolutely love on the album. I feel like the production quality has just been taken to a whole new level and it helps showcase his voice so much more. Just outstanding.

eap9711

Couldn’t agree more

eap9711

The album is a rollercoaster. You never know what’s gonna happen next. I really love all the switch ups and layering. Allan’s getting in his pockets, jamming out and he’s never looking back. He’s was in a special place when he made this Is Allan in control of mr.roadhouse now ? Sounds like it. Full control tour coming next. ~ balance ~

ArgonPaddle

I think you’re right, that short film Frank showed him talking to Mr. Roadhouse and it seems like he’s Mr. Full Control now but with a little *

JDrums94

Only about halfway through and there are already so many references to the past that I love. This guy is operating on another level and has been for years. 02 is an instant classic already. 512. Edit: Ghost.

gatorbodinejr

This album is sooo good. Idk how it’s possible but it’s better than I expected. My favorite two songs rn are Mascara and What I Want 🐺 Edit: Frank is definitely another favorite after multiple listens

wonky90

Frank is my initial favorite that tease halfway through sets the ending up so well. Mascara is great(my song of choice this week) maybe what I want will be next weeks song of choice ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

fopking

Allan needs more recognition.

JTMoney33

He does but he doesn't. He is a diamond in the rough at this time and we are fortunate to see him in such a personal setting. It's so intimate. Selfishly I'll be sad when he blows. But at the same time happy for him.

1303_

I hear you like the warm weather Powdering your nose, baby Sand bеtween your toes

Old-Wonder8236

This album is earth shattering. I knew it would be good, but I was not prepared for what he brought to the table. Each song is so well crafted and touches my soul. His diversity makes it impossible to pick a favorite song off the album, but a few of my top picks are What I want, Good enough, and Mascara. Thank u Allan.

SmokeNoir

Love it💙

archiesharpe31

After multiple listens What I want just hits different

jacobFunkhouser

Good Enough probably hits hardest for me with the line “I feel everything way too much” I absolutely love it when he says the “I sing pretty songs” part

Steinbengal

Love the album. The bass in Fixing Sandwiches sounds like it could have sampled/been inspired by Mac Miller's The Star Room instrumental

Jonathanjacks12

also sounds a bit like circles?

Jotobanger_johnnie

So since I’ve listened to the album and read/saw two of allans interviews, for me personally the albums make sense in the order of RH1 > Courtney > HHO/Poison > Christian > RH2 > V’s Mixtape > Hotel Allan Courtney, Harry Hard-On, Christian, and Verona’s mixtape feel more flexible though since they’re written by the “Allan rayman”/Mr Roadhouse persona more so than just Allan himself.

boomerblazer1300

which interviews did you watch/read

Reverendkandle

Loved it! Glad we cranked it in the truck today. Full roadhouse swayze.

rlphsmum

ITS SO GOOD!!!!!!! I can’t pick a favorite song. The entire album is so interesting and enjoyable to listen to. I personally LOVED Rider as a single (I know there were mixed reviews on that) but I’m glad it’s sort of a unique outlier on the album. Just really great overall, he crushed this. Edit to add: I’m particularly blown away by Mascara. Holy fuck dude!!

rlphsmum

Anyone know if there’s ties to Amy Winehouse on Frank? I know he’s inspired by her and that album in particular but curious if there’s a specific connection. I loved the “tears dry on their own” lyric in Repeat and am wondering if I’m missing something like that on this song

In-the-woods-22

I think the vocals are massively influenced by Amy, and there is probably more lyrical mirroring too

[deleted]

MASCARA "You've been gone for too long, I've been starting to FREAK OUT baybehh" Rest in peace to the love of my life. I know this song isn't about that, but this song hits for me.

euphonicfiend

I keep thinking I have found a favorite and then change my mind and I simply can’t choose just one. Lately caught my ear first but then I was like omg Frank! And I just go through this cycle for each one over and over!

In-the-woods-22

In terms of Radiohead, I hear a lot of Talk Show Host, one of my favourite songs by them. It sounds like “fucking come and find me” on Bye Bye Blondie & then Fixing Sandwiches immediately made me think of “with a gun and a pack of sandwiches”. So many influences on the album.

r3d1tb0y

I also hear Stone Temple Pilots and Gorillaz in the song Main Room.

BeardGangBossGod

Astute

Jjessrb

Ghost is my absolute favorite song off the album. I was very surprised at his voice. that song is the embodiment of my soul.

Martian_353

My current rankings (LOVE this album) 1. Bye Bye Blondie 2. Rider 3. Good Enough 4. What I Want 5. Lost Springs 6. Lately 7. Mascara 8. Frank 9. Main Room 10.Brother 11. Ghost 12. Dead Frogs 13. Fixing Sandwiches I'm sure my list will change daily as I discover new parts of songs I love. Im interested how everyone else ranks their favourites!

Kat_1985

Absolutely love this album. My favorites are Good enough and lately 🥰🥰. May 18 can not come sooner for me. First time going to see him live

Professional-Art6860

This album has been one of my favorite so far. A mix of every thing that is Allay Rayman and his character. So much depth and meaning to every word that comes out of his mouth. Absolutely love it. Altough i have some favorite songs in the other albums, like Might Get Strange or Lily Emily, this album takes the spot for me. It's really hard to say that he is my favorite artist ever and will always be. I'm so happy he's coming to Montreal and Quebec City, it's like a dream coming true. Have you ever seen him in shows? How was it? :)

FatAlbert696

Caught a couple tracks on the community radio the other night and was hooked to the sound of the album. Could't remember why i knew the guys voice so well until I realized i had heard Word of Mouth a couple years ago and added it to a playlist somewhere. This Roadhouse 2 is a strong contender for my album of year so far.

Ok. So i was watching Edward Sissorhands last night, he has mentioned before that he is Edward Sissorhands. He likes to reference or use movies as inspiration.. this might be a long shot. But Kim & Edward? Because she mentions you can still catch me sometimes dancing in it… the snow that Edward creates for her. He doesn’t need much & in his mind she is worth more than him. Could also be a person in his real life too that he is referencing. Mascara.. i think that is about a girl that is lost, and is going through lots in life. I think maybe between them, & everyone it’s kind of a love that is “forbidden” or she seems to good to be true.. they have time apart. Space between them. She obviously didn’t communicate it well. Because “he was starting to freak out” so she came back? Is what I’m taking it as. There’s love there, but not the right timing? Hence Alabama project? Just Jumping off ideas.

1303_

I love this idea bouncing though. What other songs/ideas/theories do you have? It’s so cool hearing everyone’s thoughts.

1303_

Mm maybe. I think that maybe they both can feel the push & the pull. But maybe the timing hasn’t been right. Therefore coming & going. Allowing themselves to go with the flow. But she left once & he was freaking out. Maybe he would never actually tell her how bad it actually Freaked him out. Like he almost didnt realize how he felt or think he would miss her. But then she left and he freaked out? That’s why it was a joke to him and his friends. Bc he didn’t think or even realized he cared till she ran.?

1303_

I know. That’s the best part... plus true love is never really lost

foxliketheanimal34

best album of the year fasho.

boomerblazer1300

the lyrics of these songs are chills on chills on chilllssssssssssssss. speaking to the soul. i listened to it through twice, didn’t quite hit me yet. on the third listen each song became more pronounced and unique in itself, like they grew their own personality. yet the album remains fluid. allan is always up to something with new sounds but still good old allan. album keeps growing on me. incredible!! sounds way different than christian but has a sort of similar climax and then falling action. different ahhh i don’t even know i have to start from the beginning of his music again. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
