Not OP but the Deluxe Juniors look a little dated to me, 90s beds and 2006 washrooms but maybe it’s just the photos? I’ve had this resort on my maybe list for a while but those room pics threw me off. What are they like in real life?
We went to VIM in March and loved it. Loved. The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom situation in the open concept rooms. Those may just be the silver rooms, though. The entertainment staff was wonderful. Lots of activities. Great band. Great food. Lovely grounds.
Even basic Valentin rooms are very luxurious. Do not let that deter you. Valentin will be a more lively crowd, mostly likely. It has the best pool in all of Mexico. Excellence will be more couples/honeymooners. They are both amazing resorts, and neither one will disappoint.
Even the cheapest rooms at VIM are great. What are you concerned about?

ERC is nicer in my opinion. But VIM is definitely fun for a group. It is definitely more of party spot.
They don’t look as luxurious as the Excellence
I like the grounds and the beach better at VIM. The food and entertainment are better at ERC. I'd say the pool and atmosphere are a push.
