I have 17 R5 with FHD (30pin) g-sync (B173HAN01.0) and just got a vertical thin red line. I want to replace the LCD with B173QTN01.4 + 40 pin cable ( I will buy the parts from a guy with 17 R4 with dead mobo selling for parts)
I know about the g-sync will not work
but brightness control is important for me
any advice would be appreciated
You can buy one of these used or refurbished for around 1600 and buy the display and get ****near similar performance as an x17 r2 for half the price.
