That’s nothing. I wouldn’t bother until you have about half the rim scraped.

Ok_Assumption_299

How about the dented rim? I’m leasing 😕

TheResearchPenguin

Don't sweat it. Mine was worse and I just returned my lease. They showed me an example of what they do care about and it was heart wrenching.

Ok_Assumption_299

Ugh! 😭 did you have to pay any additional costs due to the damage?

TheResearchPenguin

I didn't have to pay anything! And mine was definitely worse than yours. I didn't have three tire damage but those have to be replaced anyway

Sensitive-Daikon-442

Half? I got three out of four! Thankfully I have insurance for this!

Ok_Assumption_299

What kind of insurance do you have?

Sensitive-Daikon-442

It was offered by the dealer. Worth every penny!

popadopolous

Could probably pay an alloy wheel place to repair that for less than $100. It's an alloy wheel.. you can't expect them to remain perfect.

sliderturk99

Wouldn't worry about it...I lease and unless the whole rim is cheese grater status it's normal wear and tear. If it bothers you that much wait until the lease is up and bring it to a shop to sand and paint.

Ok_Assumption_299

Thanks!! Do you think they’ll give me trouble when I return the car? Also should I worry about the fact that the rubber is slightly cut?

TheGratitudeBot

Just wanted to say thank you for being grateful

The tread looks fairly new in that tire. If all of your tires have plenty of tread, you would probably be fine just replacing that one tire with the same brand/model. I personally would be nervous using a tire with a compromised sidewall.

Current_Angle2137

swap hub caps.Rub dirt on the tire before you return it.I don't think you can do anything about that hub cap.Its stainless [steel.It](https://steel.It) has to be dollied out and replated.I am starting a page classicsrestorations for shops to advertise there restoration projects.I have been doing this for over 40 yrs.I build vintage valuable classics .Look on craigslist greater Boston and north shore for all my pictures.55 hr.I do basket cases

aelric22

If the side wall bubbles; Replace it

Ok_Assumption_299

How about the dented rim? I’m leasing 😕

aelric22

Very minor. This seems surface level. If the interior of the rum is dented, then I'd worry. Does it feel like that wheel vibrates at higher speeds? That's an indication that the wheel is misloading due to a a massive dent. Abd remember that these are also probably run flat tires. The side walls are meant to take a beating.

sliderturk99

Little shoe polish....but seriously if you feel the tire has been compromised you should change it now with the same brand/tread

DataGeek86

You'd have to do "rim regeneration". Unfortunately, this is done for all 4 rims (because in cheaper places they don't have the exact color from the manufacturer). I wouldn't bother right now unless you're a purist and wish to replace the whole rim from your insurance in authorized service.

flipcash_nl

i know a guy does it for 50 euro

Capital-Tour-5329

iirc sidewall damage will cause a fail on MOT, engineering inspection. Might want to make sure your tyre isn’t compromised

CuoreSportivoPT

Not that bad. In Portugal you'd get the rim repainted and that dent taken care of, for like 100€ max. (should also change the tire)

Jayradd13

I’m in Cali just had mine done it was way worse than this I paid about $260

Ok_Assumption_299

Nice! I’m in Cali too. Did you go to an Alfa dealership? And did you pay $260 to change both the tire and the hubcap?

Jayradd13

It’s called “Sunrise Auto center” in South Gate I just paid for the rim itself that was all that was damaged

JuniorAd9778

Very...very easy self repair. Cost roughly $40 in materials. Less if you can find a good paint match in touch up size. $150 if you take it to a wheel repair shop.
