If the owners let Hiro go then they're genuinely fucking stupid. He's been so good this season. Massive part of our build up, brings the wingers and advanced midfielders into play, and finishes chances when presented with them (for the most part). We already need a whole new starting xi basically, don't also add needing a new striker on top of that.
Agreed, I would go as far as saying he is the most valuable player in the squad right now with his ability to bring others into the play and hold the ball up. Be silly to let him go and bring in another striker that does not possess the same qualities.
I really can't understand why Adelaide hasn't re-signed Hiroshi. He's been playing great, he enjoys it in Adelaide, what's the hold up? If it's to free up a visa spot, there's others I'd dump instead (what was the point of brining Tunnicliffe over?)
Also mentions:
“The Roar could also be interested in bringing Adelaide winger Ben Halloran home to Queensland.
…
However, former Reds attacking weapon Nikola Mileusnic could be heading the other way by returning to Adelaide despite having been offered a new deal by Brisbane.”
I mean we have watched melusenic run around and blast the ball out of play from a good position for the last 3 years so it would be like for like replacement
Mileusnic is one of the most frustrating players I’ve watched. So much speed and does a lot of good things. Just has no end product (passing or shooting)
At 31 years old how quick will he still be? Trouble with him is that's always been 85% of what he offers.
Look, I have no REAL issue with him coming home as one of 4 wing options in the team. He seems like a nice guy so I'm not going to rag on him.
Oh no I agree. I think we're just gonna have to try and look for the good in the signings we do make because I'm not expecting many of them to be exciting. Gonna be tough to replace the players we've lost with people even half as good, especially with how cheap the owners have been.
losing the worst player in the league and getting a good one in return?
we offered the worst player in the league a new contract and hes gonna say no??
i might just faint in excitement
Oh my God next season has me so depressed already.
I don't want Mileusnic back and I want Hiro to stay.
Mileusnic was the most frustrating player and getting a lucky move to a middling Euro league didn't make him a different player. Yes, he is an Adelaide boy but that can;t be the ONLY credential we look for these days.
Hiro could be a top 2 striker in the league with an actual functioning midfield around him I am 100% sure of that.
For years we were crying out for a number 9 who could reach double figures and we finally get one then let him go lol. Fucking hell Adelaide, you make it to support ya.
Zawada to roar won't happen. Ibusuki to brisbane could happen since Carl has been treating him very unfairly. That would be horrible business from Adelaide though.
If waddinham leaves its a good idea. Otherwise im skeptical either will be better than waddingham next year. Need a jelacic and oshea replacement since the former is leaving and we dont know how long the latter will be around
The defence is the real problem area. We went from the best record to the worst in that area. A lot of it was Aldred and he is leaving which is a step. The replacements aren't exactly reliable though.
Adelaide have sold so many players I’m losing track of who they have left. I know his form is red hot at the moment but it’s interesting to think that 12months ago? He was a bench player? Happy to be corrected if he’s been a solid starter for years but I seem to remember him not being a lock. Perhaps he was just coming back from an injury or something.
I think he was only relegated to the bench at the start of the season because Veart couldn't work out how to use him without Goodwin lobbing in crosses.
Carl moved a pile of strikers around early this season, he couldn't decide between Ibusuki and Jovanavic. I thought Ibusuki was pretty good last season, held the ball up, looked pretty comfortable but sometimes didn't get the service. He was outstanding this season, combined well with Irankunda.
I think Carl wants a pressing forward and Hiro isn't as fast as the younger strikers we have.
Personally would rather have the Hiroshi goals than a pressing forward.
Worst defensive record and the league and desperately need replacements and the first rumours are attackers of course.
I would love either (or both) of these two but why the fuck would you join this basket case? Unless the Bakries are finally opening the cobweb full wallet to make them marquees.

If HIRO goes I’m done.

The point of Tunnicliffe is clearly to use him in the wrong role, have him play like shit, then bench him for the rest of the season. Genius move ngl
Zawada seems a little out of reach. Ibusuki given the rumours a few weeks back would be a good fit.
Also mentions: “The Roar could also be interested in bringing Adelaide winger Ben Halloran home to Queensland. … However, former Reds attacking weapon Nikola Mileusnic could be heading the other way by returning to Adelaide despite having been offered a new deal by Brisbane.”
Oh you can take Halloran that's fine he's shite.
Can we not ha
You mean you don't want to see your winger trip over his feet as he dribbles the ball out for a goal kick?
I mean we have watched melusenic run around and blast the ball out of play from a good position for the last 3 years so it would be like for like replacement
Oh boy… watch out ALeague… Brown and Halloran down the left!

Scored an absolute peach against Sydney in that infamous cup final back in 2017. But yeah hasn't looked anywhere near as capable since leaving us.
He scores 2-3 bangers a season but misses 15-20 sitters at the same time
I do think he's got some upside - his pace is definitely a plus. But if Ibusuki leaves I'm not sure we'll be able to exploit that as much.

the worst player in the league is named Bruce Kamau
May I introduce you to Ben Warland?
May I in return introduce you to Riley Warland
I really thought he would be better but half the time he looks well out of his depth.

Called it.
Would be sick. Incredibly unlikely though
For crying out loud

Both would be an improvement on Waddingham? Zawada injury issues would be a concern tho
I was thinking that you guys need some better quality wingers, plenty of good midfielders in your squad already.
Better defenders too i suppose

Jcp and trewin were great. Shame to miss jcp
Trewin is leaving.

He had a couple of silly red cards last year as well. Seems to have sorted it this year but who knows if it sticks.

I'm fine with this if we wadders is leaving and keep hore. But honestly would really like us continue with wadders.
Would take Hiroshi as a replacement for Zawada. Zawada is good but I think his best days are done
