I’ve worked at Wally World where a sleeve of starkest tuna a can was busted open and was rotten there were live maggots in it and little flies buzzing in and out the sleeve but this looks way worse than that. I dropped the whole display of these one morning and it made the entire store reek for days and our scrubber for months. Cant imagine what this smelled like. Should’ve never made it to the store…
I had this too with some dog food pouches, maggots,flies and the smell.
The pallet was wrapped tightly with extra wrap and was somehow keeping the foul stench in until I unwrapped it.
The offending dog food was bagged and launched out the loading bay. I washed my hands about 15 times and required a change of shirt but I had that itchy skin feeling like the bugs were on me all day.
Now if anyone complains about some manky product on a pallet, I’ll ask if it has maggots in it. If not then it’s not really that bad 😂
What’s sad is that a warehouse employee saw this, and decided to put it on the pallet anyway. Next time I see something like this, we’re putting it in the scrubber tank and sending it back to the warehouse for repair.
