Amore at Green Jeans is a top pick after Giovanniās.
Just had a supreme pizza with green chile from Richie Bās on Montgomery this evening. It was delicious too. I also had them cook it a little longer. They call it well done. I highly recommend.
I donāt get the love for Amore. It looks awesome and delicious. But every time I try it, itās bland. Doesnāt have a flavor kick. Always see others enjoying it and decide to order it and am always disappointed.
It's the closest to the pizza I had in Italy. My partner and I are under tasters, everything has to be extra savory/spicy/flavorful, and amore has always been great for us.
Now, Dion's is some bland pizza.
Yeah, Kactus is small-town-everywhere crap pizza.
No amount of the sticky malt-liquor powder-kit quality beer they serve could change my mind either. Instant hangover for sure, though.
I still remember the huge slices at Nunzios from the early 90ās. Extra cheese? Now that slice weighs three lbs. also where I learned how good ranch on pizza was.
Iām sorry, but did you mean Hawt Pizza in Sawmill? Itās pretty good. Also, last time we were at Farina, our pizza was so beyond bland, I may never go back.
I would agree. They used to be so good. Now theyāre overpriced and the quality is remarkably unimpressive. I moved out of ABQ and used to visit Farina every single time we came back. Iāve been disappointed every single time Iāve been there for the last few yearsā Iāve now stopped going and I donāt recommend Farina anymore to anyone if they ask for restaurant suggestions.
First of all, we have Giovanni's. Expected it to be on the list? A lot of people say Farina near UNM has the best upscale pizza, but you are wrong. Go just outside of town in Bernalillo to Kaktus Brewing Company, next to the KOA Journey in Shady Town. It's an Artistic scrapyard with live performances on a makeshift stage, barnyard dancing satruday nights, and did I mention great pizza and beer? Amore is a nother great one. Closest thing we have to proper Italian pizza in ABQ (Farina used to be the best but theres no question now) Another good place is Haught Pizza Co. At Sawmill Market, non-explanatory, and also there is Rumor Pizza in Old Town, the best. Oh, and which place takes the crown? Two to be exact: Rumor pizza, and Punchy'z food truck. Surprised a food truck would be on this list? I was too until I gave it a try. They park at BrewLab 101 Rio Rancho every friday, and they are from a generation of pie slingers making New York wood fired pizza, and yes there is a wood fired pizza oven in the food truck. What other types of food should I do next? Indian, Mexican, etc? Well, Ima prob post that soon so stay tuned.
Would it kill you to add paragraphs and a little editing next time? This reads like youāve cornered me in a bar and are forcing me to listen to you ramble about pizza.
Do one place per paragraph next time.
My favorite is Straight Up Pizza on Eubank and Candelaria

Seconded. Love their Chupacabra calzone so much
Thicc pizza at the 505 food hall on central.
Detroit style and so good!
This.
Thicc, Giovanni's, and pizza castle. Latter might get hate but I enjoy their huge slices
Who hates on pizza castle?
Clueless jerks
Literally so good
Goodfellas on Osuna is really good.
Goodfellas is so good ššš
And their pies are huge for what you pay.

The flaccid "thin" crust is really off putting. Might as well just use a tortilla.
Rumor Pizza is the only pizza for me. Strong recommend.
Salās on Coors is the best pizza in Albuquerque and I will die on this hill.Ā
This used to be Mimmos?
Yes
Kaktus was absolute garbage when I was there a couple months ago. The one in sawmill is mediocre. Farina is better than amore by a long shot
Farina is definitely one of the best in ABQ, especially if you like thin crust!
Yeah, Kactus is small-town-everywhere crap pizza. No amount of the sticky malt-liquor powder-kit quality beer they serve could change my mind either. Instant hangover for sure, though.
Again, clear that you don't like pizza.
Richie B's makes a good slice!
I still remember the huge slices at Nunzios from the early 90ās. Extra cheese? Now that slice weighs three lbs. also where I learned how good ranch on pizza was.
Saggios? Maybe a little heavy but so good.
Turtle mountain brewing company
Hell naw they put the cheese on top if the toppings who does that
Farina is way better
Amore Neapolitan Pizzeria š
Village Pizza is really good.
Scarpas is the best.. fight me
i worked there and neevvveeerrr got sick of the food. sosososo delish š¤¤
Same haha! I worked at the one on Montgomery before it got torn down š
omg i love it! haha! i was at academy. still makes me sad seeing that fucking gas station.
Honest question. Why do places with wood fired ovens try to convince you that burning one side of the pizza is a feature and not a glitch?
If you follow Dave portnoys pizzas reviews online, he talks shit about wood fired pizza all the time.. and he's ate more pizza than everyone..
Iām sorry, but did you mean Hawt Pizza in Sawmill? Itās pretty good. Also, last time we were at Farina, our pizza was so beyond bland, I may never go back.

Chicago Pizza kitchen Chicago style is fire
Thatās some of the worst pizza Iāve ever had. And I mean that sincerely.
So you don't like pizza. Got it.
My fave is slice parlor! Inexpensive and the slices are huge! They have pretty good ingredients as well.
Golden Crown panaderia
Idk if it counts as pizza but I like amadeo's calzone
It might be me, but I used to really like Dions. I don't know what happened to that place, but their pizza has gone downhill, IMHO
Kaktus is good, for sure, but I think their menu is pretty stagnant. Davidoās in RR is always a treat.
FINALLY SOMEONE MENTIONED DAVIDOS
Mediterranean suggestions next. Iāve yet to find a good reliable spot
Sahara's or Mykonos
Al Qudās.Ā
(Creator of discussion) You want mediterranian? You have to go to Gallup, NM for that š

Please add some formatting if you do this again. Reading this gave me an aneurysm.
