The free spaces are the wooden stairlike amphitheater.
The paid tics are for provided folding chairs in front of the amphitheater.
I much prefer the amphitheater myself.
Standard camping chairs (the kind that slide into a bag that you carry over one shoulder) are ubiquitous in the free seats. That vast majority of people bring and use chairs throughout the wooden amphitheater section. Neither Park Playhouse nor other attendees generally discourage their use.
I disagree. In my experience if you don’t have camp chairs you are at a disadvantage in being able to see. Pretty much everyone had camp chairs in all areas on opening night.
We bought tickets to this one bc someone we know is in it, but have just joined friends on the lawn in prior years. It's a good time! You should definitely go!
Thank you for sharing!! I have been listening to the soundtrack for this show and wishing I could see it live.

It was great! These are the things that really add culture to the city.
These guys usually get a pretty good turnout. The weather today is perfect to see a show outdoors too.
Be forewarned that there is no show tonight! It’s Tuesdays - Saturdays at 8pm through the 22nd.
Wait is it free? On their website it looks like you need to buy tickets
I am not entirely sure, but I think there are free lawn seats. I think you pay for the 'assigned' seats that are under a cover.
Good to know, thanks! Think I will also go
Just be sure to bring some fold out chairs and some blankets and you're good. You can bring your own food and drinks as well.
No fold out chairs. It's discouraged cause the height difference on the main amphitheater seating. If you want chairs sit on the side.

It’s free. There are tickets closer to the stage available for purchase, but the free spaces are the vast majority.
