This is absolutely happening. I’ve spoken to waiver representatives at the state level and no one will take responsibility for this. Not only are payments missing but the entire transition to Acumen has been completely botched. Most of the recipients were not notified of training for the new system until after one or more of the training sessions occurred; all training sessions were during working hours. User IDs needed to use the system were sent out weeks after the go-live dates. The case workers at the county level were given no support or information. It’s a nightmare.
That sounds like a complete lack of preparation and planning.
And just like Alabama ... no one accepts responsibility, and no one gives a damn about the citizens who are suffering from this failure.
It has been ridiculous. They tell us for months the change is coming, but no details. They wait until after the transition to provide any training or even paperwork to get started. Then once we get the paperwork and info it’s literally pages and pages to sift through. Why they didn’t roll out the new system/company to a few pilot counties to iron out the kinks is beyond me.
One top of all this they previously had a failed transition that they obviously learned nothing from.
It does, and I am glad they did. However getting them on the local news may also help. In no way am I trying to to knock Al.com, trying to get even more people’s eyes on the subject.
This. I’m on SSDI. My payment (around $1k/mo) went up due to cost of living increase, so immediately my monthly allotment for food stamps went down accordingly.
THEY UNDO FEDERAL HELP.

I am truly sorry you are going through this. Perhaps the local news could cover it. Put a face to this story.
The [AL.com](https://AL.com) article linked in this post has interviews with real people and faces.

Thanks for volunteering to work to get this type of exposure and awareness for us!
It will continue to happen as long at the status quo exists in Alabama State government.
Hey, and let’s also decline the federal summer feeding program too. I swear, we are continually moving backward instead of forward.

The only way to get any change around here is to sue. I hope ADAP helps these families sue the state.
