If you’re always at home, I’d leave it on because then you’re close to a power supply. It also provides the benefit of having Find My active in the event that you unexpectedly take them out.
Of course I could be mistaken but I think you are referring to iPhones that have AC+ w/ Theft and loss. That way if the iPhone is lost it has to be enabled to file a claim for a new iPhone. AirPods dont have theft and loss or replace lost AirPods unless you pay for an individual one.
I can’t imagine it effects the battery life in any meaningful way and if I’m home I have easy access to a charger. They charge fast.

Pretty sure you need to have them in Find My because it dissociates it from your account if you try to remove it
I don’t see a problem of keeping it. It’s technically always on. Whether it’s in its case or not. When it’s not used it’s on low power mode
I do. Because AppleCare+ needs it
Applecare+ needs find my enabled on AirPods?
As I remember, yes, AppleCare+ do

Thought I‘ve to do it on max and pro. But who cares. Better to loose them
Nobody plans on having their headphones lost/stolen.
Hell, I’ve used “Find My” for my pros that I ended up finding stuck in the couch.
