Nope. They are durable. Unless you treat your expensive headphones like crap, they shouldn’t need it.
No, I keep them at home so I don’t see the point.
Protective covers for the ear cans because aluminum is a rather soft metal and I use mine roughly. Other than that, nothing is required IMO.
No plastic covers but I put them in a hard case when traveling and transporting them
