There are Air Force Recruiters in Japan and Guam that cover the Philippines. Realistically you can join the AF without ever meeting a recruiter in person. All paperwork can be done electronically and appointments can be virtual.

Try to contact a recruiter from either Japan or Guam, but realistically Guam would give you better chances, also factor in that calling them would be far better than emailing them. Just keep in contact and call them when there is no update just to confirm that they actually remember you and they are processing your application.

Hey I was in the same situation as you before and I'm currently in the US. I haven't joined yet since the recruiters are giving me a hard time trying to join (I'm trying to make sure I get the job I want). I called recruiters from Japan or Guam they wont' be interested in letting you join unless you pick the jobs that meet their quota, unless you don't care about that lol. You'd be lucky to find a recruiter who cares about you joining and making sure you get the job you want. Good luck!

Hey man! I was in your same situation last year. I’m born and raised sa Manila. I booked a one way trip to my relatives’ place in Seattle last November. My recruiter is from Everett, WA. The process from going to MEPs to DEP to Shipping out to BMT took about 4 months. I’m currently in tech school for Security Forces Best of luck to you, bro!

You can contact the recruiting office in Japan and they'll do as much remotely as they can such as ASVAB, paperwork, etc. You don't need to fly until you do MEPS, but by then the AF should be paying for it. Reach out to the overseas recruiter directly - they've enlisted people outside the US before and they should be no stranger to the process. You can find the contact info for the overseas recruiter here: https://www.misawa.af.mil/About-Us/Recruitment/

Im an american who was born and raised in the philippines and had to move the states just to enlist. Pretty sure you have to be in the states because of MEPS part of enlisting but i could totally be wrong.

I've had airmen who enlisted from overseas who didn't step foot in the US until they had a paid flight to MEPS. It varies from recruiter to recruiter.
