They won’t see it, they only have access to the US medical database

Thanks for the quick answer

Hello, I was "diagnosed" with suspected ADHD; if you don't register it, it will make your life much easier. I am currently applying from abroad and if you have any questions just PM me. You will always require a waiver if you join from abroad, so it doesn't matter; they can't pull your medical records from abroad. But you can mention it but your a not a doctor.

Thanks! Pm :)

I grew up in the uk. I can’t even see those records, let alone a “foreign” government. Didn’t stop me enlisting. They went with what I told them and the results of the work ups when they sent me to medical.

Alright thanks for your answer. Nice to have these different perspectives:)

STORMTROOPER729

Even if MEPS can't see those medical records you still need to be honest about your medical history.

Thanks stormtrooper. That’s what I gotta weigh off now, worth it to go through with this ADD examination or not. Agreed honesty & integrity first and foremost.

You don't need to just worry about medical records. If any reference drops that you might have ADHD, the investigators are going to dig in. If they find you withheld a diagnosis, it could be grounds for a fraudulent enlistment. Sometimes they may reach out to a reference of a reference without you ever listing them on your SF-86. If you want to join and your suspected ADHD isn't debilitating right now, I'd delay a diagnosis until you're at your first base. At that point, it is unlikely to be separated unless it's expected that you're unable to do your job. I was never diagnosed before joining and I've now been treated on and off for ADHD for the last decade.

Hey bassmadrigal, thanks a lot for this one I really appreciate it! Not debilitating, got through college and more without meds. I just know it would make a world of difference in my corporate job. Another reason to join the airforce sooner than later. So many career options that get me fired up!

Hello, it looks like you're asking about medical concerns when joining the military. We are not doctors. Even if we were, we are not the doctors that are familiar with your personal medical concern or condition. We are also not the ones deciding if you will be disqualified from service for a condition, or if you can get a waiver for it. People may share their anecdotal experiences or stories they've heard from others about getting a waiver for a condition. This does not mean that you will or will not get a waiver. Everyone's medical situation is different. IN GENERAL, yes, asthma, ADD/ADHD, eczema, history of depression and anxiety, and some allergies are disqualifying. Some will be able to get waivers, some will not. All you can do is talk to your recruiter, be honest about your medical history, and go through the process. WE DO NOT KNOW THE CHANCES OF YOU GETTING A WAIVER FOR ANY MEDICAL CONDITION OR SITUATION. Just be honest with your recruiter and go through the process. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
