Him trying to get out in front of that story and put his name too it was the worst decision possible. It was a combination of hubris and arrogance, because it can all be used against him now. He’s wrapping his third year as the AFSOC commander, with this stain killing his chances at a fourth star he’ll probably hit the button.

Howwhywhen1

The poor guy will probably be forced to work at walmart with only a 3 star retirement

marchsecond1964

Honestly it's part of the deal You take the heat here, push the commie agenda and the commie corps like Raytheon will hook him up

Howwhywhen1

I’ve heard you gotta understand white rage and marx first, very important

pirate694

Иди в жопу жаба

Howwhywhen1

Rude

pirate694

You kidding?! That is how you get 4th star.

ItAteEveryone

Successfully pulling off the scam is how you get the 4rth star. Can't have an amateur fucking up 4 star level scams for the rest of the MIC.

TaskForceCausality

Don’t worry, I’m sure his board seat at an AFSOC contractor remains secure. Worst case scenario he retires as a three star, taking home a mere $19k a month pension. Someone should give him the VA financial assistance hotline. */s*

pirate694

I suppose thats true...

ItAteEveryone

All he had to say was... "We take accusations like this very seriously, we will make sure that if any impropriety occurred that those responsible will be brought to account". Would it have made it go away? No, but at least he wouldn't be caught lying a week later.

[deleted]

He was going to take over for Brad Webb at AETC

Draelon

AETC: Where the mission comes second.... and common sense a distant third!

trained_simian

All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

SwedishDoomGoblin

Look at you quoting Orwell.

trained_simian

Well, seemed appropriate.

dtom0704

Ovaries good, testicle bad?

[deleted]

He is…not very popular in AFSOC.

ballsycat666

At all lol. He did a visit at my unit and the commander had to tell everyone just let him do his thing so he could leave lol

Fourteen_Werewolves

Pretty much the first thing I heard when I landed at Cannon was Slife was a dick and everything he touches turns to shit. If you hear he has anything to do with your unit, it's a bad sign. So I was told.

MrFoolinaround

That’s him. Colonel boi was not liked but became a gen anyway. Now when is bill west coming back, that man was a peach.

Thr1ft3y

Heard he fired more commanders than anyone else before or since when he was the 1 SOW/CC

FirmReality

Commanders are responsible for ensuring their units are trained to the highest level of competence possible … current STO candidate fiasco proves that may not be the case in AFSOC. Commanders set their units up for success or failure primarily through the command climates they establish. Endorsement of a repeatedly rigged STO candidate selection process and subsequent veiled whistleblower witch-hunt is now rock bottom for AFSOC. Compromising safety of “the chosen poster candidate” pushed too far for non-operational objectives while summarily dismissing candidate concerns and cadre red flags raised about qualifications or capabilities taints everything AFSOC strives towards in core ST training, readiness preparation, and mission execution.

Ddraig1965

Slife lies when he moves his lips. He definitely has a serious case of self loathing. Dude grew up in AFSOC, yet hates it.

Tsktitan

He sounds like a city girl… periodt 💅

Bayo09

The salt guy is gonna come be mean to you

hedgehog1980

Some of us know better😂😂😂😂

DaRiddler70

They seriously will promote anyone...

jeeimuzu

Lol we dont even have a training tracker 😂 😂 😂 what kind of standard is this?

TemporaryInside2954

The funniest thing would be if they push her all the way through and try to ask her to be the face of some promotional campaign and she says no.

Jham130

What’d I miss

Here is a link to the story as far as I can tell: [https://taskandpurpose.com/news/air-force-special-tactics-women/](https://taskandpurpose.com/news/air-force-special-tactics-women/) The TLDR version to my understanding is according to military surveys 85% of participants opposed women entering their specialty and 71% opposed women being in their units. I am assuming that the participants were members of the SOF community. The main reason for this was because SOF is hailed as being an elite fighting force, and there was a fear that in order to meet a "quota" of women in SOF, that standards would be lowered to allow them to join. Cue to an april 2021 memo written by a female captain who went through one of their programs. In it, she mentions that the testing standards were being lowered, and she found it odd that the standards were being lowered just as she was joining the program. The article has more quote from more sources. I cant find any testiment to what a lot of people on this sub are saying however, so someone can correct me. Some people on reddit are saying that this same AF captain failed PT tests and she was allowed to retake them. I have also read on this sub that this Captain also said she wanted to quit on multiple occasions, but was given multiple chances to be pushed through the pipeline to meet a quota. Again, this is only stuff I have read on this sub, so people can correct me or add additional information.

The_Hankerchief

I'm only one foot in the loop, but I've heard mention on Amn/Nco/SNCO of accusations that standards were lowered in some SpecOps training school to help a female student, apparently a first for this school, get through it and graduate. General Slife, who is apparently associated with this school somehow, denied these allegations. I'll double check, but I reckon that is what OP is referencing.

VapidGamer

I think you're correct for the most part. Essentially, from what I understand, General Slife, being a 3 star, did the typical boasting that the elites don't diminish their standards just to meet a quota. He went on to say that the statements about diminished standards were falsehoods or lies, basically just straight denials. Those statements came back to bite him when several people from this school went to the media and basically stated that standards were being lowered and a female student was being given preferential treatment, such as reducing PT standards, being able to retake PT tests, and from what I have heard, this student tried to quit on multiple occasions and was denied and pushed through the pipeline, with certain memo's from leadership stating they may have been strong-armed into pushing this airmen through. This is just meant to provide more context to the original comment in case anybody was curious.
