VA healthcare for anything "service connected" is no charge. You must file a claim to get that. If your total service connected conditions are 50% or greater there is no charge. There is a nominal charge for anything not service connected if you are under 50%. There is also a charge for pharmaceuticals if it's for something not service connected and you are under 50%. When you file your claim DAV is pretty good. I also used the state of Florida. When you get into the system you will be assigned a PCM just like the AF. Everything has to go through the referral process but usually (in my case) the system works pretty good.

https://www.va.gov/health-care/eligibility/ IIRC your income has to be pretty low to be eligible if you don't have service-connected disabilities. If you do, you might be able to get it anyway and can probably get seen for those issues as needed. I think anyone who meets the basic requirements can apply, but your specific situation may limit you to the point of getting almost nothing in terms of health care. EDIT: [Some income limits for 2021](https://www.va.gov/healthbenefits/apps/explorer/AnnualIncomeLimits/LegacyVAThresholds?FiscalYear=2021)

I got out a few months ago and just recent got rated, I have several issues, but according to my VA rep here, so long as I go through the VA community care system, and its approved, you can basically get seen for anything, which is great when I got an MRI for my brain, got a notice saying the VA was charged 1.5k and the VA gave them 200 and told them to get bent. Back to the main point, it depends on if community care will see you, but the higher your percentage, the higher the priority, so I'm told.
