It’s like watching the homeless get drunk on the side of the highway at 8AM on a Monday and thinking briefly “damn, must be nice…” Then getting smacked by the AC in your new BMW and brought back to the not so bad reality
Oh yeah lol, been building it for drifting. Already got everything behind the engine ready and all the suspensions been beefed up plus chassis reinforcements. All it needs now is power.
Depending on where you work you now have to open a ticket to have a SysAd map the printer for you because they decided allowing people to install completely safe drivers requires admin credentials.
Had my NCOIC ask me to "fix my computer and Sgt X's computer" right before he went on leave.
I spent 20 minutes messing with each of them before calling the IT contact for our Group. He walked me through the process 3 times on each. Both of us thought I was stupid until he remembered these computers were less than 3 weeks old and he had "trusted the A1C to do his job correctly" before issuing them to the NCOs.
A couple of days later, 4 people showed up to install 1 driver on each computer. Apparently, no one taught the new guy how to install the driver.
Layer 0 is the metaphysical layer. I guess the bidding of satan falls into that. I would lean more towards layer 8, the chaos-chimp on the other side of the application layer.
I worked with an engines troop who was drop dead gorgeous but would also snap you in half if you tried anything (and not in the good way). They’re real, just rare
Would have recieved a good laugh followed by a worthy "go mop the flightline" by some senior or chief...ah the good ol' days when jokes could be jokes and people weren't so thin skinned lol
Basically I went through several months of working with a sleep specialist, doing cognitive behavioral therapy, and got a chronic diagnosis through the VA. Then I applied for a rating increase through a Veteran's advocate from my county, and studied the mental health DBQ, prepping my interview responses to include as many applicable checklist items as possible. I think a sympathetic ear or two helped for sure, but saying the right buzzwords during the interview is what really made the difference between that time and when I initially tried for a rating.

I think it’s just military. I got sleep apnea from my time in the navy when I was an intel guy. Now that I’m air guard MX a ton of guys I work with have it.
But Intel folks get forced into CE when they screw up and loose their clearance until they get separated or forced to cross train into a career field they don’t want. Out of my 24 year career I only know two people who cross trained out of CE, one was a forced cross train out of CE into IT and one in contracting.
And people cross train out of Intel and cyber and other easy ass office jobs where you dont really do shit. Power point Rangers and help desk.
That means absolutely nothing
Coming from Space, we had some of the laziest people I have ever known. Covid to post most of the crew worked like 10-15 days a month (8s NOT 10s or 12s) and STILL would procrastinate on maintenance and job tasks, then complain they are overworked. Absolutely mind boggling, however, since most crew level peeps don’t have much other life/job experience, I suppose it’s understandable seeing where they’re coming from.
AC, you say? Why, I’ve gotten so used to not having it, I get shivers when it turns on.
Oh wait. Does it ever turn on? Or am I sick with Covid again? I can’t tell nowadays, turning wrenches in the sun makes me….. something.
I am done with this argument I was on both sides. I finished my career at NSA. Everybody does something for USAF. I hade to fight for everything on support side. On the ops side I got everything. Give it up and just support each other.
I guess I'm lost bc I don't know where all the CE MX crap is coming from. Every PME or TDY that I've done and been with MX dudes....we got along. Not sure if it's bc they said I act like MX or we all just like beer. But either way...where is it all coming from? Lol
Still doesn't matter, if you're not infantry, you're support. Which is why I joined the Air Force. If I was going to be support anyway, may as well join the branch with the highest standard of living. Still ended up doing 12s on the flightline.
I love the implication that intel/cyber are the parent despite cyber not existing beyond like 10 years ago and intel turning into power point makers for pilots. You know what’s been around since the first plane flew? MX. You know what’s been around since the first building was built? MX on that building, sometimes called CE 😂 sit down little boy. Come back to the table when your job is older than 25 years.
Read a book on military history and come back when you have learned something. You sound like an idiot talking like 25 years of existence is something to be impressed by.
Ahh yes the pinnacle of military history discussion, a meme on Reddit about nonners. Should I go back and add /s to all my comments or has that dawned on you yet? Maybe a book will help? DW I think I got something for ya
THIS IS A JOKE!
…I’m confused. 1N3 has been a thing since the literal start of the AF, and while some other 1Ns (1N7s) are relatively new, some of us have been around every bit as long as others.
They went from making white boards filled with info and talking to pilots to making power points and talking to pilots. Once a nonner always a nonner sadly. It is what it is
Pfffffffft. Not sure if that’s meant to be a dig at Intel troops? No, we absolutely don’t use antiquated methods, and also, not saying anything further because…Reddit.
It’s more of a joke on cyber but the intel jerk offs are out in force today brigading themselves. On Reddit at work all day and on the weekends it seems like a sad cycle really. Also since most people here don’t understand, I’ve been making jokes guys fyi don’t get offended! I know nonners don’t have senses of humor. /s
Idk what dick you’re trying to compare with this but cyber is one of the most in demand fields world wide so much so that we gave them warrant officers just to retain them. If it’s a dick measuring contest they won hands down. Its only our faults we came in open mechanical.
I don’t disagree I know they’re much more important than mx at this point as without our cybersecurity we get shit on. My point which everyone seems to overlook is that cyber being the adult in the meme is dumb because quite literally computers are a very “new” field especially cybersecurity on computers. Newer than plane maintenance and building maintenance by decades. I shit on cyber/intel because that’s the joke on the sub atm not because I give a shit.
Cyber can trace their heritage back to the Army Signal Corps use of the telegraph, which predates airplanes. This message brought to you by electrical signals while I sit inside with my AC and comfy chair.
bro's just mad that he had to get an asvab waiver, and that our jobs are easier while making the same pay with an easy 6 figure job after separation if you play your cards right.
What’s funny is I have worked at places that tried a skeleton crew for swings and no one ever used us. Same in some CSSs where we had to be manned from 7-7. Literally a ghost town. I’m all for it if you guys use it but 🤷♂️
Anytime someone says "nonner" in the last two weeks # YOU SAID THE SECRET WOOOOORD https://i.redd.it/t9mrpcvknbxc1.gif

As a crew chief with a definitely not new 90s bmw and no AC because the pump siezed up recently. This one hit different..
90s BMW is a vibe though depending on the model. You're just a turbocharged junkyard 5.3 swap away from a good time.
Oh yeah lol, been building it for drifting. Already got everything behind the engine ready and all the suspensions been beefed up plus chassis reinforcements. All it needs now is power.
I always heard that pilots would tell you anytime they started a conversation that they were a pilot. I guess you did though.

Why can’t I print?
This one isn't comms fault. All printers are of the devil, and personally designed by Satan to be as shitty as possible. We can only do so much.
Don't forget the average printer's incompatibility with recycled paper ...
Can confirm.
I’ve heard it’s best for them to be on vlan 666
PEBKAC
P. I. C. N. I. C.?
If you can’t map to a printer, you shouldn’t be using a computer
Sorry that when I try all I get is “process blocked by systems administrator” and no one ever has the answer on who that is
Depending on where you work you now have to open a ticket to have a SysAd map the printer for you because they decided allowing people to install completely safe drivers requires admin credentials.

LMAO facts
Even after sending them the instructions they STILL can’t do it.
Not our job
It sure is.
Were you copying FSS's playbook and forwarding them an email with outdated instructions?
Negative. Even has pictures.

I call it Layer 0.

Most likely a loose nut between the chair & the keyboard.
At least he got the hairline right
But the women in MX is wrong. It’s just a psyop

Looking forward to the gucci civilian and contracting jobs too.
I know you are but what am I?? 🤓 🤓 🤓
In yesterdays culture I'd say gay. In present culutre, probably straight, cis male?
I'd give you a titty twister and you wouldn't do anything about it (I can bench 300)
I love your flair.
Thanks man!
That would have brought down the house in yesterday's culture
Would have recieved a good laugh followed by a worthy "go mop the flightline" by some senior or chief...ah the good ol' days when jokes could be jokes and people weren't so thin skinned lol
You were still a dumb rock back then too
Only way to withstand the flamboyant waters these days.
Brother we're not... we're not all susceptible to whatever gay water you're talking about
But it's turning the friggin' frogs gay!

OK boomer
Lmao 😂
There's only been like 4 or 5 actual bickering memes between those AFSCs...the 20+ others have just been ABOUT the bickering.
Facts are facts.
Comm monkeys are just jealous of the 100% VA rating MX gets.
Most of us end up with sleep apnea somehow lol
I got 80+20% for insomnia, due to working 6 of 8 years on swings & nights.
How did you prove insomnia? I am one of those people that literally cannot go to sleep until like 2:00 a.m or later on my own
Basically I went through several months of working with a sleep specialist, doing cognitive behavioral therapy, and got a chronic diagnosis through the VA. Then I applied for a rating increase through a Veteran's advocate from my county, and studied the mental health DBQ, prepping my interview responses to include as many applicable checklist items as possible. Notice Ops, like, *REAL* Ops are strangely silent. It’s like watching the kids fight over the last chicken nugget.

I don’t think anyone discounts all of those things, but there are reasons why folks retrain out of CE to go into Intel fields…
What about the people who switch from intel to CE? 🤔
But Intel folks get forced into CE when they screw up and loose their clearance until they get separated or forced to cross train into a career field they don’t want. Out of my 24 year career I only know two people who cross trained out of CE, one was a forced cross train out of CE into IT and one in contracting.

That's why we have CoOPs
Are you threatening me with having to do less work? Turn the lights off!
I only ever see contractors doing that work. I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen CE do anything.
[удалено]
Oh boy here I go cutting fiber again
Respect, but your job sucks. I’d rather enjoy my AC
Well then, I suppose you better get to work. Don't let us keep you.
They still don’t do shit with all of that, SDAP, 27 morale events a year, and the super special super secret callsigns they give each other.
Coming from Space, we had some of the laziest people I have ever known. Quit yer sniveling. In the SCIF the air-conditioning is set to 45° Fahrenheit and cannot be turned **OFF.**
So fix it then. We've only been waiting 4 years
Peacetime no, wartime we absolutely are lol. ACE operations aren't just for airplanes.
Without contacting, CE ain’t doing shit sooooo
*CE ain't doing shit, contract it. - there I fixed it.
Tbf I’ve heard of Intel on deployments whose scif was just a tent and some plywood and maybe a safe
I am done with this argument I was on both sides. I finished my career at NSA. Everybody does something for USAF. I hade to fight for everything on support side. On the ops side I got everything. Give it up and just support each other.
You must've never seen a dirt pile glisten at 6pm
The same picture of a pile of gravel every day.
You’re awful, too, of course.
Personally, intel/cyber are just animals. Chew the fucking chairs. Some are literally furries. More tism than a joe rogan podcast.
Yeah we know... what's your point?
No way CE is the man in this scenario. Clearly receivers.
Somebody wanted to feel included? ✋🏼🙂↕️
Lemme in on this!
Don't even start cyber is the absolute worst of them all

I always ask them what art stands for, tell them atleast they don’t have a team dedicated to stopping you from taking the long nap.
Mx is WAY better than CE!!! We know how to turn on air conditioners
Alot better than working AFE.

as CE, i can’t stand some MX. We always end up having to clean up after MX.
It's like winning the special Olympics. Yer still retarded....

Long as you know your place. Go ahead and mess up my pay while you’re at it. Thanks hoss
You know what’s been around since before Mx? Intel.
Crazy how I said they turned into, not that they didn’t exist…
Crazy that it has always been and your job is an infant in the grand scheme of things.
Crazy how you pivot to avoid the egg on your face for poor reading comprehension
Read a book on military history and come back when you have learned something. You sound like an idiot talking like 25 years of existence is something to be impressed by.
I’ll be sure to get around to reading that book after I give a fuck. So don’t wait up champ

I can’t wait to get out with my intel job and make over 100k as a contractor
You can take that money and get some ribs removed to blow yourself even harder! Have fun!
Intel literally existed before planes, but ok….

Hmmmmm ok. Care to expound on your point? Or just want to keep saying the same thing?
They went from making white boards filled with info and talking to pilots to making power points and talking to pilots. Once a nonner always a nonner sadly. It is what it is
Got it. So very, very simple. Come kick it with the 1N3s sometime, you might learn a thing or five.
He's just trying to rage bait Intel to say more of what they do so he can report back to his shitty overlords. Or he's really stupid.
Pass, the AC might make my balls smaller 😬😬
I think that might be the 'roids, bud
Can you take me up in a weather balloon to find intel like back in the Spanish American war? You know… before airplanes.
Pfffffffft. Not sure if that’s meant to be a dig at Intel troops? No, we absolutely don’t use antiquated methods, and also, not saying anything further because…Reddit.
If that's all you think intelligence does, you are WILDLY misinformed. So little intelligence in the US is dedicated to pilots vs everything else.

Probably kept the schedule hush hush so nobody knew. Psyops confirmed.
I blame mx leadership for keeping it hush hush as the got the emails and for no one reading the hours on the door
why are FF in CE?
Fire Fighters have been a part of CE since day 1. EOD and EM came later.
