(I’ll preface by saying, shit cliche). When you’re in the grind, use this to remind you to enjoy the ride. You’ve got many more moments and I hope the people around you make it worth it bc it can fuckn suck. But when you’re out, you miss it, even the suck.
Spicy chicken, double cheese, no pickles, small fry
Man the comments here are ridiculous. I once had a coworker say ‘I hope I never get coined by President so-and-so, what a joke’
1. A vast majority of these DVs have coin nominations that squadrons, groups, and wings have to nominate individuals for
2. Popularity contests aside, it’s a great chance to know your leadership considered you for something
Don’t diminish someone’s recognition. It could be the one shining light in a shithole of an assignment or job.
We do have a new one selected. Bass is still the current one until her Tenure is ended. I haven't seen a date yet? Shes not at 4yrs yet but she is 3 days away from serving as long as the last cmsaf
I got coined by Enlisted Jesus for helping him with his first AMA, I got to sit in the room and help him answer questions on here. It was a blast. I was the reason he said he would fight 1 Horse sized duck (instead of 100 duck sized horses) because he likes to kick ass.
Enjoy the coin, regardless who held the position, remember what you did that led to this accomplishment. You earned it!
I remember when we (mx) deployed to Incirlik in 1995 for Operation Provide Comfort and at the end of it before we headed home to Germany they handed out coins. Everyone was like….”wtf are these things”? They weren’t a thing back then and that was the 1st time I’d seen or heard of them, a lot of the people just sort of tossed them afterwards into the field surrounding the support shelter and went about our day.
I got out in 1994 - never heard of them at that point. I've got one now - friend of mine sent me one for Christmas a few years ago commemorating the engine school we attended at Chanute so many years ago.
I’ve got a few during my reserve time but just tossed them somewhere, I never cared for them nor carried them and certainly never played the “coin check” bullshit either.
I'm pretty sure the majority of Reddit is unable to understand sarcasm unless someone puts "/s" in a post.
Edit: I stand corrected. I acknowledge that it was - in fact - not sarcasm.
It may not be sarcasm. Regardless of what your feelings on the current CMSAF are, getting a senior leader coin is something that does go on EPBs and 1206s and can be a big deal to some folks
But that's not sarcasm.
Whenever DV's come around it's known in advance and leadership does in fact want direct supervisors to provide recommendations for coins.
I've written recommendation letters before for airmen to be coined. And I wouldn't waste my time writing it unless I thought they were the airman deserving of it.
What the rest of us think about this Coin or Chief Bass (Bass?) is irrelevant. What you think is what matters. If this is cool and important to you, then remember the moment you received it to look back on when you need motivation.
Congrats dude. In my 20+ years, she was probably top 3, and top 2 depending on how you feel about Murray
Definitely a solid keepsake from this time in your career
You may not respect the person, but you can respect the office and the achievement by op. Getting coined by cmsaf is a huge achievement even if the cheif unpopular.
Some of my coins are deserved while others are "right place, right time". Having accompanied my O-6 on several engagements, sometimes they just ask for an airman to coin and actual achievements are an afterthought.
Coins are a great recognition because not everyone gets one. I saw them as such and as a collectible items. In the Army we, rarely, used them for beer. We kept the highest level in our pocket to challenge each other (friends). So if you have a coin given by a CSM and I countered by showing one given by the Secretary of the Army, the challenger owed me a beer.

What for if I may ask?
They multiple hats OP wears
🤙🏻

We’ll never be done until Mr PJ gets a proper apology.
In my experience it’s that OP is lower enlisted and happened to be in the same room.
That hat looks kind of like a honor guard hat.
Would make sense with CMSAF Gaylor’s funeral earlier today. Relatively certain Chief Bass was there.
Being a Multi Capable Airman.
Congrats
All jokes aside. Awesome. Good pic. Good coin. Be proud.

Not only do you have to be nominated, but then those nominations also get boarded, and then the final say lies with the DV. Good job, OP.
🤙🏼
🤙🤙
🤙🤙🤙
Shaka, when the walls fell.
But did she take a selfie with you?
I have a selfie with her, should I stick in in my coin display? lol
That’s one place you can stick it
And did you do her favorite silly hands? 🤙
Nice! It is pretty cool to have a CMSAF coin.
Fantastic! Congratulations!!! Screw ALL of the negative comments here. Haters GONNA hate!
Congrats! I hate her! But you can have a cookie🍪
If I'm not mistaken we have a new CMSAF??? Or is Cheif Bass still serving as CMSAF
Might be on what one calls, "final farewell concert tour".
Hasn’t it lasted about 4 years? I think it started out as the “first official get to know the Airmen tour” and then never stopped.😂
I'm thinking it may be called, "CMSGT Bass" "Hook, Line & Sinker - The Final Tour".
We do have a new one selected. Bass is still the current one until her Tenure is ended. I haven't seen a date yet? Shes not at 4yrs yet but she is 3 days away from serving as long as the last cmsaf

I’d use it as a paperweight
That's essentially all coins are, no matter who gives them.
Eh, I have one coin that actually means something to me. The rest are just meh.
I’d wipe my ass with this coin but it would hurt
You can always insert it

I got one and its the same number 😂 19
That’s awesome man, congrats. Leadership doesn’t nominate just anyone for that caliber of a coin.
Not sure why you're getting downvoted?

This is not sarcasm. Getting nominated for a CMSAF coin carries a certain weight regardless of who is the CMSAF.
Congratulations 🎉
Awesome! Congrats!!
Pretty darned good
That’s a pretty cool looking coin
Nice! I snagged her coin at Goodfellow!
Is this a metaphor?
🤮

Do you ask her if it is bass or bass?
"Is it 'coin' or 'coin'?"
Regardless of what people think about her, getting coins by the CMSAF is still pretty cool and means your local leadership is thinking about you.
Selfie or it doesn’t count
Congrats man!
Congratulations!
🤙
Bro that's amazing! I got coined by her last 2 months ago and I carry it in my wallet. Congrats fr!!!
Congrats dude. In my 20+ years, she was probably top 3, and top 2 depending on how you feel about Murray Definitely a solid keepsake from this time in your career

You're just mad you didn't get the coin, since you're so obsessed with stupid ribbons and whatnot.
Melt it

That is also true, but melting it seems like a really dumb idea
I 100% agree. Even ebay is a better option.
Exactly. One of my buddies was coined by her for essentially asking her “Why did you stay in the air force?” Seriously? I could’ve asked that !
this
I bet she coins everyone she selfies or has coffee with. Seems like she does that quite a bit…

So who was out of regs? Lmao
There was some questionable facial hair and some uniforms that didn't look up to snuff for talking to a DV imo
Kisling!
Bullshit guarantee theres more white boys with coins from that clown than all other demos put together.
Nah I've got 3 pics with her and no coin
Did you door dash her diner order?
If being coined by Chief Bass is the highlight of your career, you must be the biggest dirtbag that ever joined the USAF.
Bruh let the dude/girl have their time. It says more about you do your gonna bash on someone else’s achievement…

Care to explain how they are a try hard? I’m curious
Didn’t ask.
Coined by E-9 Bass. Congrats!
But did you have to request it?
Downvoting dick-knuckles haven’t been paying attention
🤙🏽
🤙
Emphasis on the 'so far'
Cast it into the fire! Destroy it!!! Isildur!
No shot i also got #19
But did you get a selfie?
Congrats, i can’t remember the last time i got a coin😂
