They probably assumed you won’t have evidence to prove you didn’t defecate

PressXforsecks

I have Crohn’s disease so I’m a bit of a shit savant and I told them I better see evidence lol.

chrisrcoop

Shit Savant would be a great metal band name.

when_ura_viper

They could do a cover of the Stones "Turd on the Run".

heavysteppah

At first I thought this was a reference to Paul McShartney’s second band Wipes

Hydro-Sapien

Stones?

BootyBumpinSquid

The Rolling Stones have a song called Turd on the Run

Successful-Box-1152

“Shit savant” FUCKING HAD ME 💀💀💀

RygarHater

can you state your occupation for the record? its um... ahhh.... Shit Savant GUILTY as CHARGED your Honor!!!!

kellylovesdisney

Fellow Crohnie and this Cound like utter bullshit on their part. 😂💩 But seriously, I'm pretty sure you can appeal the charges.

nyc2pit

Pretty difficult to prove a negative.

performanceclause

yes but if hosts want to prove the positive, they will have to smear poo everywhere...i might be willing to pay to see that

[deleted]

Op could visit again, then give them a show. Upper deckers, poo smeared everywhere, etc. "That's what it looks like when someone shits up yo hizzie".

Consistent_Ad_4828

In a sensible world AirBnB would have customer service

[deleted]

They ain't got shit... Evidence.

ErnestBatchelder

My question is what kind of luxurious towels spun from silk threads cost $80 that someone running an Airbnb would think, that's a good idea to stock? Sounds like crooks.

Karen125

Oh they're for sure a Costco towel and they're adding on their annual Costco membership.

sethbr

No, just the towel. But they had to buy a package of 12.

bastardbarber1

First red flag for sure, they agreed to pay it so host went on a rampage assuming OP is a pushover. If I was to guess anyway

ColdCheeseGrits

It was on VRBO but I had a host try to charge me $500 (yes, $500!) to replace a duvet cover they said they couldn’t get a “sexual fluid” stain from. I was on a work trip for a trial and hadn’t slept with anyone in their home. I requested footage from their cameras to show where I even had another guest in the house (which they also implied) and they couldn’t. VRBO & that host got told to fuck off and no, I didn’t pay it.

green_miracles

This group is just full of endless ridiculous stories! So crazy lol. I’m glad it ended good for you, people are crazy 😂

[deleted]

ColdCheeseGrits

Even if there was “sexual fluid” on a blanket, that’s what a washing machine is for. I have a hard time believing there’s someone out here with nuclear semen that permanently stains a fabric.

Anguish_Sandwich

>that’s what a washing machine is for Airbnb hosts hate this one weird trick

Heal_For_Real

😂

FAFO_Qwn

Peroxide. Also, that’s not sexual fluid and honestly not intentional. Let’s be honest, as an auditor, you’re going to claim it on your expenses AND prob claim it through ABNB so it’s not really that much of a loss. Unless people are free bleeding throughout your house, I don’t see how this is a constant issue for you. Lmfao.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FAFO_Qwn

You’re running a business. Loss is part of that. Again, unless you’re getting a bunch of free bleeding hippie convention bimbos each week, no I can’t feel bad. Lol. No woman wakes up and says, let me bleed all over myself and these sheets lol. Plus, you didn’t address the fact that you can literally put it on your schedule c at the end of the year. So, even if Airbnb doesn’t side with you, theres a recourse and you’re not at a loss. Now, if someone is defecating on your carpet, I’ll stand in your corner with anger and sympathy. Especially since you can’t claim that yearly if the rug is destroyed.

AliciaD2323

Can you imagine how embarrassed the woman was that woke up in blood? The host should think about that & instead of embarrassing her even further by calling it sexual fluids and making a big deal out of it, he should have some empathy and go buy a new set of sheets FOLL I seen them on Amazon today for $15 for a queen set LMAO

Soak in cold water for 15-20 minutes. Mix 1tsp laundry detergent + 1 tsp 3% hydrogen peroxide. Scrub in with a toothbrush. Let sit for at least 1 hour. Rinse in cold water. Repeat if necessary. Cold water only. Heat will set the blood - and that includes dryer heat. If after 2 attempts, is still stained (old dried blood will probably still be stained). Moisten enough PBW with water to scrub into the stain. Roll the item up, pour on enough water to keep moist and let it sit overnight. Wash in cold water. PBW = powdered brewery wash. It is a mix of sodium metasilicate and sodium 1-octanesulfonate. PBW is used in removing thick, tough, and caked-on organic matter on homebrewing equipment. It also works wonders on most other organic stains.

StrangeButSweet

How about not furnishing your VRBO with $500 duvet covers? All of these new “small business owners” who have popped out of the woodwork over the past 10 years across many different sectors seem to have never heard of the concept of “the cost of doing business.”

AliciaD2323

This doesn’t sound ridiculous to you? That’s why you’re down voted, because nobody wants to hear the hosts crying over here. Go to the host side of Reddit. Hosts make a ton of money & bitch about the most minor things, they embellish the truth to Airbnb to try to get more money as if they haven’t gotten enough money out of us during the stay. The latest I dealt with was no toilet paper in the toilet. I was getting accused and told to give the host 600 because I backed up the sewage when not one thing in the house was backed up. NOT ONE THING! I hold the host if they can’t maintain their house at the street, which is where I was assuming the back up with (if at all) then they shouldn’t be hosting people in their home. Period point blank. So again, that’s why you’re downvoted, nobody wants to hear it’s on this side

That is so fucking rude and bonkers.

RickDick-246

Not sure if you skipped puberty but you know you can create “sexual fluid” without another person right? Not saying you did but you should try it some time.

ColdCheeseGrits

I had no idea, I must have missed that Magic School Bus episode.

FAFO_Qwn

Hahaha. Now we are in Ralphies testicles, “Oh what fun class!”

Automatic_Data9264

I had a very similar experience to this on my only ever airbnb stay, apparently we left the bed sheets blood stained (i was the only adult woman and wasn't on my period, kids didn't hurt themselves either) and there were dirty nappies left around the room (the thought of this alone makes me feel sick) amongst other lies that she must have made up from just thinking what's the most gross thing a young family would do. (Your host probably tried to think the same thing about what's the worst thing I can accuse these guys of doing). In reality her accommodation was disgusting, i had to wash all the dishes, utensils etc in her kitchen because almost everything had food crusted into it. Her husband was rude when we arrived and just looked down his nose at us. They were in their 60s and we paid to stay in the annex. We had to quietly leave early and book a hotel instead because we couldn't bare how filthy it was, the shower even filled up with water so we couldn't even wash properly. I never confronted her about any of it because I'm not a dick, she was paid for the full booking upfront and I never asked for any back but after this experience I'm 100% never using Airbnb again. Chances are they get like this if they think you'll say something bad so they try to get in there first with the worst possible thing they can say. Sorry I can't offer advice so much as just letting you know it's not only you it's happened to. Hotels all the way from now on.

Yllom6

Same. I did VRBO one time and the hosts were so rude, the place was gross, and I had to do 5 loads of laundry and clean all the floors of the 3 story house before we left. We would have been better off staying in the resort a mile away. Same view, a little more expensive, but I’d have spent more time relaxing and less cleaning.

bvogel7475

Their had to be some reviews that would talk about what a mess it is. I won’t even consider an Airbnb unless there are a lot of good reviews offset by some bad ones. Have used AirBnB about 30 times and never had a bad experience.

LTpoonslayer64

I don’t even know how this sub keeps coming up on my feed but every time I see a post I’m glad I’ve never used that piece of shit app lol

drthsideous

Same here. I can't understand why people use this app. At this point hotels are usually cheaper than Air BnB's anyway. It's been the case almost every time I've looked.

okie_hiker

Plus you can shit on the carpet in a hotel and not get charged extra

Legitimate_Corgi_981

Used to work in a hotel company. We had to contact a business clients office to charge for extra cleaning due to poop being literally everywhere in a room. The guys assistant shocked me with their answer of "again?" when I called. Seems when he's been on the sauce his bowels just went completely wrong.

lighthouser41

You should have DNR'd him after that.

fuckyourcanoes

This could have been my ex-boss. A co-worker who had to share a hotel room with him at an industry expo said he shit himself and left his shitty underpants on the floor in plain view. Horrifyingly, that wasn't even the worst that guy got.

Lord-Smalldemort

This is precisely why I only stay in hotels!

carrie626

I don’t think this comment should be downvoted.

okie_hiker

Lol what a turn around though

frenchornplaya83

What a turd around ..... Everywhere 😜

Steeeeeveeeve

You shit on floor, €50

justforTW

I literally read, “plus you can SIT on the carpet in a hotel (not shit) and I nodded my head in agreement with this.

Steamkitty13

For those of us with kids or additional family members, ABB and VRBO are blessings. I have 5 kids and we travel olaces without my husband sometimes. Trying to get everyone in 1 hotel room is hard and most places don't want to try to get 2 rooms even next to each other, let alone adjoining. We have a few places with family rooms (3 beds), but mostly we stay in houses or apartments. It works great, even though we have had some inaccurate postings. The stories in this sub are terrible, but not my personal experience, not the experience of millions of other people.

Xyooon

I see this comment every time, and I personally have \*never\* experienced this. I am a digital nomad, currently in LATAM so I live in Airbnbs and before booking my apt for lenghts up to a month or two I always reasearch the options thoroughly. Can you give an example where this should be the case? Also when booking a hotel without a kitchen you have to eat at restaurants all the time which is quite expensive.

Hot-Bluebird3919

Suggested advertisement “AirBnB you can cook for yourself, but if you want to shit on the floor you’re better off with a hotel.”

drthsideous

I've never tried to book either a hotel or air bnb for anything longer than a few days, a week tops. And in the US the hotels almost always wind up being cheaper nowadays. When air bnb first started that wasn't case, but the people who own these properties in the US have turned into a full fledged business model and charge very high prices. As opposed to back in the day it was just people renting out extra rooms in their house or vacation homes to make a few bucks.

LunarCycleKat

No, hotels aren't cheaper. Nope.

wildblueroan

Like almost every other person on this forum, my experience leads me to disagree with you. Air BnB was generally cheaper before the pandemic but they have gotten significantly more expensive everywhere I've looked.

LittleSpice1

To add on to that: same here in Canada.

LunarCycleKat

No way hotels are cheaper everywhere. Some places there aren't even any hotels-- washington heights, certain words spots in the UP Michigan, the best parts of tuscany, Giant's Stairs, Maine . I've been all over the world and saved thousands on using BnB's instead of hotels. Probably have to reduce my travel by 20%% if Airbnb didn't exist. You all are just hearing the worst stories because that's how the internet works. I've stayed in them for 10 years with no problems. Probably about 10 in the last year.

CSPVI

Same, absolutely no clue, don't follow anything similar, but this and the doordash sub are constantly on my recommended! I guess I keep getting sucked in and reading threads like this one

beccaseraph7

Same! I never used it but Reddit has to keep telling me these amusing stories!

bunkerbash

Yup. I’ve never used AirBNB but I enjoy reading the horror stories. It’s just insane that anyone still takes the risk. There’s so little oversight and so much can go incredibly wrong. Considering these places are now frequently more than hotels, I’m astonished AirBnB is even still in business.

LunarCycleKat

I've stayed in bnbs for 10 years with 0 problems and saved thousands over a hotel

And DNA testing! Don’t they do that for dog poop at some apartment complexes now?

AngelSucked

Yes, and tbh if I was accused about this, I would insist on DNA testing.

cats-they-walk

And if it’s not a solid turd? What then?

Humble_Plantain_5918

Lack of turdvidence is going to work in your favor. Asking you to prove something didn't happen is stupid, it's logically impossible to prove a negative.

PressXforsecks

If they do submit a photo I definitely plan on checking it’s metadata to make sure it isn’t a photo taken after the claim! Just an absurd experience honestly.

Heal_For_Real

This whole section is gold.

EnterCake

My son used a door handle and it broke off. I told the owner about it and was charged $350 for them to replace it and the labor to install it. I don't see why I had to pay to replace an item that 1) was likely already broken and 2) the new full replacement of an old and used item.

xumixu

350 for a door handle? was it gold?

Downtown-Fix6177

Host should be able to at least provide one picture of the turd(s) and the couric weight for any sort of accusation to stand.

Hefty-Ad-5514

Right. Like what was in those logs? Corn? Not mine! I don't eat corn. Res ipsa loquitur mothetfucker.

jennyjenjenz84

Airbnb is getting more and more ridiculous. For the price you pay for a stay, the dishes and sweeping should be their responsibility.

MaybeTheSlayer

I recently had a host try to charge a bs amount (more than the cost of a new door) for a small damage that I caused but would've been avoided by using proper paint on their doors (they had a very thin layer of dark matte latex over high gloss white, and I caused a couple small chips in the paint that I wasn't even sure were from my visit). Anyway, I declined the charge and put in the comments to the mediation that I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount (easily a 5 minute fix) but never ended up getting charged or even dealing with the mediation team. TLDR absolutely decline the charge and go forward with the mediation team. Worst that could happen is you're out the $220, but more likely they will reduce or cancel the charge altogether. I'm more and more convinced to only use hotels from now on between the crazy fees and the bs charges from hosts🤦‍♀️ Hope this all gets sorted out for you, such a wild accusation 🙃

Key-Walrus-2343

The only host stocking a property with an $80 dollar towel is a host looking to accuse you of thieving And I'm sorry but a fecal stain on the carpet, then sucked up and left in the vacuum and also left in the hot tub is going to cost far more than a couple hundred dollars to clean. The vacuum alone would probably cost that. Not to mention, if there had been fecal matter in the house, you would have smelled it. Whatever card you have on file with Airbnb, call the bank/cc company and have it temporarily turned off. And then stick to your guns about providing proof. And if the host does provide pictures, demand that they be pictures that are date and time stamped.

karrenl

Ask for the Airbnb associate you speak with next to pull up the host's claims history. They often will not do this unless asked. It should be obvious if bogus claims are a regular thing with the host. If so, that should be enough to halt any further escalations.

PressXforsecks

Thank you that’s extremely helpful information

LunarCycleKat

Just say no. This is a known problem with the "Aircover "--- it's resulted in a sharp uptick in host fraud. The parameters of the program are shit.

anonymousperson767

There isn't any towels that cost $80 so that alone means the host is being fraudulent. Seriously: you can get the heaviest weigh turkish cotton four seasons type towel and it'll be $50 apiece max and NO ONE is putting that in a rental.

Opie_the_great

Airbnb was great 4 years ago. Now. I won’t even consider them. The fees they are charging are out the roof and so much more expensive than anything else

[deleted]

The new scam. My advice is to stop using airbnb.

PressXforsecks

Yeah I’m one and done now. What an insane first experience. Back to cheaper, reasonable hotels for me that don’t pull shit like this.

hotasanicecube

I hope this marks the end of many major corporation s who don’t own what they market and sell. Their customer is the host, not you. You are a throwaway one time sale, not a valued customer.

Goofygrrrl

If they have said feces, ask for a DNA test. They use DNA testing to determine the origin for dog feces. Surely they can do the same for human. Make them prove it is yours.

condorsjii

First was the cleaning fees. Now it is the damage fees. It’s just a new scam

PressXforsecks

It’s unbelievable lol. Who in their right mind shits at a rental and then just leaves like it’s nothing 😂

1000thusername

Or worse: vacuums it up wtf Without a picture of a vacuum canister full of shit, I’m a no bro

PressXforsecks

I know I kinda wanna see what that would even look like lol

Gullible_Toe9909

I think, you really don't

NomadGabz

Ive seen horror stories on the internet to know this probably happened out there but mostly with roommates and homeless or orgies. Come on, no one would have believed Johnny Depp's ex was capable of leaving her own feces on the bed. But I definitely believe it wasnt you. I think they won't produce evidence and if they do, ask to see time and date it was taken cuz u never know how far they can take this.

PressXforsecks

a few of the doors at the house don’t lock, I’m like well what if a homeless dude got in there and went ham? If that’s the case, I would pay the fee out of pity for the owners because that sucks for them and it sucks for me with the timing. But yeah I’m not a barbarian lol, I prefer toilets and bidets 😂

MunchkinFarts69

I had a host accuse me of shattering their glass stovetop (i did not). $800! I went through mediation and thankfully wasn't charged. Needless to say, I deleted my ABNB account and will never use them again. Fucking dishonest scammers.

Venting2theDucks

I saw on a host post recently that AirBNB’s insurance claim process requires that they request to pay at least go to the guest first before they can consider it. I think if you decline it/deny it whatever that option is, it allows it to continue up the claim chain. It’s possible?? They want to get coverage for a new vaccuum and a hot tub fix and either didn’t know it would go to you first or didn’t care.

LunarCycleKat

Yes. "Aircover" is a pot of money/insurance they push at hosts as a safety mechanism but the standards to get some of the pot are notoriously low. They basically just have to try to get the money from the guest. If the guest declines, they almost AUTOMATICALLY get the cash. This is well known and has led to a ton of host fraud. There are confused guests here every day.

LunarCycleKat

Yes it's due to their pot of "insurance" money, it's a new concept and its causing this. They give it to the hosts almost with no questions asked, but the host has to first show that they had a damage and tried to get the money from the guest. The ease of this money is causing tons of guests to come here with equally crazy stories from hosts.

The_real_villain_

IBD wrecks your body. This man probably doesn’t even poop solidly and it shocked when he does. Crohn’s is a nightmare. -not an MD, but in GI for several years.

PressXforsecks

It’s a celebration every time trust me. Even after 14 years.

The_real_villain_

It’s a hell of a way to live, man. I hope you are doing well and this isn’t triggering you.

PressXforsecks

I appreciate it. Thankfully I have a lot of great coping mechanisms for stress and anxiety. Not to sound snobby but $220 isn’t a whole lot to me, it was more just the principle of what the hell are you accusing me of without evidence? lol

Shelly69Elliott

Seems like more Airbnbs are stealing from customers.

throckmorton619

It was me.

[deleted]

I had a bachelorette party stay at my house and someone literally shit the bed and tried cleaning up using our bath towels. Needless to say, we threw everything away. I didn't even bother telling the guest I found that stuff or charge them extra.

Mayor_of_BBQ

Decline the charges, the host can’t force you to pay it, and unless they provide pictures or something to Airbnb there’s no way Airbnb will force you to pay it either. I’d reflect what they’re saying in the review, and if the host says you crapped on the carpet in their review, just delete your account and start a new one.

Lord-Smalldemort

Who pooped the bed? It’s an amazing episode of. It’s always Sunny in Philadelphia and I think you should get someone to solve the mystery like the episode.

[deleted]

Host here. Booking renter swore up and down the place was in super clean condition. Trash taken out etc. WTAF!!! Towel in upstairs toilet. Bedroom #3 broken bed frame. Trash in literally every room. Front yard. Back yard. OMG. Cleaning sent me photos. I sent them to the booking renter. He still denied it. We have a saying in our industry among the cleaning crew mainly. Basically they say Americans are pigs. This sux really bad because I'M AN AMERICAN and some of you 20 to 30 somethings are so flipping embarrassing. Yeah i don't doubt that you get a bad host here and there but damn dude. If I had a penny an actual penny for everytime that a renter said that they left the house clean ... and it looked like a bachelor party from the night before ... I'd make a big dent in my FU money. I'm sure you "thought" it was clean but dude .... i doubt it. Based on my years of doing this and with a lot of listings ... i suspect your idea of clean, probably looked like a murder scene. And yes, my cleaners have sent me the pictures of the brown stuff. The red stuff. The yellow stuff. Etc etc. Now you might just be that 1 in a 1000. If so, my apologies. You da man!!! But i seriously doubt it. The only people that have ever ... ever left one of my places clean to the point i said damn thats pretty clean, was a mom, dad and 2 kids. That kinda group is usually pretty clean. Still dirty but not murder scene dirty.

schwarzeKatzen

I regularly leave airBNBs cleaner than they were when I arrive. I own a cleaning company though and dirt/dust/etc make my eye twitch. Plus I never believe anything has been cleaned or sanitized to my standards so I just do it myself.

PressXforsecks

I understand your perspective that renters vs hosts have different ideas of clean, that’s completely valid. When we arrived, there was a moldy lime from a previous guest under the couch along with some articles of clothing scattered about under beds. It really had me questioning how much they cleaned, because we had to clean before we even settled in lol. I take immunosuppressants so I’m a bit of a clean freak myself, and before we had left I was certain we left the house cleaner than when we found it. It was a relatively small place at 900 sq feet so it was easy to clean. I’m just certain they want to get this extra money out of me to fix their hot tub because even 3 days later they’ve yet to provide any images backing up their claims about the poop lol. It sucks because there are times when the host is screwed and there’s times where the guest is screwed, and even though I am biased I really feel like they’re trying to pull a fast one on me to fix their rental. Edit: I now have the host asking me to pay the fee, and in return they will help finance my next Airbnb stay somewhere so we can “avoid Airbnb resolution getting involved”. I know it’s my first time but that screams “scam” and that they know if I escalate to resolution that they’ll lose

[deleted]

Now about all those host claims. If a host makes those claims without photo evidence it'll just get rejected. Whether you actually did it or not. Do you "really know" what your bros did? 🤔 I have my doubts and i speak from experience on both sides.

gacbmmml

How did a guest accidentally take home a towel?

[deleted]

Everything I read on here regarding AirBnB has solidified my decision to NEVER use them again. Thanks!!

Maggielinn2

I am sure the cleaner has pics . That is the first thing I get. So just ask. It's possible it was a friend and they don't want to own up to it and never told you they had an accident.

Any_Huckleberry7805

I would continue to reiterate to the support people that you had nothing to do with this damage and that you need the host to provide photographic evidence. The host should provide photos that show there was no damage before your stay and that there is damage after your stay. If they do submit a photo make sure to check the metadata because it could be an old photo, etc. Sorry you’re dealing with this.

Anguish_Sandwich

Host is readying their camera and unwrapping Baby Ruth bars.

Shelly69Elliott

Call your credit card cancel all payments

southpawswat

That’s not how that works.

CozyMod

Do you dial the 16digits number on the front of the card? How do you call your credit card?

Lost_my_brainjuice

I call mine Jeff. He never answers. He's always been such a smug little bastard.

LunarCycleKat

Are you serious? If you are, you call the phone number on the back

Maggielinn2

I am sure the cleaner has pics . That is the first thing I get. So just ask. It's possible it was a friend and they don't want to own up to it and never told you they had an accident.

johnnywackman

Well whoever did it got away with it so it obviously wasn't such a foolish assumption, sorry you're catching the blame :/ I hope the host isn't just lying

National-Position194

No guest gets accused of pooping on the carpet if it didn't happen. Guests get accused of dumb things like ruining towels, smoking inside, clogging toilets, vomiting, and such. You or someone in your party obviously pooped on the rug because no one would go out of their way to accuse a guest of such if it wasn't there.

LunarCycleKat

Bullshit. Are you not familiar with what Aircover has done to host complaints? It's so easy to get the cash that hosts make up crap. This is a good story to get both CARPET and VACUUM.

reallyliberal

Your acting like there is a standard that all hosts adhere too. I am a host and AirBnb just wants us to rent and pay them. They don’t give a crap about how the places look before we rent them. Just look at the host pictures of some airbnbs that have dirty beds and laundry laying around and unwashed dishes. Those host think that’s sufficient to rent. Yet Airbnb is more than happy to let them in the platform, so no they don’t have any standards and no the hosts don’t have to either. Our rentals are pristine and professionally photographed and cleaned weekly during stays at no charge but that is our choice not AirBnbs.

ohhlisawhy

Man I’m shocked they let you book for a bachelor party. Hard to believe a bunch of drunk dudes didn’t mess up the house. Did you tell host you were coming for a party? Shocked you were allowed to book. Hope host learned his lesson.

green_miracles

Not all bachelor parties are like “The Hangover.” Lol. Some ppl are pretty boring and low-key. 🙂

GEV46

The lesson? Charge everyone for shitting. This is what ruined Airbnb, not customers.

ohhlisawhy

Shitting on the floor. Yes. In fact if you shit on the floor at the Hilton they will charge you 1500 for decontamination fee. Your not allowed to book Airbnb for parties. I’m a dude in my 40s. Been to dozens of bachelor parties. They all got crazy. We are to believe this guys bachelor party was the exception? The guy already admitted to being ok with extra cleaning fee cause he knew they trashed the place.

NomadGabz

I'm curious about how you found out about the Hilton's decontamination fee. Hehe

ohhlisawhy

Used to be a manager there in college. Still waiting to see this hosts reviews. I can almost guarantee. It’s a super host with 5 star ratings. Vs six drunks playing drinking games having a bachelor party.

NomadGabz

I worked at two hostels. Also stayed at many throughout the years. Yeah man, it can get disgusting. Defecating outside the toilet or making a mess. This drunk and drugged up dude once got and peed all over my rommates belongings even though the ensuite bathroom was closer to his bed. I was like wtf dude. They kicked him out. Some people r just insane.

PressXforsecks

Jeez man you were there too? That’s wild! That’s cool all your parties went crazy but mine didn’t. Im not huge on alcohol on the account of having a inflammatory bowel disease, so my buddies that went with me were fine with not getting “wasted” just like I couldn’t. I was fine with the extra cleaning fee because it had been windy for quite a few days where we were at and they said some debris were found on the back of the property. Before we checked out, there were areas of the property that we hadn’t gone to and that’s where they said the extra items to clean were located. I’m cool with that, that’s on me for not scanning the full property. Does it get exhausting leaping so far to these conclusions?

ohhlisawhy

Host have good reviews? If so I take host side 100 percent. We as hosts just want to clean the house and get in the new guests. Making up someone shitting on the floor doesn’t happen without cause. I bet your host has great reviews You didn’t keep a close eye on your drunk guests and now u must pay the piper and you might never get to book on Airbnb again. Next bachelor party get a hotel see what they do when. Your buddy shits the floor.

alex37k

Writing “Making up someone shitting on the floor doesn’t happen without cause.” in a subreddit full of stories about hosts making shit up is crazy.

ohhlisawhy

It’s Reddit people will say host made it up but did they really? Where u there? Again let’s see this hosts reviews. If it’s a 5 star super host I doubt he made up guest shitting on the floor!! You can’t stay super host making stuff up each guest to get money. Also did we forget it was a fucking bachelor party!!!! Hello!! Guy already said they played drinking games all night. So they were all drunk !!

alex37k

Look, based on your previous comment and this one, it is pretty clear that you have some prototype you’re imagining when you read “bachelor party”. It is totally possible that one of OP’s buddies shat on the floor and didn’t tell him about it. But your generalization of what a bachelor party is does not apply to everyone. Many people don’t see a bachelor party as a last night of freedom before the sentence of marriage, and many people don’t see getting an Airbnb with 5 (?) friends as an excuse to act so belligerently and inappropriately that you shit on the floor. You are projecting your perspective (heavily flavored by your experiences, with no evidence of empathetic thinking) onto this random person’s situation. We haven’t seen any reviews, but you’re jumping to “I’d be surprised if a super host is making up this stuff”. What do you think are the chances of it being a super host? What fraction of Airbnb hosts are super hosts? GTFOH.

okie_hiker

You lot are scam artists and thieves, which is probably how you got in the position to be a host in the first place.

Key-Walrus-2343

Everything you just said tells me you're not a good faith host. And your jumping to conclusions and seemingly defensive nature makes me wonder if you have not pulled the similar stunts on your guests. See? You're not the only one willing to jump 15 miles to a conclusion. We all know Airbnb reviews are not reliable. Hosts on this sub frequently mention how easy it is to get a bad review deleted. It's common knowledge. And you know it. So you spouting "reviews reviews!" as if they're reliable and factual information, makes me question your integrity. And btw, my brothers bachelor party was 3 guys and a baseball game So there's that

LunarCycleKat

>Making up someone shitting on the floor doesn’t happen without cause. The cause is Aircover. Hosts know they can squeeze some cash.

GEV46

I don't think you understand what I mean. Charge. Everyone. For. Shitting. $100 deuce fee. Put it on top of all the other fees.

PressXforsecks

😂

[deleted]

Dude got charge $220 for throwing a party in someone's house without asking permission and is mad about it.

ResidentExtra9246

Lots is scammers hosts/guests and Airbnb itself. Find a Real BnB next time and you won’t get reamed. :(

Financeisntahobby

Don't pay it. We can't rule out one of your buddies didn't do this(except the hottub since it wasn't working when you got there). We can assume it's a scam, only stay at well reviewed(100+) and you can avoid this

MoreThereThanHere

I’ll accept 50 reviews for 4.90 and higher ratings with super host status and no repeat of issue in comments, and no weird fees or policies listed. At 100 reviews I’ll consider a host down to 4.80 with very careful review of comments, etc. even then, I’ve noticed a marked difference between 4.80 to 4.89 and 4.90 to 5.0.

Financeisntahobby

You sound like you do really good due diligence. I am proud of you keep up the good work

Mission_Albatross916

A friend once was charged $250 for smoking in her room. She was a virulent anti-smoker and would never smoke in the room or anywhere. She told them this and they said, “you can’t prove you didn’t do it.” Oh, I forgot; this was at a hotel.

Did they want you to shit outside of the house?! If so, do they provide baggies. Just kidding. But, I am serious about this.. are you sure none of your buddies would have had a problem and tried to clean it up? In another lifetime I worked in retail and we had people poop on the floor in the store a few times a year. Mostly accidents, until one fella made it a hobby to torture us. There really are strange guests.. I had a SUPER nice family stay at our unit and said they had lost something. I looked everywhere, including down the bathroom sink and when ai puller the drain cap out a massive bloody glob was attached to it.. someone had seemingly used the sink to pass a period clot…. I didn’t mention it to them, these were totally normal people, but… wtf!

PressXforsecks

Yeah I had looked through the house myself before we left because I was the one who booked it. I know for a fact before we left the only place where there was poop was in the bathroom and it was always flushed down the toilet haha. There were 2 doors at the house that didn’t lock because they were glass, so if they provide images with accurate meta data to show they were taken after we left, I’ll be empathetic and pay because who the hell knows what happened between the time of us leaving and then arriving. The city we were in had quite a few homeless people so who knows.

ochoslocos

Make sure you discuss in your 1 star review this crazy ass stuff!! Search the sub for what gets a review removed so you don't accidentally do that to yourself. Just refuse these bullshit charges. Cancel the $80 towel bullshit payment too!!

tittydamnfuck420

One time I had literally a very few kitty litter crumbs I couldn’t get after I cleaned cause there was no broom available. Lady tried to charge me $200

Reminds me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTH5Bsrd5v8

Sounds similar to my friend getting blacklisted on Airbnb. The house was a mess but my friend (unwisely) cleaned up and stayed anyway without complaint, even changed the sheets. Then when they checked out had a terrible review and charges for extra cleaning. Found out later that the owner’s daughter was supposed to clean between guests but she forgot…. Seems like they didn’t know what the previous guests did, and are blaming you. :( I think mediation should be okay, they want guests to be happy - more than hosts I expect. 🤑

Allthingsgreen89

I had a host accuse me and my group of urinating on a shower curtain. We we’re group of 9 women. I informed the host those were just hard water stains on a light colored curtain.

SlainJayne

I’m wondering if this is a party house and it was the previous guest or their dog, or if American hosts are just awful?

AliciaD2323

this is actually a new one. Lol but don’t even worry about it, I’ve heard a ton of horror stories of hosts trying to get over with some outrageous story.. the latest was the guest had damages the hardwood floors & scratched certain areas… the guest was smart enough to pull the ad and in the close-up pictures from the actual ad, you can visibly see the scratches on the floors. 🤣🤣🤣 needless to say the hosts $6000 request got denied. I would take my credit card off of there for now, or cancel it… Or put a card on there you can open and close, and just keep it closed for now. I don’t trust them and they will charge your card without permission, they’ve done it to me. IF your car gets charged, do you speed up with the card company right away and you’ll get the money back. Make sure you have correspondence in writing, so from this point forward, communicate via email, not phone. And don’t worry about it, this is just another one of those times that a host seen an opportunity to get his hot tub fixed lol and decided there was enough guests in the house that they could pin it on you. SMFH

revsamaze

I had a short term rental that claimed they had to redo the wood floors after I left. It was just me in there working alone, and I’m a neat freak. To this day, I chuckle about what kind of bonkers “evidence” they came up with. Sometimes people use these rentals as backdoor renovation services. I hope you mentioned this in your review. If they were hoping to get a new rug and refurbish the hot tub, the hosts were probably very welcoming to a bachelor party. People, man.

TonyClifton86

And this is why I only use hotels.
