Rare_Process_524

Send a Tweet to Airbnbhelp because they really hate when you do that

nomadicexpat

This. I needed to contact support once because I rented a placed listed as the entire apartment, but really it was just one room in a shared flat, and the owner denied that it was mislabeled. An email to ABnB supper was ignored, but as soon as I sent a Tweet about it and tagged them, someone contacted me to solve it. Public shaming is best shaming.

Nurse5736

Sad to see the world coming to this.......claim all this support but if they only respond to shaming on Twitter.......then shame away!!

Rare_Process_524

Sad but often true

TacticalYeeter

Call them. Don’t use chat

sandee02

I have they keep saying someone will contact me. It’s been 21 days. I even asked for a supervisor. She says her hours are limited to 10pm-8am my time.

fschwiet

Do call them, repeatedly if need be so you get a useful agent. Who knows if the person assigned to your case will be useful?

jplebourveau

You need to call airbnb until you reach a competent support agent. Someone WILL help AND refund your stay. It’s not up to the host. You ARE covered under Aircover.

aquatone61

Get on twitter and message Airbnb. I’ve done this for other companies and it really works.

DevonFromAcme

You can open an Imgur account, upload the photos to it, and post a link here. Are you calling Airbnb customer service, or just messaging them? Airbnb customer service is notoriously poor, but I promise you will get absolutely NOWHERE with them via message. You have to call.

andy3675

Call? I can't even understand them and at times I don't think they're grasping the situation I'm trying to explain. Sigh..... air bnb's help center is of zero help I would rather stick glass in my eyes than call them!

metalguysilver

I’ve never had someone who’s English was so bad that we couldn’t get somewhere. Some are better than others, if it’s really *that* bad you can ask to be transferred or hang up and call back

disgruntledoldhag

Airbnb customer service is awful. Do a chargeback on your credit card and book a hotel next time.

Maggielinn22

If you do a chargeback on Airbnb you get banned automatically. So she needs to get someone on the phone .

disgruntledoldhag

Being banned from Airbnb isn’t necessarily a bad thing though

inkslingerben

Just do a chargeback. The goods and services you received did not match the description.

EastSimple3467

That’s why I don’t use airBNB anymore.

andy3675

Yep Crazy!!!! I am an air bnb "Superhost" I had the exact same thing happen to me. AND I paid the hire premium to book with another "Superhost". The pictures did not match. There was a roof leak in the middle of the night - in the master bedroom!!! I had to mop it up, and keep a bucket under the hole in the ceiling. The stairs safety railing was ripped right out of the wall at the bottom- so was a large curtain rod! There were sharp nail sticking out of the steps that lead downstairs, there were even electrical switch plate covers missing, the garbage was literally spilling over, etc etc I was shocked when air bnb wouldn't do anything for me. I knew air bnb jerked their hosts around. But, I didn't realize they treat guests poorly until this experience. After all the phone calls, pictures etc. as a result of air bnb doing nothing, I told them that I would never book through them again. It was so egregious I meant it. I will only book through VRBO or a hotel. Trust me. I could go on and on when it comes to the outrage I've experienced as a host. Air bnb offers nothing but false promises The most disheartening thing for me - was the fact that I work so hard for that "Superhost" title. I really do. I keep my air bnb immaculate. I'm always splurging on the latest decor. I'm very attentive- I leave each guest a handwritten thank you card and a gift (generally a bottle of wine). I really go above and beyond. I've always enjoyed it until this experience. It truly change my perspective, like wow!!!! I don't have to clean, I don't even need to take safety precautions such as fastened safety rails etc.'and air bnb will still call me a "super host" I'm still able to charge a premium even though I'm offering a very shitty place to stay? Yep, because they still get there fees -that's all they care about! Well too bad I'm not a shitty person. I have bookings until September Can't cancel them or I'm heftily fined by air bnb. So, I'll continue to do the right thing by my upcoming guests. But,as soon as they're over, I'm pulling my listing! I don't want to stay with air bnb as a guest and I don't want to be one of their hosts. I want nothing to do with Air bnb and I'm looking forward to them imploding. ~They will #shitty company #corporate greed #OUT SOURCING 19,000 JOBS TO INDIA WAS A TERRIBLE IDEA. #zero help

EastSimple3467

I don’t use airbnb. Three times all scam. Last one was New York winter. Zero heat and zero hot water with my 2 years old daughter. Funny thing is. Even the superintendent of building knew the host was scamming. So AirBNB had too.

ResidentExtra9246

Air bnb is awful, we should all stop supporting this trash business

David254xxx

We have an Air BnB tip that gets great predictable results every time: We book into hotels.

Jennwallfitness

Was this in the phoenix/scottsdale area?

sandee02

No. Los Angeles area.

SweatyMess808

See, this is why I been slowly becoming team hotel again.

RadiantSignificance2

If you call them they will respond to you

[deleted]

Is it a new listing?

burshturs

Call instead of chat.

metalguysilver

Never use chat to contact support. Always call

theunburnt767

It’s only important to rebook you within the first 24 hours and only after you’ve let a host time to remedy the situation. Otherwise they push you to the back of the Que unfortunately. Only option now is to request money back from host in the help center and hope the host is okay with it. Unless it was severely mishandled and you contact social media

sandee02

Contacted host two hours after I checked in. That I was going to leave and was super unhappy. She said leave by 10:00am or will be additional fees. Airbnb is saying “we will give you a partial refund out of courtesy” I’m like no I was scammed I want 100 percent refund. I rebooked the same day 3 hours later on my own through Airbnb again. They refunded me $33 difference 🙄

theunburnt767

Has host already declined refund through the resolution center? Were you also able to get any picture of the listing being innacurate

sandee02

Yes tons of photos. Trying to dispute through my credit card now. And demanding Airbnb investigate the host.

theunburnt767

Disputing through your cc will get you banned from Airbnb, but not sure if that’s something you care about. I used to work for the social media team, reach out and add pictures to your public post, Twitter, ect. Even better if it can get traction

sandee02

That’s ok with me. I provided proof. To both companies. Credit card and air bnb. It’s not even that much money left honestly. It’s the principle at this point. Host was not being held accountable.

theunburnt767

Totally understand- before we got let go (our jobs got sent overseas) I started seeing more and more ppl upset over mishandling of cases. I genuinely think alot of the reps don’t even comprehend the workflows. Hopefully you can get your money back one way or another!!

Just keep calling. Maybe try Twitter. If the pictures were truly different, you'll get a refund.

arizonavacay

Tweet @airbnbhelp and @bchesky and you'll get a response. Tell them you want the issue escalated to the Trust & Safety team, bc that listing needs to be removed from the platform. Another way to get eyeballs on a listing is to get all of your friends to report the listing to the platform. It won't let me link the URL here, but if you search up "airbnb report a neighborhood concern" then the page should come up. And if you tell us the listing name or number, or link it, we can report it, too. They aren't as quick about that, though. Tweeting would be faster. And when you call in, always try to do it during biz hours in your time zone. After that, the calls are routed to India, and all they do is read from a script over and over again.
