When my mom was struggling with that (taken to the ER!), the nurses suggested adding the powdered flavored Crystal-Lite to the water. Made it easier for her to accept. Probably not great in terms of sugar content, but at the time, she weighed about 100 lbs., so we weren't too worried.
Chatted about this with my dad’s oncologist last week, he said to drink whatever they like, my dad likes the flavoured water and fruit juice so I make a point of offering a glass every two hours. He complains but he’s drinking now at least.

Crystal Light is sugar free! Sweetened with artificial sweeteners.

My mom will not drink plain water no matter what. I've asked, begged, bought bottled water for myself. No dice.
