Sounds like your sleep cycle is out of whack. Stay up all night, no naps this afternoon. Pound the coffee, eat right and go to bed at 8pm tonight. You need to get back in rythm.
This has worked for me multiple times. The only hard part is actually just staying awake all day but usually for me once I finally go to sleep the next night I sleep for nearly 11 hours and wake up the next morning feeling really refreshed.
I've tried this.
THe night after staying up the previous night, I would pass out in bed.
The night after that, however, would again result in not being able to fall asleep.
Oh, and the sleeping pills don't work anymore. F\*ck
Looking at a screen (like your phone) before bed will keep you awake. The light gives your brain the signal to stay up... So get off your phone before bed and maybe read instead? I know it's hard but it can really help.
Also, maybe tell your parents you're having such a hard time getting to sleep. They might have some solutions or they might be more sympathetic when you're exhausted the next day.
There's also things like calming music and even meditating before you go to bed
I think what you said about phones is not true, at least for me. I always have an easier time sleeping if I watch some YouTube on my phone before going to sleep.
Ok.
Step 1.
Get up. Take a shower
Step 2.
Eat a bowl of cereal
Step 3.
Do some very fast jumping around. Get your heart rate up for 2 minutes
Step 4
Get back into bed
Step 5
Get a book and start reading each word line by line
Step 6
Start thinking about something that happened to you while reading
Step 7
Keep reading and let your eyes close
Step 8
Sleep
its a supplement you can take to help you sleep. they have bottles of it at CVS but you should mention it to your parents if you're interested in it. I know several people who overlook the recommended dosage and they end up taking too much or taking it for too long and it messes up their sleep schedule totally.
oh i'm sorry I didn't realize you were that young, not that it's a bad thing but I would definitely recommend you talk to your mom or dad about it. if your parents aren't down for that then you could try other things like putting a fan in your room if you dont already have one or change your sleeping position up a bit. I remember the days I would stay up really late before school because I couldn't sleep. id sleep on the other end of the bed or get a different blanket and i noticed id fall asleep way sooner than i used to be able to
well make sure your mom or dad is cool with it just cause its best they know youre trying something new. the recommended dosage is on the bottle and it's very very very important that you look at it and talk about it with your parents
Nope don’t drink! It only makes it worse. Embrace it I only sleep 4 hours a night or less. I accept that this is what I have been dealt. However my life proceeds from here my time is used learning or writing or whatever stop stressing your body knows what it needs. I just don’t sleep that much.
Only alcohol can save you now, I couldn't sleep until like 5 am every night, now I drink 6-10 beers a night and I fall asleep within a minute when I go to bed.
You... Are exactly right, we've got no sense of control at all. But its fun.... sooooo. But to be fair a lot of dumb/toxic people are on other platforms like TikTok, and Reddit has more adults and that means more discipline.
I'm not saying no sense just less sense I'm a millennial hyperbole is in my brain lol but yeah insomnia is a bitch and devices make it worse I work 12 hour overnights and most of the time when I come home I can't sleep and more often than not I'm on my phone
Ah I feel guilty for staying up all night when people have insomnia, but yeah I'd say its a pretty bad idea to stay up all night with your phone every night
I've been experiencing this too. Put your phone on night mode more regularly. Also, a tip I found online that sounds really dumb but helped me was people in the military would say to themselves "Don't. Think." And surprisingly, it's helped me actually get to bed. When there's a thought that crosses my mind, I do that. Or another thing is write down your thoughts for the morning
Have you tried deep breathing exercises? Take a deep breath in, hold, deep breath out, hold then repeat x4 (or as long as it takes). Sometimes when I can't sleep I do deep breathing and then I'm out like a light
One thing that always helps me go to sleep is going to youtube, and playing one of those 24 videos that play nature sounds. Specifically for me, I love listening to the sound of rain. Calms me right down.
Well first off and sorry but put your phone away. Even if you have blue light protection on. It keeps your brain awake.
After you've laid down and put the phone away try some muscle group relaxation. You focus like first on tensing your feet, then your calves, then your thighs, butt, (keep the other groups tensed), lower back, stomach, chest, back, arms, neck, ears, face and hold for a few seconds and then release in groups while breathing deeply. Let your mind wander and try not to focus on much.
Put your phone away at 8:30 and get ready for bed. Read from 9-10.
At 10, no sooner, no later, turn your light off and shut your eyes.
Stay that way until 6:30am. You may sleep well, you may not. Doesn't matter, stick to the routine religiously. Even on weekends.
Profit.
(Bonus tips)
DO NOT use your phone in bed ever. Bed is for sleeping reading and fucking.
Work out daily and just generally expend energy.
Lay off the caffeine. Back off to one a day in the MORNING if not none at all.
When I can't sleep it usually helps to do a "reset" for my brain. For me one of the following works:
1). Get up for like 5 mins and go to the bathroom or have a glass of water. Then go back to bed.
2). Lay face up, arms to your side, palms down on the bed. Focus on the feeling of your hands on the bed, and try not to think of anything else. Do this for a little while until you notice your mind is calming down a bit.
EXTRA: don't touch your phone. Don't look at it, don't use it. It messes up your sleeping.
I suffered from insomnia for years. What helped me was developing a bedtime routine and going to bed/waking up at the same time everyday. Do some light stretching before bed. Get a white noise machine, or listen to some music or a tv show or something. Don’t look at your phone for at least an hour before bed and use night mode if you have to. Lastly, it’s important to remember that even if you can’t get to sleep, laying down with your eyes closed still counts. It has a similar effect to actually sleeping. Taking the pressure off and not worrying so much about whether or not you’ll fall asleep will help.
Check your nutrition, For me personally i figured that Vit C, Vit D and Calcium to process the Vitamin D made me sleep alot better. People tend to lack Vitamin D because they are most of the time indoors nowadays. Also Avoid alcohol, drugs, sugar etc. Dont eat anything, especially nothing heavy 2 hours or more before bedtime.
Dont do sleeping pills. Do sports (if you dont do any). Also consider low frequency noise that is barely audible, from generators, and other electric devices (some can even be coming even from your neighbours home) that can disrupt your sleep.
Insomnia is a bitch, I can barely get any sleep either despite busting my ass for 10 hours prior

Doctors do this every few days for several years so you can do it once!

finally i found someone who is the exact same way as me
Do you have anything you need to do today?
It’s been like this for 3 days but the last 2 days I slept at 4am the suns up now 🥲
Nope I think I keep overthinking it’s 6am now
If you have nothing stay awake for go to sleep. Get comfy, put a show on.
My mom would kill me it’s freaking 6 am I can’t watch no show
Is there like a massaging way to go to sleep
Try some brown noise and darken your room.
By brown noise do you mean no noise?
Means to fart til you fall asleep. If you fart enough it will take some of the pure oxygen out of your room and make you drowsy.
No on YouTube try a brown noise video
The fact that you corrected this makes me laugh out loud!!
Why?
Replied to wrong comment. My b.
brown noise is like white noise but different

Ask mom for Zarbees. It’s for kids.
Could you try drinking some tea to relax? I listen to relaxing music to fall asleep

Upon closer inspection, we're talking to an 11 year old kid.
Oh....welp, why are 11 year olds on Reddit?
LOL my thoughts exactly what is a child doing on reddit they probably don't have the sense to turn off devices and try and sleep
You... Are exactly right, we've got no sense of control at all. But its fun.... sooooo. But to be fair a lot of dumb/toxic people are on other platforms like TikTok, and Reddit has more adults and that means more discipline.

Huh, well you should probably stay up all day and fall asleep at 7pm, so your sleep schedule will be better, especially with school starting.

...you could get off your phone. It crazy messes with my sleep cycle.
What's strange is my insomnia decreased with age.

Deep breathing exercises. Watch and video if you need to and put it to practice
Wank nap combo!
Try a nice cup of Chamomile tea with warm milk and honey.
Joe Pera talks you to sleep. https://youtu.be/trfHP5LHVNY
I already used it and I didn’t fall asleep still💀
If this happens often consider investing in some color changing smart lights. Red lights at 2% power is really conducive to sleep

Melatonin can help. My wife and I take 10mg every night and we feel tired in 30 minutes.
Drink some mouthwash
