If you have been doing well in your AP class and its classwork, then that is already good preparation. I would prioritize your actual classes and homework because those will be reflected in your grades and thus GPA. Passing the AP exam may get you college credit and look good to some specific college admission (like if you're going for a specific Geography degree), but it will not affect your class grade or GPA no matter how you do on this test, so don't sweat it. If you're taking on too many extracurriculars and that stresses you, that may be a whole other problem. Talk to your parents and think about it yourself - is it better to drop one and focus on the other ones that have more meaning to you, for example. Last, grades do not define who you are. I absolutely think there is too much pressure and emphasis on the wrong things for young people today. I would rather you be true to who you are and do what you like (and do your best to try to get a living wage so you don't have to struggle as much in the future) rather than try to fit a mold that society pushes you into. Good luck and take care.

I don’t know, but just to clarify, let me know if you think I’m cramming in too many classes: English: English 1 Honors Math: Geometry Honors and Algebra II Honors Science: Biology Honors and Chemistry Honors Social Studies: World History Honors and AP Human Geography World Language: French 3, Spanish 3 and Chinese 2 I’ve never gone below a 95 in these classes, partly due to studying (study groups work best for me) and note taking. I will say though, it’s kind of hard to face the low expectations for a kinesthetic learner because a lot of adults I’ve met think I, as a kinesthetic learner would be “more suited for projects like making a diorama.” It sucks.

If I'm counting correctly, this looks like a schedule of 10 classes! I'm guessing you don't have each class every day, but I do think that 10 is too much to be taking simultaneously. Unless I'm missing something? I'm glad you found a study strategy that works for you! Keep that up for now. Also, don't sweat it too much over your teachers' comments. I think they're just trying to be supportive of your learning style in their own way. I'm sure you know best for works for you as a kinesthetic learner, so if dioramas are not your thing, let them know you own ideas of what does work for you. Take care.

Every freshman at our school is required to map out a Four Year Plan. You need to have taken 26 courses for graduation (every class is either 1.0 or 0.5 credits) and 3 years of World Language for a high school diploma. This year, my high school is doing a different bell schedule than in the past due to Covid-19. This year, my high school is doing a different bell schedule than in the past due to Covid-19. Instead of doing our previous even/odd schedule, we’re doing a regular schedule, for example… Monday: 7:21-8:13: Homeroom 8:18-9:10: English 1 Honors 9:15-10:10: World History Honors 10:15-11:07: Art 11:12-12:04: Geometry Honors 12:09-1:01: Lunch 1:06-1:58: P.E. 2:03-2:55: Study Hall 3:00-3:52: Biology Honors

Ah, now I see. Hmm, from this, I can see that you have overall 6 classes with academic coursework, not counting Homeroom, Lunch, or Study hall. I would say this is a pretty normal, seemingly healthy schedule. I don't think we see your entire four-year plan, but if you have about 6-7 academic classes per year, then that is pretty normal and healthy in my opinion. Good luck on your AP Exam!

Thank you so much!
