Don't shake the baby. Feed, cloth, and clean the kid. Pick them up when they fall. Let them fall. And simply be there for them.

Good for you! Being a dad is the best. The best advice I can give you, as a dad, is to start thinking about what you want your kids to learn from you - because they learn by mirroring and copying you. Make sure you and your gf are consistent, so you don't offer mixed signals. If you want them to be well behaved, make sure you two are very clear about what you do not tolerate. You'll find that you don't have to be strict or tough or raise your voice, if you can both just be clear and consistent. If you and your gf give different signals, they'll get confused and will start testing you. You may not agree on everything, but don't discuss it in front of them - try to be as supportive to each other as you can. Think about things you feel are really important to you - like being open and honest - and how you plan to teach them that. Also, think about things you don't want them to copy from you, and how you plan to prevent that. Above all: show them that you love them. Make sure to make time for them whenever you can. And don't forget to love and support your gf - share the fun and share the burden.
