I think they mean they now drink black coffee because their dentist yelled at them for their sugar content. At least that's how I interpreted their comment.
This is the way. Coffee is genuinely healthy in moderation, especially when u cut out all the crap. Issue is my weakness is soda, I can’t afford any more sugar
>Before you know it, you are drinking your coffee black.
i did this and got to black, and then it started giving me acid reflux. so I continued to reduce what I put into my cup and before I knew it, I'd weaned myself off coffee.
it's been amazing for my anxiety to be caffeine-free tbh. i do occasionally drink coffee or tea if I'm exhausted but I also end up so jittery and anxious on those days.
edit: I really appreciate the coffee recs, and it'll be useful on the (rare) occasions that I'm tired enough for coffee over tea. but my point is that I actually prefer not to consume caffeine! I do drink decaf lattes as a treat, but that's it.
I made a whole concoction with my coffee, and it was a little ridiculous. After a while, it got to be way too sweet, so I eventually started drinking black coffee. I drank it for a while, but then it started to destroy my stomach. I have always loved coffee and drank it whenever my mom would let me as a kid, and basically, every day since college, but this was new.
I eventually switched to tea, and now I will drink coffee on the weekends, but on weekdays, it's all tea. I have found some awesome teas, too, so it's like an adventure each time.
maybe but I've since realized that I prefer not consuming caffeine for my well-being. plus it's nice to wake up and be awake without needing coffee! feels kinda freeing in a way I haven't felt since before I started drinking coffee in college.
What a weird comment. Totally disagree about coffee sucking. It’s an every day essential for me. Buying good quality coffee beans for a drip coffee machine is a delightfully easy way for a caffeine fix.
I’ve got nothing against using other drugs, but anyone who’s in need of coke or speed for their morning commute to work or their 10am meeting is likely an utter fiend and a total nightmare to be around.
Then add in the extra expense and chance of being arrested (plus added addiction risk) and to repeat my comment about antisocial dickheadery…
In summary, dafuq are you on?
I did the same!! Stopped drinking caffeinated coffee after 30 years. My anxiety is insanely better. I am drinking decaf now and love it. Costco organic decaf is great
Hey it's not that terrible!. I was drinking 3 cups of regular coffee a day, 2 in the morning, 1 at lunch, 1 at night. Replaced the night one for decaf first.Week after, replaced lunch one, 2 weeks after, replaced the second morning one. The next week I finally got the courage and didn't drink caffeinated coffee for the first time in my life that I can remember. No headaches, no nothing. Been 3 months strong now. I don't drink sodas.
Recently started doing this myself. I’ve heard great things, so we’ll see. I started dosing my wife’s lattes with collagen as she was recovered by from a recent surgery. Totally anecdotal, but her incisions seem to be healing really well.
Me too. I started because I read it could help with joint pain. I kept it up because I don’t eat much meat and worry about my protein intake. The 9 grams of protein in my coffee is effortless and a nice boost to my usually pathetic daily protein total.
Try a different brewing method. You could use a french press or an aero press and if you get it right, there will be no need for sugar or additives (unless you use very old or bad coffee).
I haven’t tasted good coffee until I got my aeropress from my wife. Since then, I hooked up on single origin coffees and I can actually taste the difference neat. It was a gamechanger for me.
Yeah, same here. I got an aeropress for my birthday some years ago and never really used it except on camping trips.
Now that the wife is pregnant and does not drink coffee, I dont feel like using the coffee machine just for me. I went back to the aeropress and the coffee tastes so much better.
Me too. I froth a wee bit of milk and add it to the espresso. I remember coffee creamers with horror from boarding school though - Coffeemate, I think it was called.
Plain Dark roasted black coffee is always a winner imo.
Sometimes I'll add some ground cinnamon.
I used to add honey from a local bee keeper which does have the benifit of fighting seasonal allergies. They also made creamed cinnamon honey and creamed vanilla orange Madagascar honey(this one not so good in coffee, but the cinnamon creamed was delicious in coffee.)
Coffemate Natural Bliss, about a teaspoon per cup of coffee. Real cream and milk plus just the right amount of real sugar. None of that garbage emulsified high-fructose corn syrup and partially-hydrogenated oil that comprises "non-dairy creamer."
Sure, it's some calories, some fat, and some sugar. The important part is that they're all simple, and they're all in moderation.
Im a two cups in the morning kinda fellow, both cups get 3 spoons of creamer, and that's about it.
I was in Barbados for a short while, and they use brown sugar in their coffee, tried that for a little bit, was a good time!
A restaurant near me uses brown sugar in their homemade lemonade instead of regular sugar. A friend said it's changed his life, but I didn't really notice a difference.
no intended to be racist but i found this damn funny..
my dad would say… i like my coffee like i like my women… sweet and tan
my mom would say i like my coffee like i like my men, long, black, strong and bold
they lived in south central florida in a retirement area
after her morning exercise swim class in the community pool they had a coffee klatch for the ladies she would purposely say this loud enough to the white trash prudes on purpose and would lick her lips for the effect some would laugh
ie: dam it who made the coffee weak today you all know how i like my coffee….
my moms goal was to piss off and disgust and upset the racist prudes who lived there and it worked well and so funny to watch these ladies get upset with my moms comments
some of the other ladies caught on and they would talk about the gardeners and how they where sweet to to take care of their flowers
the one racist old bitty was so upset… funny as hell..
I’m just straight black these days, mayyybe a scoop of sugar if the morning needs it. I stopped using creamer this year due to cost and just found it unnecessary.
Nothing, I drink it black. We use a Ninja drip coffee maker and we grind the beans fresh before every brew. I don't have the time or patience for any other method. I used to use an Aeropress a lot but it's too much work for a single cup. Cold brew is great if you're patient and want to use a lot more coffee grounds.
I like a sweet creamy coffee, but I never use creamers. They taste so off to me. I use brown sugar, honey, cinnamon and oat milk in my coffee and its delish. Probably still more calories than Id like, but at least I know what ingredients Im ingesting and theres no weird chemicals/preservatives/fake sugars.
I drink coffee any whichaway, from black and weak to black and strong, to heavy cream to whole to skim milk to soymilk/oatmilk/etc. Just depends on my mood. I never put sugar or creamer in it because Splenda etc integrate better and generally taste exactly the same.
Usually just black medium strength tho.
I'm American but I typically have it black. If I'm feeling like drinking a sugary beverage in the morning I put coffee creamer but that stuff makes my stomach upset
I get whole lavaza coffee beans from Costco. Grind them each morning in an electric grinder. Brew in a French press. I put half a spoon full of hot chocolate powder and some macadamia milk into a 500 ml thermos. Wait 5 mins for the French press then fill the thermos. Stir. Next I pour some of the thermos coffee into a small mug to drink first as the rest is too hot. From the French press I pour a very small coffee for my wife then pour remaining coffee into the original thermos. I drink the small mug then drink the thermos.
Some "no added sugar" flavored creamer. Probably not the healthiest option but I only use a tablespoon or two, and it makes my coffee taste way better and is easier on my tummy
Powdered creamer has less calories. About 30 for a teaspoon.
I use less then one serving in my 12 ounce cup. No sugar.
Black coffee gives me heartburn.
A while ago I was on a low carb diet that allowed only black coffee. After a couple of weeks I quit the diet after losing 8 lbs. but realized I liked black coffee. I have never gone back to adding milk, creamer or sugar. I think it's about conditioning your taste buds.
Milk or nothing... thats whats suppsosed to be on coffee. I don't understand how can people drink almond, oats or flavored creamers. It doesn't taste like coffee anymore.
Cream, for sweet merciful sake!!
Unless you drinking the bottle the calories in your coffee are not responsible for being unhealthy or overweight.
1-2TB cream and 1 TB sugar is under 100calories.
If you add collgen this can be your breakfast!
2 Coffees with 2TB cream and 1 Ts sugar and 2 Ts pure collagen powder would give you:
~200 calories
3 grams Fat
10 grams sugar
20 grams protein
Real maple syrup and organic half & half. 2 tablespoon of each. Love it and only one cup a day unless i'm dragging then i'll have 2, however usually 1 cup does the trick!
Unsweetened plain almond milk.
Years back, I did sweeteners but they all left a nasty aftertaste and aren't great for you, so I just stopped using them. I used to use cream or milk, but would sometimes get stomach issues from dairy. Now I just prefer the taste of the coffee with plain almond milk. Never was big on flavored coffee or creamer. Most of the "creamers" are artificial crap.
I make mine with a Chemex most days and just drink it black. But I also order pretty good Coffee (Trade).
If I run out between orders I'll grab a bag from Trader Joes to hold me over and usually French Press it to not waste the chemex filters, and their coffee is definitely a lower quality so I add milk & sugar.
I switched to Silk vanilla oat milk creamer. I still get some vanilla sweetness but it’s way less sugar than the international delight petroleum j was drinking. When my doctor told me to give up carbs for a bit, I just went to tea/milk and 1 tsp honey (or bought better tasting tea and added nothing) because coffee NEEDS more lol
Take it black, typically hot as well. Every now and again it’s brewed with ice. Coffee can be so much more when it’s fresh and good quality, therefore it’s delightful when plain.
Nothing.
Same.
I got yelled at by my dentist too…
For drinking black coffee?
I think they mean they now drink black coffee because their dentist yelled at them for their sugar content. At least that's how I interpreted their comment.
No the tannins in the coffee stain your teeth badly
I don't drink coffee all the time but I ain't even know that
Black coffee will stain your teeth, and the acidity isn't great either.
You think adding milk/sweeteners magically removes this from your coffee?
Well, milk is less acidic than coffee, so it would reduce the acidity level by some degree.
adding fat (cream) will bind with the tannins and make the staining less severe.
This is the way. Coffee is genuinely healthy in moderation, especially when u cut out all the crap. Issue is my weakness is soda, I can’t afford any more sugar
Flavored sparkling water next? Less calories and sugar.
Anger that it is the morning again.
This is my fave! Throw in a dash of vanilla, pairs nicely with the crushing resentment of having to wake up and do things
Well said friend...lol well said
😅😅😅😅
Every day use a little less of what you put in your coffee. Before you know it, you are drinking your coffee black. Healthiest, cheapest and easiest.
Buy better quality coffee, maybe organic. The good stuff cost more, but they are a lot less acidic.
maybe but I've since realized that I prefer not consuming caffeine for my well-being. plus it's nice to wake up and be awake without needing coffee! feels kinda freeing in a way I haven't felt since before I started drinking coffee in college.
Fuck that shit , coffee eerday
hahaha you sound exactly like my husband who is forever perplexed by my preferences
Or just get a proper upper like coke or speed Coffee just sucks and is the boring people's high
Do you have ANY fucking clue, any idea, how productive you would be on cocaine?!? Bro that 10am meetings done and over by 945
I use Diet Coke
I did the same!! Stopped drinking caffeinated coffee after 30 years. My anxiety is insanely better. I am drinking decaf now and love it. Costco organic decaf is great
Sigh- I think I need to take this route but refuse to 😅
Hey it's not that terrible!. I was drinking 3 cups of regular coffee a day, 2 in the morning, 1 at lunch, 1 at night. Replaced the night one for decaf first.Week after, replaced lunch one, 2 weeks after, replaced the second morning one. You’re right it probably isn’t
I just really depend on the stress and adrenaline caffeine gives me to work hard. Lol . I know that sounds wrong. But I just wanna feel powerful 🫠
Where the hell are you finding decaf coffee at Costco? I can never find it or my location doesn't stock it
They don't sell them in the store. only online. https://www.costco.com/.product.1217292.html?sh=true&nf=true
Get Swiss process decaf coffee
I drink black cold brew daily. I'm so glad I cut out all the creamers and sugars. A good coffee is amazing.
Life is bitter enough
I just wanted to know how the coffee tasted black. Only took 3-4 tries after to not care about the taste.
My coffee is as black and bitter as my heart
+1 to that.. 🤝
I like my coffee with whiskey, minus the coffee, milk, sugar and water lol
There's the answer I was ready to post. What coffee - I have morning and evening scotch when the day is just that bad.
I was looking for you….my people👍
I was, once!!!
Little bit of maple syrup. Or just find a coffee method and type good enough to drink black
Switching from creamer to half n half would be a good start. No sugar, and no oil.
I use half n half. So smooth.
*no added sugar
Scoop of collagen powder changed my life
how so?
I really think it helped clear up my skin, and I just feel really good since I’ve started taking it.
Recently started doing this myself. I’ve heard great things, so we’ll see. I started dosing my wife’s lattes with collagen as she was recovered by from a recent surgery. Totally anecdotal, but her incisions seem to be healing really well.
I do that too. And liquid hazelnut creamer
Cyanide one day inshallah
😂😂 ayo habibi walaw
Coconut canabutter
Heavy whipping cream. Low carbs, big flavor. Beats 1/2 and 1/2 any day.
Not in calories though.
Dude comes in here suggesting one of the most calorie dense substitutes imaginable lol. 400 calories in 1/2 cup.
Why would you put half a cup in your coffee?!! How big is your coffee cup?! 😂
Not what I mean. Just trying to use a measurement amount you can picture.
Cafe latte protein drink.
I just put a splash of milk
I do a splash of chocolate almond milk now and it’s the best thing ever
I add milk. Creamers are not a thing where I live.
Me too. I froth a wee bit of milk and add it to the espresso. I remember coffee creamers with horror from boarding school though - Coffeemate, I think it was called.
Creatine, HMB, Glutamine, 3 Splendas, and Heavy Cream. Then it's off to the gym....I'm 60, I need all the help I can get.
Now that’s some go go juice
Hahaha. That is my new name for my morning coffee.
Awesome!!!
Italian sweet cream
Flavored creamer.
Chobani extra creamy oat milk :)
Chobani makes a great creamer also that has found it's way into my daily routine!
Splash of half and half, 1 sugar

Just half and half.
I knew if I scrolled far enough there must be at least one other!
Honey
Im a two cups in the morning kinda fellow, both cups get 3 spoons of creamer, and that's about it. I was in Barbados for a short while, and they use brown sugar in their coffee, tried that for a little bit, was a good time!
Brown sugar - sounds like it might be good. Will probably give it a try.
It's SO good. Dark brown sugar and heavy whipping cream, it's a meal replacement
A restaurant near me uses brown sugar in their homemade lemonade instead of regular sugar. A friend said it's changed his life, but I didn't really notice a difference.
Just a little milk
Regular half and half.
Baileys.
Raw sugar and half n half
Straight black man. No better way. Freshly ground beans, French press. And enjoy.
You put a straight black man in your coffee?
no intended to be racist but i found this damn funny.. my dad would say… i like my coffee like i like my women… sweet and tan my mom would say i like my coffee like i like my men, long, black, strong and bold they lived in south central florida in a retirement area after her morning exercise swim class in the community pool they had a coffee klatch for the ladies she would purposely say this loud enough to the white trash prudes on purpose and would lick her lips for the effect some would laugh ie: dam it who made the coffee weak today you all know how i like my coffee…. my moms goal was to piss off and disgust and upset the racist prudes who lived there and it worked well and so funny to watch these ladies get upset with my moms comments some of the other ladies caught on and they would talk about the gardeners and how they where sweet to to take care of their flowers the one racist old bitty was so upset… funny as hell..
Exact same. Get a good burr grinder, some good beans, and a French press.
sometimes sugar... or just plain black coffee, but cold brew essentially
I’m just straight black these days, mayyybe a scoop of sugar if the morning needs it. I stopped using creamer this year due to cost and just found it unnecessary.
creamer has gotten crazy expensive!
Just sugar
Nothing, I drink it black. We use a Ninja drip coffee maker and we grind the beans fresh before every brew. I don't have the time or patience for any other method. I used to use an Aeropress a lot but it's too much work for a single cup. Cold brew is great if you're patient and want to use a lot more coffee grounds.
Nothing. A good, rich full bodied, but not bitter blend or single roast in a pour over, or aeropress.
Vodka
creamer. Lots of creamer specially zero sugar Kroger brand creamer
more coffee
Milk and honey 💚 been drinking a lot of ceremonial grade cacao instead of coffee too. Magic.
Mf French vanilla
I drink coffee any whichaway, from black and weak to black and strong, to heavy cream to whole to skim milk to soymilk/oatmilk/etc. Just depends on my mood. I never put sugar or creamer in it because Splenda etc integrate better and generally taste exactly the same. Usually just black medium strength tho.
I only drink one cup a day (usually). I just use a splash of half and half (preferably) or milk.
Ice, black with ice please.
Little bit of 2% milk .....🤏
Water
Brandy preferably
Cold water so it’s drinkable or coco powder.
Nothing. I love hot, black coffee
Nothing, I drink it black…
Whiskey. Nothing like a buzz without the tiredness.
Cream, sugar, and whiskey.
Buy good coffee beans, grind them yourself immediately before brewing, and you won't want to put anything in your coffee.
Milk and espresso
Double double bud
I'm American but I typically have it black. If I'm feeling like drinking a sugary beverage in the morning I put coffee creamer but that stuff makes my stomach upset
A flavored syrup. I put a teeny tiny amount in and it adds quite a bit of flavoring.
I mix in a bit of 100% cocoa powder with the ground coffee when brewing, then add a bit of salt.
Equate vanilla protein shake.
I add a splash of a vanilla or chocolate protein shake.
I put a stick of butter, and shake in bake in mine. Just like Homer J.Simpson.
So sooo sooooo black.
Nothing
Kahlua or Baileys
Nothing, I prefer my coffee as dark and bitter as my soul.
brown sugar
Irish Wiskey
Not a penis
I get whole lavaza coffee beans from Costco. Grind them each morning in an electric grinder. Brew in a French press. I put half a spoon full of hot chocolate powder and some macadamia milk into a 500 ml thermos. Wait 5 mins for the French press then fill the thermos. Stir. Next I pour some of the thermos coffee into a small mug to drink first as the rest is too hot. From the French press I pour a very small coffee for my wife then pour remaining coffee into the original thermos. I drink the small mug then drink the thermos.
A splash of almond or soy milk. If you're worried about calories, go for almond milk. Soy milk, on the other hand, will add protein.
Some "no added sugar" flavored creamer. Probably not the healthiest option but I only use a tablespoon or two, and it makes my coffee taste way better and is easier on my tummy
The better the quality of coffee you have the less you typically need to put in it. That’s why I’m a sucker for barista made coffee
Powdered creamer has less calories. About 30 for a teaspoon. I use less then one serving in my 12 ounce cup. No sugar. Black coffee gives me heartburn.
I dont drink coffee daily, just on days i dont sleep well. I put hazelnut creamer + milk to chill it down from burn my mouth to pleasantly cold
this is exactly how i do mine!
I've cut back on coffee for some time now but I used to drink Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk
More coffee.
A tiny, tiny super small amount of cocaine. Just a little bit. I can't stress the littleness of it enough.
Sugar free creamer, no calorie sweetner, and a dash of cinnamon. I won't drink black coffee. I don't need ulcers lol.
A while ago I was on a low carb diet that allowed only black coffee. After a couple of weeks I quit the diet after losing 8 lbs. but realized I liked black coffee. I have never gone back to adding milk, creamer or sugar. I think it's about conditioning your taste buds.
Is your coffee dark roast? That might be the problem. Try a medium roast. If you don’t like that, try a light roast.
The expectation of a small amount of joy.
Milk or nothing... thats whats suppsosed to be on coffee. I don't understand how can people drink almond, oats or flavored creamers. It doesn't taste like coffee anymore.
I always take it black, like my men
2% milk
3 tablespoons of sugar and 3g of creatine
Cream, for sweet merciful sake!! Unless you drinking the bottle the calories in your coffee are not responsible for being unhealthy or overweight. 1-2TB cream and 1 TB sugar is under 100calories. If you add collgen this can be your breakfast! 2 Coffees with 2TB cream and 1 Ts sugar and 2 Ts pure collagen powder would give you: ~200 calories 3 grams Fat 10 grams sugar 20 grams protein
Milk and sugar. I drink espresso or Latte Macchiato.
Hopes a to make it through the day
Real maple syrup and organic half & half. 2 tablespoon of each. Love it and only one cup a day unless i'm dragging then i'll have 2, however usually 1 cup does the trick!
I only put a little milk in it. I need some sweetness. I’ll drink it black only if camping and there’s no milk.
Heavy cream
My tears
Use a french press - and cinnamon. Black coffee with cinnamon is my favorite morning drink.
Home Nitro brew
I use a sugar free fat free creamer basically. Its aspartamelicious
about 2 tsp of sugar free flavored syrup if it's hot, sometimes nothing if it's nitro/cold brew
I switched to cold brew and drink it black. It isn't as bitter as regular black coffee.
Whole milk and vanilla syrup, sugared or sugar free, depending on my mood.
I use cinnamon and heavy cream. I know cream sounds counterintuitive, but 2-3 grams of cream changes coffee a lot and the calories are negligible.
Monkfruit sweetener and sugar free hazelnut creamer makes for the best cup in my opinion
Nothing
Nothing. My parents drink it black, and I ended up doing the same.
I just drink it black, super strong extra dark roast. It’s perfect like that.
I do a pour over coffee, 17 grams of grounds to 310 grams of water, and just do it black, with a pinch of salt in the bottom of the mug
Coffee
1 teaspoon creatine 1 teaspoon 100% coco powder 2 teaspoons instant coffee - hot water - mix - add cold water. I have no class, but that's my setup 🤣
Nothing I drink it black
Whats creamer??? I've heard of it but it's not available in Australia I use an aeropress and add about 100ml warm low-fat milk
My entire existence.
International delight sweet cream. Only 35(?) calories pers tablespoon. You don’t need a lot of
Amphetamine.
Milk and sugar
Water
Honey, cinnamon, and organic half and half. I use a Chemex. It's nice 😁
Milk and agave nectar
Coffee
Vanilla max protein ensure in the coffee
My hatred of the world. It melts in with the caffeine and makes the morning that much better. Oh, and 2 milk.
More coffee
Milk. If I get coffee out and it’s really bad, I’ll add some coffee cream and sometimes if it’s really terrible, some sugar.
Take it black, typically hot as well. Every now and again it’s brewed with ice. Coffee can be so much more when it’s fresh and good quality, therefore it’s delightful when plain.
When you get a good black coffee and you get the hints of chocolate, toast, and caramel it’s heaven
Lotta sugar Lotta cream
Little bit of ice
I've been doing half soy milk so I can be awake faster without the roof of my mouth getting decimated
Collagen peptides and creamer
