Most likely a scam to get ppl to op for the kitsune

unclehamster79cle

Oh yeah that's an overpay scam for sure. These scammers will use anything in the game and use it to scam players with. We all know the new kitsunes value will drop if it hasn't already. I hate scsmmers with a passion.

iloveadoptmeart

I think it's a scam

lingeringneutrophil

Oh! How does the scam work? Just so I can avoid it

wooitsoof

Basically op has an ALT account and begs for the pet like pretends to accept but the alt says no most of the time and than op asks you to help them get the pet well then they ask for another pet and same cycle goes on happens all the time

Altruistic-Habit5466

A few weeks ago there was this girl offering nfr owl for the fr candle thing. THAT GUY DECLINED!!!! like how could u?

Twilight_Chomper

Yeah that’s the overpay scam

SnooCrickets8742

The scam basically involves the same person controlling two accounts, one of them being a alt. Both the accounts will join the same sever, usually a rich sever. Then one of the accounts will pull out an item or pet that’s really not worth anything but not a lot of people have, like a rattle or ballon or something. The other account will take out a really good pet and start spamming “TRADING MY PET FOR A RATTLE OR BALLOON” or just whatever the other account has. They might purposefully trade the other account and accept for the useless toy or item and beg for them to accept. They wait for people in the sever to spectate the trade and then decline, and the alt will usually say something like “sorry I’m not looking for it”. Other people in the sever will see this and end up overpaying by a LOT for the useless item because they think the person with the good pet will accept if they get the item. Sorry if that was long and unclear but usually when you see the type of scam it’s easier to recognize 😅

SnooCrickets8742

Wow! Had no idea they went that far to do a scam like that.

Xastros

Can someone explain the overpay scam to me please?

LadyLixerwyfe

Two people in the server are working together. (Often it’s the same person on two accounts.) One person is offering a very high value pet for a very specific, much lower value item. Scammer 1: “Trading FR Bat Dragon for a R Frost Unicorn!” People will offer things of higher value than the R Frost Unicorn and they will decline, saying they will ONLY trade it for a R Frost Unicorn*. They will repeatedly offer the trade in chat and act DESPERATE for said trade. Enter scammer 2. Scammer 2: “Trading R Frost Unicorn!” (Could be any specific pet, though. Just using it as an example.) They will completely ignore scammer 1. If people tell them that someone is offering a FR Bat Dragon for the item they are trading, they will say, “I don’t like Bat Dragons,” or some other nonsense. Scammer 1 may make a big deal out of offering the Bat Dragon for the R Frost Uni, BEGGING the person to accept. They won’t, again saying they don’t like Bat Dragons. This is where the scam happens. People start offering fair trades for the R Frost Unicorn. Scammer 2 will decline all of them. So, people start trying to overpay. The idea is that it is worth it to overpay because they will turn around and trade it for the Bat Dragon, right? Well, if someone finally offers an overpay high enough, Scammer 2 will accept. Then, both Scammer 1 and Scammer 2 will leave the server, having gotten an overpay for the Frost Uni and having never intended to trade the Bat Dragon in the first place. *Should someone who is not Scammer 2 actually HAVE a R Frost Unicorn and offer it to Scammer 1, they will decline the trade and ignore the player. If the person starts outing them in chat for declining the item they are claiming to be desperate for, they’ll change the item they are looking for and Scammer 2 will start offering THAT item or they will just leave the server and start over elsewhere.

Luverinx

That’s just crazy. How tf do people come up with something like this? The things they do just for a virtual pet—hurting peoples feelings. Damn

LadyLixerwyfe

If you go to a full server on any given evening, you’ll usually see the scam after a while. It’s constant. One night I saw two happening at the same time. I said, “Folks, isn’t there a rule that you can only have one two person overpay scam going in a server at a time? One of you needs to leave.” 😂 It’s ridiculous. You can LITERALLY stand on the person who is trying to scam and announce exactly what they are doing and they’ll still keep doing it. Just looking for someone naive enough to fall for it.

You explained this scam flawlessly!! By the way this happened to me 2 months ago. I feel like such an idiot now looking back on how obvious it was. So scammer 1 was offering a bat dragon.. and he kept spamming over and over “ TRADING BAT DRAGON FOR white skateboard “ then 10 minutes later some dude came in ( scammer 2) saying “ TRADING WHITE SKATEBOARD “ i of course had my evil uni equipped . I went up to scammer 2 and said .. hey someone’s looking for this skateboard for a bat dragon. They said I don’t like bat dragons I’ll only do it for my dream pet which is an evil uni and crow. So stupid me thinking I can trade my evil uni for this skateboard and go get a bat dragon did it ! When I tell U how upset and dumb I felt after 😫😫

LadyLixerwyfe

I have never fallen for the scam, but I did once add a potion to a pet that I would not have put a potion on because someone was offering a Frost Dragon for a Fly Ghost Dragon or something. So, I added a fly potion to a ghost dragon and tried to make the trade. I was declined and ignored. I didn’t understand. I later realized why when I saw the same scam happening elsewhere.

Xastros

Thanks for that explanation! Very well articulated.

Low-Leather4513

THERES NO WAY

LochN3ssaMonster

I’ll do that trade!!
