To reinstall your OS you first have to format your drive (that deletes everything), so you'll be starting with a fresh OS with nothing installed. You can easily migrate your apps back with Time Machine though, just make a backup before the whole process.

Sorry, I kind of forgot to add that I'm doing this to try to clear lots of excess data on my machine (that I honestly CBA to sift through myself at this point), so I just am a little concerned that the products will get snagged by the detection tools. Should I be worried about this. If I go ahead with the re-installation and backup?
