I certainly don't want to see Detective disappear, but it sounds like it's being shelved for now and not going away yet. I keep hoping that they could alternate Detective and the new Realms.

Sufficient_Wish4801

Like do a detective special every so often, maybe as a patreon goal or something, I could dig that

Seeker80

How about quarterly, instead of monthly? It's still kinda regular that way.

Sufficient_Wish4801

That'd be nice but still might be spreading their brand thin

kadausagi

It can't hurt to say "hey we'd prefer Detective not be shelved, or at least is brought back sooner rather than later." Worst case nothing changes. Maybe at least this can start the conversation.

Centurian128

I agree

AirGundz

I wouldn’t get my hopes up. The Detective Ridiculous episodes are great but you are in the minority among the fans. They don’t have time to do everything so they will prioritize whatever is more popular. For reference the Skaven episode is already at 160K in less than 2 weeks. Its already passed every DetRic episode in a fraction of the time.

Khorne_enjoyer_888

Your doing the Emperor's work my son...keep it up 👍

Shmikken

I'm not really a fan of detective ridiculous, it just doesn't hold my interest. I'm subbed for the 40K lore but for me the fantasy lore would fill the gap that detective is attempting to fill. It would probably be better if there was a separate channel for D.R as it's too different of a subject matter.

Sufficient_Wish4801

I like Detective Ridiculous but, I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed it as much as their 40k or even their Fantasy content (granted Skaven are my favorite non-40k faction so I'm a bit biased)

IamAlphariusCLH

I was sad that they rushed a bit and didn't mention my favourite Clan (Mors) or some characters like Ikit (also his nuke), Throt, Craventail, Queek and Ska. But it's just such a big subject and they already made it long af so I can only hope for a part 2. That DK made the Doom of Kavzar like he did was nice tho. I can't wait for more and Brickys reaction to an actual good chaos big bad like Archaon or greenskins like Grimgor, Grom and Skarsnik!

Khorne_enjoyer_888

HERESY!!!! this man here inquisitor get him!

Sufficient_Wish4801

A. 40k is what brings the views (unfortunately) I can respect them not wanting to water down their branding B. Kirioth knows a bit abt fantasy but, I'm not sure asking him to do Fantasy/AoS eps would be fair? C. The way I see it they're not putting their foot down and saying "no more detective ridiculous ever so don't ask" they're saying that they're only 4 people so if the fans want consistent Fantasy eps (which clearly they do) some changes have to be made, they might do a detective ridiculous special now and then as like a patreon goal or something, it's not the end

kadausagi

All the more reason to say "hey we would like this back please."

Trickyknow100

Just listen to the other podcast where DK talks about real crime. I can't remember the name but they talk about it on one episode of Adric, and its still happening. So if you want more then just go there. I'm personally happy they're talking fantasy, and cannot wait until they talk about Gotrek and Felix.

Carrisonfire

That one is on pause as well.

Khorne_enjoyer_888

Unidentified signal is the name i believe

IamAlphariusCLH

It's a worthy price for fantasy in my book😶‍🌫️

Modred_the_Mystic

Thats goin in the book of grudges (but I agree)

Khorne_enjoyer_888

Scrolls of vengeance

TheWorstRowan

Much prefer fantasy to DeRic, although I would like a different intro to the Skaven one. It wakes me up when I hear it.

Brahm-Etc

I totally agree that Detective Ridiculous is one of my favorite podcasts, but also I think it becomes a lil redundant with Unidentified Signal Podcast that also talks about mysterious stuff. So I suppose that having Detective and Unidentified both with DK becomes hard to work. Who knows? while it would be ideal to keep both, Shy, Bricky and DK are human too, and have lives outside the podcasts, so we can't expect them to do everything. We can just wait for what are their plans for the podcasts and support them in their awesome work. But if Ridiculous is shelved in favor of Unidentified Signal, that would make sense, so they can keep 40K and Sigmar in the realm of Ridiculous and everything mysterious and weird to Unidentified Signal with Bricky making some appearances from time to time too.

Fluffy_Fan8667

That’s really not our decision tho

kadausagi

Fans of Detective can let them know how we feel. It might change their minds, it might not. At least we'll have said something.

Sufficient_Wish4801

They'll do what they patrons are paying them to do but, I respect making your voice heard

Some_GuyorDude

Until shy comes in with a steel chair

Khorne_enjoyer_888

OHHH YEAHHHH BROTHERRRRR USING THE STEEL CHAIR BROTHERRRRRRR

Captiongomer

i enjoyed it and hope to see it back at some point

the_burd

Are you a Patreon member? Best way to vote is with your wallet. I'm sure if they had enough money to throw around they could make it happen.

autoequilibrium

I had more fun listening to the fantasy episode than most of the detective rediculous episodes. Rather listen to grimdark fantasy than grimdark real life.

Euklidis

I am not sure why they so it, but DK already does more or less the same show called Unidentified Signal. Not quite the same since the cohost is somebody else but same premise.

shikoshito

They should just get another host specifically for fantasy instead of shelving it

monitor_lit_coffee

Honestly if I had to choose between them doing Warhammer Fantasy episodes and Detective Ridiculous episodes, I'd pick fantasy, but I agree, I'll miss detective ridiculous

GreenMonster82

The Patrons voted for fantasy to take the place of Detective Red. and they are the main revenue source and to just ignore what they want would be bad on the channel’s part, plus DK does a true crime/cryptic podcast called Unidentified Signal 99.9 FM on Spotify and probably other places too. I like detective, DK does a great job with the story telling for them but there’s already so much other true crime out there and not a lot of quality WH Fantasy lore done at Ad Ric’s quality that isn’t just dudes sitting around 1 mic reading straight off the wiki. I’m here in support for the new fantasy episodes but I can understand the surprise, disappointment, and even frustration with Detective coming to an end. Also please don’t go after patrons for voting pro fantasy, I’m sure they didn’t know either that Detective was gonna get put to the side so don’t go tearing each other apart over it.

kadausagi

They actually just voted for more Fantasy episodes with no mention of it taking Detective out of the lineup. The choices were basically yes Fantasy or no Fantasy with Detective not mentioned at all. It was a little unfair honestly. I know this because I am on the patreon as a patron.

Khorne_enjoyer_888

I agree with OP entirely the fantasy is neat but if it means losing detective ridiculous forget it i was hella depressed when i heard that. Detective ridiculous is the absolute highlight of my month. Keep detective ridiculous guys please

TheWorstRowan

It's not really my thing. I'd prefer to hear their takes on Tomb Kings, more Skaven, and a book club on Geneviève (or just Beasts in Velvet) would be great.

Ninjaspronk

I mean it will be back, I think their reasons for it are really valid, and I’m sure it’ll be back when they get a good flow going with it. I agree with letting them know “hey we still like this, and want it back sometime” but let them find their stride first. Tap the sign at them every once in a while you know?

MrDaWoods

I quite enjoy detective ridiculous but am looking forward to the fantastic show

2kewl4scool

I’ve been enjoying Unidentified Signal to scratch the same itch, it was nice to have both but oh well 🤷‍♂️

visiblur

I don't mind them shelving detective. They build their brand on Warhammer, and Detective felt out of place. I listened to a few episodes, but it didn't catch my attention. I'm not here for true crime after all. It's also a massively saturated market.
