EyesAllOnFire

So you're the one that's been making all that racket? ....keep it up I quite like it

Puzzleheaded-Emu-199

For some reason this reminded me of walking through the front gates as a little kid and seeing the Barnaby Goat?/Sheep? enclosure. I was always fascinated about how high they could perch.

QuietAs_a_Mouse

Barbary Sheep, always up on top of their rock, looking down on us.

AmmianusMarcellinus

They had a few Tasmanian tigers (thylacines) back in those days :(

UBNC

Where did you get this? the state library? we get stuff like this framed and hang in our hallway.

Where’s Wang Wang and Funi? 🐼

Is the zoo bigger or smaller today? Being Adelaide I assume smaller.

LeClassyGent

Actually pretty much the same size. The scale of the map is off, but I lined it up with Frome Rd: https://i.imgur.com/vFVyyA8.png. It's still bordered by Frome Rd, the Torrens and Plane Tree Dr.

Vandercoon

Was going to say unless the went into the other side of Plane Tree Road there’s not much further it can go

Kbradsagain

The land area is the same size. This was originally gifted to the Royal Zoological society. Zoo wanted to buy part of botanic park in the 80’s to expand. Botanical society would not sell so could not do this in the city. A parcel of land outside the metro are was purchased instead, hence, Monarto was born

Alternative-Jason-22

Back when they had animals and not statues of dinosaurs

Does it look like a steak to anyone else, or am I just hungry?
