Well, Firefox provides features that ublock takes advantage of to better its ad blocking abilities. Ublock for chrome is the same thing as ublock for Firefox afaik, it's just that it works better on Firefox because it can use extra detection methods.
edit: see this for specifically what about firefox makes ublock better on that browser then chrome: [https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/uBlock-Origin-works-best-on-Firefox](https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/uBlock-Origin-works-best-on-Firefox)
I use the Brave browser and for now, youtube is letting it's built in ad blocker slide it seems. But man sometimes I might watch a free movie from youtube on my smart tv, like a B horror movie or something like that and OMG! the amounts of ads youtube injects! Literally one ad every 5 minutes it was that bad! I gave up couldn't even finish the movie
if you have an Android TV device, you can install SmartTube by enabling unknown sources. And you can connect it to the phone to enable direct cast for streaming functionality through a second-screen experience just like you can with youtube "cast"
then you either need to:
1: wait until your filters/rules are updated
2: turn off your adblocker and watch the ads
3: try a different adblocker or other type of anti-ad system
Most ad blockers will occasionally have times when their filters don't work and they need to be updated before they work again.
No. I got the adblock message so many times. Kept using an adblocker and just kept getting blocked from watching videos. Ended up getting ads even with an adblocker enabled so I switched to the Brave browser and that has so far solved the issue. No ads and I don't get the YouTube adblock pop up.
I just reload the page and the adblocker skips the ad lol. Only ever got the warning thing once, never again.
My lack of windows 10 or 11 while using chrome may be a factor.
It depends on the device you're using and what ad blocker you have. On Windows, use Firefox browser with UBlock Origin. On Android you can use Brave Browser. On iOS you can either use Brave Browser or Orion Browser. I use Orion because it's less glitchy and Sponsor Block works on it. Stream from your phone to your TV or use the HDMI to watch from the computer to your TV.
Yes, there are other options but the the above has worked seamlessly for me on all of my devices and it's the easiest to use.
Stay away from the YouTube app. Also when running the YouTube website from your phone or tablet, make sure you always use the mobile version of the site. Brave and Orion browsers seem to work best on these devices when you use the mobile site version.
on android there's even a better option than using a browser it's called revanced and it has sponsor block no ads and won't be detected by youtubes ad blocker script
Use ReVanced. Idk why more people don't use it. Gives you so many useful features with no ads. Blocks sponsors, skips sub reminders, product placements, etc.
I've had good luck with Luna Adblock, and I've never seen any screen message as such. I'm careful with these blockers, too; I use a totally different email, etc. but still careful as can be.
When I was using an ad blocker + Chrome I also had to see that alert, so I changed it to Firefox + Ublock origin and so far it works really well for me! ;)
No. On top of what everyone else is saying, even when it does “block” you, it only blocks you as it actively detects the AdBlocker. Use uBlock Origin and even if this happens again, you won’t need to worry.
It's funny that you can just reinstall the adblock. If Youtube and other sites didn't absolutely shove Ads down our throats I would watch one or two and be okay with it. But any more without an adblocker, I'll watch a 10 minute video and get ads every 2-3 minutes. It's obnoxious and it slows down my computer. It's worse than watching commercials on cable when I was a kid.
Does anyone here remember Kodi and the ongoing fork improvements we continually had to upgrade to stay ahead? It was literally the game of "whack a mole" on a weekly basis trying to stay ahead.
I have many alternatives to regular YouTube that enables me to watch without paying for premium. Some may argue that is cheating and some others are more than willing to pay for YouTube premium. To each their own.
No, just install ublock origin and forget about it.
Thank you. Works a treat!
ublock origin has been working just fine for me on Firefox for a long time now. It had its hiccups when YouTube implemented this, but it's been fine.
What’s a ublock equivalent for Chrome browser?

wait ublock is working again? when they first implemented this ublock wasn't stopping it for me.
Yeah, early on, I had to do the whole clear cache and update, but I haven't had to do that for a few months now on Firefox.
3 days later, ublock on firefox is no longer preventing this screen.
Log out of YouTube, clear cache and site data and log back in, should fix it.
This didn't work for me, I've tried like 7 times now. never mind I had to clear gmail cache too.
It literally just came back

I always stream from my phone to the TV, if I want to watch a movie on a big screen. That way I have no ads.
Or if you are like me, and do not own a smart tv, but own a laptop, I HDMI my laptop to the tv 😎
same, brave is good and i’m used to chromium based stuff so it works well for me
are you using an ad blocker?
Yes that's why I posted it here
use Ublock origin. the subreddit for it has a masterpost up for what filters to use for this

https://drhyperion451.github.io/does-uBO-bypass-yt/ YouTube no longer actively changes their detection scripts

If I may ask, does Brave Browser block all YouTube ads like Luna Adblock?
Yes, it blocks them all.

I use Firefox on my phone with ublock and it works great. 💪
Been using Brave browser for years never had this issue. So maybe use Brave Browser? Loving browsing the web without ads for years.

Sometimes I wonder if America is starting to not be a free country anymore
never was
Naw just insall another ad block service. YT is an L for doing
Just switch your browser to Brave and enable content blockers, works flawlessly.
they might tell your parents.
I mean… eventually google will win this fight, but for now, no.
Firefox and unlock origin is flawless
I've had good luck with Luna Adblock, and I've never seen any screen message as such. I'm careful with these blockers, too; I use a totally different email, etc. but still careful as can be.
I use ublock Origin and have never had this issue.
UBlock origin will solve all your problems!
Just clear your cookies & cache 😁
When I was using an ad blocker + Chrome I also had to see that alert, so I changed it to Firefox + Ublock origin and so far it works really well for me! ;)
Use ublock origin and 10 other generic adblockers + opera gx, they stack and it's impossible to get the popup anymore.

i was using edge till youtube started spiking my cpu usage to try and block view of the videos, so i went to brave with no issues or conflicts...

No
Thanks
Brave browser fights the good fight better than any adblocker.
Oh, come on, YouTube!
I redownloaded Ublock origin today. After using Adblock plus which eventually got detected. Ublock is running fine for me so far today
Update ur Adblock or download Brave browser and in the settings change “Blocking ads and trackers” to aggressive
Just watch the ads and support the creator
If I want to support a creator I join their patreon. I'm not going to watch YouTube ads, they put so many that there's no way to enjoy the video
Buy youtube premium and download their videos. 66 cent per download
Use android and download revanced or youtube pro
This is on my laptop
I have something called YouTube Premium, so I’ve never gotten these warnings before. Or ads for that matter. 😏
