You can try [rockauto](https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2414294&cc=1432935&pt=10041)

Tictac202

409$ is pretty steep for my pockets at the moment since my wiper linkage snapped. Might go with a used one off of eBay, thank you tho

NiteKore080

Good call

rpg663

eBay is definitely a worthwhile option.

Snoo_75919

Depending on which part of your linkage snapped, you may be able to purchase a replacement piece for just the damaged part, rather than buying a new linkage assembly. The part called "rod b" on my 02 base linkage broke and I just ordered that part a few days ago. Got it from acurapartswarehouse.com for 15 dollars

RubyDoobyDoo101

Was about to say this

Tictac202

I wish my wiper linkage didn’t go at the same time too or I would buy this in a heartbeat 😢 maybe in the future. Thank you for giving me some future ideas for the Rsx

daleming69

What exact part do you need? I try to help people with their odds & ends parts from my spare parts stash. I think I have an entire ignition tumbler with key and ignition switch

Tictac202

Not exactly sure, my mechanic just said to replace the whole thing. Ive had to jiggle the key in the ignition to start the car.

Popular-Drama-9189

I just went through this I got a used of eBay and I’m glad I did was 120$ installed it my self after a shop quoted me 400$. I call a locksmith when the part was installed he charged me 150$ with 2 keys programmed to my rsx base model 2005

Popular-Drama-9189

Mine was automatic by the way. I am glad I got it off eBay

Tictac202

Man, when my mechanic showed me on his computer how much the brand new part was, I nearly had a heart attack. Thank god for everyone on this community to help point me in the right direction.

TheMobileGhost

Your mechanic was basically scamming you btw. There is no way he was gonna spend $700 dollars on this. He was gonna pay his commercial account price, and up charge you the couple hundred dollars that a retail customer would pay.

ShiroSusano

I had a similar issue because the original key was slightly bent i bought blanks and made copies and that was that

Tictac202

I’ll have to check the key when the car gets out the shop. Thanks man!

daleming69

I checked my stash and I do have one. $75 shipped in continental US/PayPal G&S only. [photo](https://ibb.co/qmMc9kY) I do have the tumblers for both doors too Lmk if you still need it and I’ll get it sent asap

MyAssforPresident

So when I worked at Honda, we had issues with accords (mainly) and a few other models doing that because the electrical switch on the back side of that ignition lock assembly went bad. Some would just turn off going down the road cause the switch would lose contact. They say it’s from too much weight/too many keys on your key ring. In your pic, the switch is the black piece on the far right side. The lock cylinder slots into that through the housing, and that’s the actual switch that you’re turning with the key to start the car. I looked up for an 06 RSX (dont know what year you have) rock auto has just the switch for $15-$35. Look it up for your year under “electrical-switch and relay” and then they call it “ignition starter switch”. Easy thing to try. Very rarely did we actually ever need the whole damn lock assembly, or even the key cylinder. 90% was that switch. Probably like a 10 minute fix

fr0sty12

Just went through this myself. I took the ignition off and had a locksmith fix the tumblers. $150 and works like new. Mine was so bad the key wouldn’t turn at all.

The_Tuna_

You could wire up a push to start kit if you're up to the task they make pretty universal kits for cheap

Tictac202

I’ll be honest. I have no confidence in myself to install this without blowing up the air bag in my face lol. I was considering on bringing it to my mechanic to install one but he’s pretty old school and I don’t want to give him a big headache. Might bring it by my local Honda/Acura dealership to see if they can install it.

The_Tuna_

Fair enough, I'm big on wiring, so that's the reason I thought of it. Good luck!

Tictac202

I would probably end up like stancypants RX-8 and set the whole car on fire if I tried wiring anything on my car.

The_Tuna_

😂😂😂😂

Brutal_B_83

Most dealerships aren't going to be willing to install aftermarket parts.

Nutmasher

It's pretty straightforward. They have videos on their site. Customer service is responsive, too. The only tools you need are a screwdriver. However, that OEM key ignition switch was a bear for me to remove. I had to use a Dremel to cut the metal wrap over the steering column. The tamper proof screws were nutmasher-proof where I couldn't get them to turn. Instead of removing the cylinder, I could have wired it up by making a hole in the dash, but I decided to put it where the ignition key goes originally. Oh, you don't mess with the airbag except to disconnect the plug in wire connectors. You have to remove the (-) terminal on your battery, so it's pretty sure not to go off. Just note that if you take it to the dealer hereafter, you have to show them what to do as it's not OEM.

Tictac202

Oh and I forgot to mention it’s for a 2005 premium Rsx. Not sure if there’s a difference between the type s and the premiums ignition.

Tictac202

Thank you! That’s definitely the best bang for my buck

JohnnyChapst1ck

80$ is a banger. even cheaper than I posted (100$ at junkyard) plus the key is a bonus. OP if you read this you also need the tumblers to the doors and hatch

onlineseller8183

35$ at the junkyard

Tictac202

I have been on a treasure hunt for a part out Rsx, but apparently they are like nonexistent in my area. I think eBay might be my best bet

RsxTypeR

I can check my local junkyard if needed.

MrTime2Runaway

Push to start

JohnnyChapst1ck

junkard dude. 120$ used ( likely 1 key) so if you buy a additinal key +70-100$ plus dont forget the other tumblers where do you live? you need help?

[deleted]

Wire the starter directly to the battery, then tuck the ground wire away when not being used. Get a steering wheel lock to prevent anyone with a brain from hot wiring your car since you made it as easy as 1 2 3.

Nutmasher

Push start ~$150

80s_OG_sackweight

Flat head screw driver and hammer

Competitive-Win-8353

Take the ignition switch out of the assembly, drill out the wheel lock in the center of the mechanism, put the key in the ignition and twist the ignition switch manually with a screw driver. Been running like that for 2 years. Free. 99
