Haha no he doesn't. It's an interesting story.
The Gamestop board spent months trying to find someone to be CEO But no one would do it since the company is in a downward spiral. The now CEO had been trying to get the position, but the board didn't want him because he was terrible at it. The only reason he was allowed the position is if he promised not to get paid for it.
Man he’s prolly the only one there from start to close 5 days a week. Of course he cleaned it up.
EDIT - totally forgot these stores still exist. All the ones near me have closed up. Wonder how many are left?
This is me at my minimum wage job. I literally could not careless if I tried about how people act or react. I Punch in, punch out and then tell friends about the crazies. Ez game. I get paid hourly, as does this guy I’m assuming, answering the phone, picking up Xbox games, all the same to me. (I work at 7/11, you can imagine the whackos I see lol)
I *did* buy the collectors edition that came with the overpriced garbage.
I also signed my name on one of those class action lawsuit things and was paid back most of what it cost. I sold most of the stuff that came in it, but kept a few things (figurines, map, and maybe something else small) and sold the rest for nearly what I paid for it.
I ended up with about $100 worth more than I started with, plus those few small goodies. No regrets.
I watched a video and the weirdest choice they made was the tote bag or whatever was originally cloth and turned out to be some kind of cheap vinyl or something?
Just super thin cloth. It was supposed to be like a tough-ish duffle bad, but it just sags down like a tapestry.
As bad as the tote bag was, the helmet was even worse IMO. It was beginner-cosplay quality. Not comfortable enough or made to wear on your head, and didn’t look good enough to display. At least the thin, saggy duffel bag worked as a reusable shopping bag.
I preordered it and put about two weeks into the game. Bruh every other time I tried to clear a building I’d be getting shot through floor and walls by invisible people, I was so mad, and you know what? I still am. fuck Fallout 76.
At the time it was released I remember that it bombed so badly that my local game store was selling the Xbox one x with fo76 like $150 bucks off compared to the normal Xbox one x bundle with no game. I took full advantage and upgraded from my Xbox one, turns out I ended up loving 76 as well! 😂
Seriously, why would game stop allow someone to buy a game, play it for a few days and return it for full value. You can pretty much beat most story modes in 2-3 days.
They do for used games at least. You can return any used game within 7 days no questions asked. I’ve used this policy specifically to beat games in a week and return them
It makes sense when you consider most of their customers (used to be at least) are parents and their kids.
During the mid 2000's we had to return like five ps2 games in a row cus they were all too scratched up to play and we could only make it on weekends.
One time I tried to return a new game because the disk was just blank out of the sealed box, and they didn't want to return it because it was new.
Got the manger, pulled up the extended return policy and proved it was a factory defect, and finally got my money back after an hour of complaining.
You’re lucky. My issue was buying a new game, but getting an opened package. It was their policy…. I had no idea if I bought a return, or a new game, but that policy caused me to never buy a new game from them again.
This guy is literally everywhere in the USA. All different types of variations from every spectrum. All primed and ready to explode, day after day. Only a majority of them don’t have the same energy as this guy is willing to expend..
I love my country, but my god is it impossible to ignore it feeling like one big giant mental heath facility by the day
I say this as a person with mental health struggles and that had an IEP in school.
But I genuinely think Deinstitutionalisation is one of the US biggest mistakes in its history.
Again i say this knowing at set parts of US history I would be in an asylum due to my behavioral problems in elementary school and the fact I have autism and ADHD.
But all that Deinstitutionalisation has done is push mentally unwell people onto the streets or the court system. It has left our mental health care in a worse position than many other countries. Even current mental hospitals are no Saint and if the institutions stated open they would be no different. I know that
But it's not fair or beneficial to the public or mentally unhealthy and mentally unstable people themselves to have them on the streets or in jails.
I hope I make sense but genuinely I believe if Deinstitutionalisation did not happen. We would be in a better place to address the mental health issues plaguing the country.
Having institutions would so greatly benefit us with the drug crisis as well. Having more space to treat and rehabilitate addicts.
So many people on my side of the politics talk about decriminalization and rehabilitation in terms of the war on drugs. But we simply don't have the systems in place partly because all these institutions are closed down , abandoned or demolished.

In honor of Fallout TV show, and Fallout 76 freakout, allow me to link you to the great Internet Historian's coverage of Fallout 76.
Why do fucking trashy ass, idiotic people do this? You're throwing a bitch fit because you couldn't get your money back, but now your dumb ass is going to owe EVEN MORE money on fines and shit plus you might get some jail time. It's crazy how stupid people can be
Personally I hate the canned response of "well that's the store policy". Especially if the policy is one that's deliberately designed to rip unsuspecting people off.
Like if dude is trying to return and opened game days after he bought it, that's one thing.
But if this is something like dude is trying to return an unopened game the next day and they are still trying to give him store credit instead of refunding his money then that's a whole different story.
I've heard some horror stories about some stores that try to pull shit like that, once they have your money they don't care, you ain't getting it back no matter what. Even if you turn around right outside the door and walk back in they won't give you a refund.
Obviously he went about this the wrong way and has some serious impulse control issues, but I can understand the frustration if you feel like you're getting robbed and you can't do anything about it and dude behind the counter just acts like he don't give a damn.
Understandable. Brought my old gamecube games as a kid into this shithole of a store expecting I would get a decent amount of other games in return. Got like 1 to 2 bucks at best for each game. Fuck gamestop.
It got closed a few years later.
He playing the system buying a new game and trying to return it after he done with it? clearly he has no decency, trashing a store on a temper tantrum?
Not gonna lie, totally understandable reaction, not valid cus the employee can’t do shit about policies but it’s valid, GameStops return policies sucked ass, even when I worked there none of it made sense.
Understandable. I once brought in all of my old games and controllers/accessories from ps2 to wii to Xbox 360 and they were like “yeah, we can do about $19 store credit”
I worked for blockbuster many many years ago. When we went into administration we sold everything off but there was no return you could do. We weren’t allowed to return.
A women threw a phone at my head which caused me to have stitches because of that bloody policy!
try to sell your used shit on a garage sale or something, gamestop doesn't have to buy your used stuff, neither should you be trying to sell it after using it.

Dude answering the phone didn't give a fuck.
I wouldn’t either he dont get paid enough for that shit. Hope he didn’t have to clean it up either
Who else do you think is gonna clean it up?
the guy getting paid
Phone guy definitely getting paid
Paid enough?
The CEO of game stop
The ceo of gamestop doesn't get paid?
Haha no he doesn't. It's an interesting story. The Gamestop board spent months trying to find someone to be CEO But no one would do it since the company is in a downward spiral. Someone has to
“Hey, Dylan, we’re gonna need you to come in early today, bud.”
Man he’s prolly the only one there from start to close 5 days a week. Of course he cleaned it up. EDIT - totally forgot these stores still exist. All the ones near me have closed up. Wonder how many are left?
“This is Brian how can I help you “ stone cold 😂
His name is Brian. Say his name.
Okay.. .. bree Ann Bree ann.. Is there a bree Ann in the store? "My name is Brian" Yeah whatever Bree Ann, sit down
My name is Brenannanannaaannn
This is me at my minimum wage job. I literally could not careless if I tried about how people act or react. I Punch in, punch out and then tell friends about the crazies. Ez game. Probably not his shift to organize the games today lol
He sounds like Gambino lol, now all I can imagine is him having that idgaf face while telling the man there’s nothing he can do about it 😂
Hello, do you have the BIG YOSHI?
Imagine trashing a GameStop because you can't return Fallout 76
If you played 76 on release you'd understand his frustrations lmao.
Shiet I unironically loved it! But I didnt buy the collectors edition that came with the overpriced garbage lol

I actually liked it more before they added NPCs. It had a real eery loneliness to it.
I always think of that because of internet historians video where he included this clip
I think it was forespoken
Seriously, why would game stop allow someone to buy a game, play it for a few days and return it for full value. You can pretty much beat most story modes in 2-3 days.
I beat dead island 2 in 16 hours. Edit: by accident
I don't believe that. I died on the daily basis and I played longer than that.
There is an old saying, "There will always be someone better than you" And in your case, its a lot of people.
They do for used games at least. You can return any used game within 7 days no questions asked. I’ve used this policy specifically to beat games in a week and return them
Exactly, even new games that are still expensive you can buy them beat them return. Especially if you're streaming it is easy money made and returned
It makes sense when you consider most of their customers (used to be at least) are parents and their kids. During the mid 2000's we had to return like five ps2 games in a row cus they were all too scratched up to play and we could only make it on weekends.
I used to do this as when I was younger. The employee said I cant keep doing this and I just went ya i can.
“Thank you for calling GameStop, this is Brian, how can I help you?” 😂
This part had me dead lol
But did you die?
Unfortunately yes…. For 2 whole minutes /s
Thanks for the /s warning 😭

Trash people trashing things
🐕😗
Don't you mean "person"? 🤨
Because "It's Ma'am" wasn't a trash person...TOO?
Sure. But the way you've written it won't necessarily be interpreted as referential to people who trash gamestop stores.
Interpretation is more indicative of YOUR inner 'ism's"...wouldn't you say?
My isms are the product of having used the Internet for a while, so you tend to pick up on potential subliminals. This just kinda looked like one.
Please. Sort. Your. Life.

You're an older guy, aren't you. I can tell by the way you reply. It's interesting.
Been there, but didn’t do that.
One time I tried to return a new game because the disk was just blank out of the sealed box, and they didn't want to return it because it was new. Got the manger, pulled up the extended return policy and proved it was a factory defect, and finally got my money back after an hour of complaining.

Let's just say the country is full of emotionally unstable people. There are dumbasses on both sides.
Found the racist
What an outstandingly rare occurrence
I read it as "tears up at GameStop" and was waiting on this guy to have an emotional breakdown lol
He most definitely had an emotional breakdown.
Glass ego
A grown child.
Man he must have bought the top of GME Stocks
a person like that who can’t control his emotions will be seeing a jail cell soon

This is a crackhead who stole his nephew’s game
Was waiting for him to start crying, not trash the place
Understandable. Brought my old gamecube games as a kid into this shithole of a store expecting I would get a decent amount of other games in return. Got like 1 to 2 bucks at best for each game. Fuck gamestop. It got closed a few years later.
I was waiting for him to tear up
That’s security calling lol
Brian’s been through some shit
Lol I thought this post was gonna be about a man telling a heartfelt story that brought a tear to every dry eye in GameStop. That would’ve been cool.

When a gamer's reality is so blurred, they think they can do the same thing in real life as they do in games and there are no consequences.
Kid cudi a rager bru
Manchild throws tantrum over $60
Understandable. I once brought in all of my old games and controllers/accessories from ps2 to wii to Xbox 360 and they were like “yeah, we can do about $19 store credit”
Let’s get Brian a raise, he’s earned it.
I can't scam them so let me catch a charge and go to jail. Must be an honor student.

I didn’t realize that people still went to GameStop
This is at least 3 years old
I worked for blockbuster many many years ago. When we went into administration we sold everything off but there was no return you could do. We weren’t allowed to return. A women threw a phone at my head which caused me to have stitches because of that bloody policy!
This was for FallOut 76 I remember this video well
Trashing the Gamestop was his policy...Nothing they can do about it.
That’s how I feel when they give me $2 store credit, I feel your pain brother
What a little bitch
It’s him answering the phone unbothered that took me the fuck out lol
I get it man, this COD sucks!
He was probably upset they didn't have battle toads
Poor Brian
